I've been trying this bubble waffle house for the past few months and it's phenomenal ! Their Portuguese tart eggette is everything you could want. Every bubble is carefully filled with the broiled top custard from an egg tart without the tart shell! Nothing dry about this Portuguese eggette unlike other places I've tried. This shop is busy every time I go in. Their staff are very efficient and nice. They introduced a new flavour recently, the tiramisu custard filled eggette. I love tiramisu but the concentration of coffee in this eggette is not for the faint coffee lover. I was totally hyped up after eating this one! Eggette House has the best bubble waffles I've ever had. Every time I get it, I get the feeling that it's everything I've ever wanted and dreamed of. The waffle is perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside for my soft mouth. My favourite flavour is Portuguese egg tart. It is so flavourful and creamy--especially in comparison to other places that try to do the same flavour (and fail). I'd really like to try their savoury flavours one day! The place is always packed when I go so expect a 20 to 30 minute wait for your waffle as they make it to order. There is also nowhere to sit here so expect to stand while you wait. They'll usually tell you how long it'll take though so you can set a timer and explore the little mall and food court upstairs if you'd like. read more

This was a standout at the Richmond public market so I found it intriguing enough to check it out. I got 3 of the cubes looking thing: original, glutinous rice with pork floss and black sesame mochi. The best one was definitely the glutinous rice with pork floss. It was savory and the light. The other two was heavier and dense that I don't think I can eat the entire thing. The original was more like mung bean so not anything special. The black sesame was definitely missing the mochi. It was just black sesame so I was a little disappointed. Each cube was pretty big in my opinion and they are roughly $3 each. Overall, it was good to try and I probably would come back to try other things when I'm in the area but not something I would be wanting to go back any time soon read more

I had the bubble waffle and 7 of the cubes. The bubble waffle wasn't too sweet and had a strong custard flavour. It was nice and crispy but tasted a bit too much of either baking soda or baking powder. As for the cubes my favourite was the black rice with pork floss and egg yolk because it was an interesting flavour even though it didn't have enough egg yolk. I also liked the black sesame mochi because the black sesame flavour was really strong. The other flavours were pretty standard. The fillings weren't overly sweet and you can tell they use a lot of good ingredients. Overall I wouldn't get these again as they can be quite pricey but definitely worth at least one try. Tip: buy 6 cubes and get 1 free. They take the priciest one as the free one read more

Worth checking out the bubble waffles at Richmond Public Market. There were many good looking flavours but we tried the salted egg yolk and chocolate chip flavours. The aroma of egg and custard penetrated our senses, almost like cakes. The contrasting textures ever so addictive. Their recipe had stronger notes of a coconut milk flavour compared to other places but we did not mind that at all. We were impressed by their chocolate version because the cocoa flavour came through perfectly but it did not overwhelm the eggy profile. Plus, the filling were still quite melty when it became cold. I heard good things about Eggette house and their unique flavours so I had to come check it out after having lunch at the public market food court. The line was long to order, and even longer waiting for your order, so be prepared to wait. There were fewer than 10 people ahead of us, and they said about 15 minutes, but we waited over half an hour! They have their waffle irons lined up at the counter so you could watch them make all the waffles, and wishing for the next one to be yours... my little one demanded the double chocolate one, and we were too stuffed to get two. I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but it was stuffed with chocolate chips and was quite good fresh. These do not heat up well, please eat immediately! Crisp light batter on the outside, with a gooey slightly chewy centre. Their milk tea was pretty good too, strong HK milk tea flavour, but not overly sweet. Got the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle. It was good as they fill it pretty well in all the bubbles. It is a good dessert but make sure you have room in your belly as it is heavy. One thing to keep in mind is the wait time. I waited about 25 minutes for it. They have 3 machines to make the waffles and it looks like the Portuguese one is the most popular one and they have to make more egg tart as they go along. This is a review of their Richmond Night Market stall. I wish I had checked my Yelp bookmarks first before deciding to get the charcoal salted egg yolk gai daan zai. Didn't realise I had this place already earmarked for the salted egg yolk, which is half the price in store than at the market. Granted, charcoal seems to be exclusive to the night market, but it doesn't really add any flavour. I would rather come here and snag another salted egg yolk over the night market any day! There were pictures that made it seem like the waffle would be full with the salted egg yolk. Only reviewing the hot milk tea as I'm a HK milk tea fan also, I was too full post lunch to try anything else. I judge from the base tea, type of cream/creamer, and type of sugar. When I try any milk tea, in this case a take out. I always ask for the original of how they make it as that is their base guideline. Tea was hot Good size (like a grande for around $3.50) Milk/creamer was light and creamy (sometimes the artificial creamer can be sickening), this did not drain me after finishing the entire cup in my drive. Sweetness is what asians call "not that sweet".... I could've asked them to boost the sweetness next time. Love small business doing their own thing and keeping their quality high. Went to Richmond to do my COVID test earlier today and since I spent in China 5 years before immigrated to Canada, I do miss Chinese delights and wanted to explore unique places in Richmond . After doing my research on local bubble tea places, decided to check "peanut bubble tea" due to its high rating and reasonable prices. I didn't make it there , instead I saw people lining up at the other place and I looked at their stand which was almost empty , decided to give that business a try . As I said , they were pretty much sold out of cubes so I've ordered from whatever it's left . Cubes flavours: sesame mochi , red bean and taro . Plus HK style tea to go . We went wandering downstairs of Richmond Public Market while waiting for our to-go food from upstairs. Didn't walk far before noticing Eggette tucked at the end of the basement floor. It was consistently busy, 3-5 customers waiting for their delectable treats. We got the original combo. Original flavour Bubble Waffle and a hot Milk Tea. The Bubble Waffle was great. Great taste and texture. It was the perfect treat while waiting for to-go food from upstairs. My wife is a big fan of Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. Problem is, sometimes it's just not good. This is not the case for Eggette House. It was delicious. Their milk tea portion was large as well. Definitely getting more than your money worth. I also got a Apple Sparkling Green Tea. Pro-tip! Double-check the payment amount before paying with a card. Their Point-Of-Sales is not connected to the card machine, so the cashier has to manually enter the payment amount backwards, and they've made a mistake every time I went. My 1st visit - they rounded up to the nearest 5-cent even though that's not a thing for card payments. My 2nd visit - they enter $10 instead of $18 (digit 8 is close to digit 0 on the number pad).
