I stopped by for a visit today to order my favorite eggete, their Portuguese egg tart. Oh, how I have missed it! Theirs is truly the best! Every bubble is filled to the top with Portuguese egg custard and no tart crust! The making is a multi step process that is fascinating to watch. This is why they excel at their recipe. Others I have eaten included the dry crust in their waffles but little custard. I love the creamy custard contrasting with crispness of the waffle edges. This makes the waffle a truly Portuguese egg waffle. So morish and worth every creamy bite for about $9.50 incl GST. I'm always so so sorry when there are no bubbles left to savor. They offer durian cheese flavour for those who dare. I have tried their Tiramisu eggette which can give you a quite a caffeine buzz from the coffee custard but I always come back to my favourite, the Portuguese egg tart eggette. The staff are so efficient and well orchestrated making their waffles to order especially with so many different flavors they offer. I could see that they only use their own in house made Portuguese egg custard from the baking pan they scoop it out of for this flavor. There is a glass window where customers can watch their waffle making process. This little place appears very unassuming, has no seating and is strictly takeout. Its accessible from the street level below the Richmond Public Market which you can enter from the opposite open end of their stall. This place always has a line up for good reason. Overall the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle was good, but it was a bit overhyped. The filling was definitely an egg custard and it added a new layer of flavour to the bubble waffle, but it was missing a key piece of what makes Portuguese egg tarts so tasty: brown sugar. Maybe I just had a bad batch, but it didn't have that brown sugar sweetness that is signature to Portuguese egg tarts. Combined with the fact that this was $9, I wouldn't go back to get this filling. The milk tea was delicious- not too sweet and you can definitely taste the tea leaves. As for the waffles, the texture was not there. I was expecting a nice crispy exterior with a warm, soft inside. Located within the Richmond Public Market , so the parking lot is a zoo! - However this one is super transit friendly, a short walk from Richmond Centre. The Dalgona coffee was so delicious , a nice strong flavor kick to wake you up, however i was expecting a layer of dalgona cream on top, however they serve this premixed for you. Personally not a huge fan of egg waffles in general, however I must say the Portuguese egg tart flavor waffle was so good - each piece was filled with warm mouth watering goodness. I was checking out the shopping mall here for all the food options available and ordered an egg waffle as the perfect dessert. It came out too hot to eat, but that didn't slow me down in the least bit, the flavor was too good for me to pass on it. I aboslutely love egg waffles and have been on the hunt for unique flavors. The shop is small, occupying a small section of a food market. The employees are efficient but with only 4 eggette machines and how popular this place can get, I've had to wait about 15-20 minutes for my order but it is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of flavors to choose from ranging from savory to sweet. They also sell interesting drinks such as sparkling pineapple coffee. There is a combo of milk tea and classic eggettes for $8.99. Between this location and the Vancouver location, I've tried the original flavor, the Portuguese egg tart flavor, the seaweed and corn flavor, the chestnut flavor, and the tiramisu flavor. Out of those, the Portugese egg tart flavor (which is really just 蛋撻 filling) is my absolute favorite. It's a perfect custard texture (not too soft and not dense) and sweet without being overwhelming. It complements the crispy egg puffs perfectly. The original (the most classic and lightest of the flavors I've tried) and the tiramisu flavor (prominent coffee flavor) are both nice as well, though I would lean towards the original flavor for a lighter snack. The seaweed corn (is as described) and chestnut flavors (dense filling and chestnut is not something I'm particularly fond of) were not ones I would get again. To me, savory flavors don't fit egg waffles well but they were interesting to try. They don't accept cash or AmEX. Highly recommend the Portuguese egg tart flavor!! I hope they someday will have the viral pineapple bun topping on their egg puffs though they seem to specialize in filled egg puffs. Only took us 2 days to come back here again. We love this place. Ordered the Double Chocolate Bubble Waffle this time. It was our daughter's choice. I still like the Tiramisu Bubble Waffle best but the Double Chocolate was still very good. Much better than I expected. Our daughter prefers Oreo over the Double Chocolate but I prefer the Double Chocolate over the Oreo. It's all personal preference. This is a must go location if you're visiting the Richmond Public Market, it's on the lower floor of the building. There is no seating so you order takeaway. We ordered the Portuguese egg bubble waffle and was so impressed at the amount of filling they put in each little bubble. It wasn't too heavy either which meant we could eat a lot more :) service was friendly and they always say it takes a minimum of 15 minutes, however ours took almost 35 minutes since there was a large order ahead of us. Last month, I visited this shop in the Richmond Public Market to get some Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The shop also sells HK style egg puffs in various flavors but I didn't get a chance to try them on this visit. When I went, the shop just opened and it took them about 5-10 minutes to make the drink. Being that we already had milk tea earlier yesterday, we opted for the black sesame bean cube and their Portuguese egg tart bubble waffles. It was at that moment the cashier kept on trying to upsell us which is normally fine but you'd figure someone would get a clue after the third rejection. Food: Simply put - we got the experience of the good and the bad with the Eggette House. The black sesame bean cubes were not worth the $2.75 CAD since they tasted like something you could buy from a store and get more in terms of quantity. Eggette House has the best bubble waffles I've ever had. Every time I get it, I get the feeling that it's everything I've ever wanted and dreamed of. The waffle is perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside for my soft mouth. My favourite flavour is Portuguese egg tart. It is so flavourful and creamy--especially in comparison to other places that try to do the same flavour (and fail). I'd really like to try their savoury flavours one day! The place is always packed when I go so expect a 20 to 30 minute wait for your waffle as they make it to order. There is also nowhere to sit here so expect to stand while you wait.
