Overall the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle was good, but it was a bit overhyped. The filling was definitely an egg custard and it added a new layer of flavour to the bubble waffle, but it was missing a key piece of what makes Portuguese egg tarts so tasty: brown sugar. Maybe I just had a bad batch, but it didn't have that brown sugar sweetness that is signature to Portuguese egg tarts. Combined with the fact that this was $9, I wouldn't go back to get this filling. So don't believe the hype from YouTubers and influencers out there. If anything, I'd love to try the tiramisu filling the next time.
I was super excited to try this spot after reading so many good reviews but unfortunately, it was a little bit of a let down. I ordered the house special milk tea, seaweed w/corn waffle, and the Portuguese egg tart waffle. It was pretty busy so it took about 15/20 minutes for everything to come out. The milk tea was delicious- not too sweet and you can definitely taste the tea leaves. As for the waffles, the texture was not there. I was expecting a nice crispy exterior with a warm, soft inside. But instead, it was pretty soft all around without the crispy edges. As for the flavor, the seaweed and corn was okay. But the Portuguese egg tart flavor was spot on! I would be willing to try when it's not super busy and hope that the texture will be better then.
I've been to Eggette House in Richmond many times now, and it never misses. Their egg waffles are done exactly right: crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy inside, even better than classic Hong Kong-style eggettes. The tiramisu eggette is a standout with its coffee custard filling, but my personal favourite is the Portuguese egg tart flavour, comforting, fragrant, and not too sweet. Their authentic HK milk tea is rich, smooth, and beautifully balanced, making the perfect pairing. With a wide variety of flavours (including durian, Oreo, and savoury options), it's an easy place to keep coming back to. Nostalgic, satisfying, and always worth the visit.

I was checking out the shopping mall here for all the food options available and ordered an egg waffle as the perfect dessert. It came out too hot to eat, but that didn't slow me down in the least bit, the flavor was too good for me to pass on it. I tried the Portugese egg tart filled one, but also stole bites from most the other flavors. Mine was my favorite, but I you can't go wrong with any of the options. The staff was kicking the out really fast, but with the high demand, it took a few minutes for each waffle, but a shorter wait than I expected. The shop is just a tiny place with no real seating, and the customers mainly just stand and stare/drool as the watch the waffles get made infront of them. It's a great shop and I'm glad I don't live close, otherwise I'd be a few kilos heavier.

The employees are efficient but with only 4 eggette machines and how popular this place can get, I've had to wait about 15-20 minutes for my order but it is absolutely worth it. There are a lot of flavors to choose from ranging from savory to sweet. They also sell interesting drinks such as sparkling pineapple coffee. There is a combo of milk tea and classic eggettes for $8.99. Between this location and the Vancouver location, I've tried the original flavor, the Portuguese egg tart flavor, the seaweed and corn flavor, the chestnut flavor, and the tiramisu flavor. Out of those, the Portugese egg tart flavor (which is really just 蛋撻 filling) is my absolute favorite. It's a perfect custard texture (not too soft and not dense) and sweet without being overwhelming. It complements the crispy egg puffs perfectly. The original (the most classic and lightest of the flavors I've tried) and the tiramisu flavor (prominent coffee flavor) are both nice as well, though I would lean towards the original flavor for a lighter snack. The seaweed corn (is as described) and chestnut flavors (dense filling and chestnut is not something I'm particularly fond of) were not ones I would get again. To me, savory flavors don't fit egg waffles well but they were interesting to try. They don't accept cash or AmEX. Highly recommend the Portuguese egg tart flavor!! I hope they someday will have the viral pineapple bun topping on their egg puffs though they seem to specialize in filled egg puffs. I visited every day of my trip and will visit every time I'm in the area. I will need to try their milk tea next.
This place gets busy and does take a while....They quoted me 20 minutes for 2 original eggettes, and it took about 15 minutes. -:) Items are freshly made and they try to make them fast. My kids really enjoyed them.
Lots of flavor to choose from! It's next to a market with no seats and just a to go place .We went with the most basic option with just a plain egg waffle. Took about fifteen minutes to get the order due to how busy it was. It was pretty good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They have some other interesting flavors that I've never seen before. Will have to give it a try next time.
Best bubble waffles around.. so light and crispy on the outside with soft and gooey centers.. egg tart flavor was a tad too sweet but still very delicious .. wanna try out their tiramisu next time around.. it was a long wait 45 minutes - but I appreciated that the counter person gave us a realistic wait time to go on.. milk tea tasted a bit floral but was perfect sweetness
The milk tea is really good. The eggettes is nice and crunchy. It's an interesting idea at first but after eating a few stuffed eggettes, it feels heavy. Nice treat to share with friends and once in a while.
Only took us 2 days to come back here again. We love this place. Ordered the Double Chocolate Bubble Waffle this time. It was our daughter's choice. I still like the Tiramisu Bubble Waffle best but the Double Chocolate was still very good. Much better than I expected. Our daughter prefers Oreo over the Double Chocolate but I prefer the Double Chocolate over the Oreo. It's all personal preference. Regardless of what your flavor preference may be though, there's no disputing that this place does truly awesome bubble waffles. They are the absolute best in town!
This is a must go location if you're visiting the Richmond Public Market, it's on the lower floor of the building. There is no seating so you order takeaway. We ordered the Portuguese egg bubble waffle and was so impressed at the amount of filling they put in each little bubble. It wasn't too heavy either which meant we could eat a lot more :) service was friendly and they always say it takes a minimum of 15 minutes, however ours took almost 35 minutes since there was a large order ahead of us. The wait was so worth it, I would definitely go again when I am back in town!
I tried their Portuguese Egg Tart Bubble Waffle, and it was crispy on the outside, soft and custardy on the inside, with real chunks of egg tart baked right in. It's like two desserts in one! Best part about it was that it was not to sweet!

I stopped by for a visit today to order my favorite eggete, their Portuguese egg tart. Oh, how I have missed it! Theirs is truly the best! Every bubble is filled to the top with Portuguese egg custard and no tart crust! The making is a multi step process that is fascinating to watch. This is why they excel at their recipe. Others I have eaten included the dry crust in their waffles but little custard. I love the creamy custard contrasting with crispness of the waffle edges. This makes the waffle a truly Portuguese egg waffle. So morish and worth every creamy bite for about $9.50 incl GST. I'm always so so sorry when there are no bubbles left to savor. They offer durian cheese flavour for those who dare. I have tried their Tiramisu eggette which can give you a quite a caffeine buzz from the coffee custard but I always come back to my favourite, the Portuguese egg tart eggette. The staff are so efficient and well orchestrated making their waffles to order especially with so many different flavors they offer. I could see that they only use their own in house made Portuguese egg custard from the baking pan they scoop it out of for this flavor. There is a glass window where customers can watch their waffle making process. This little place appears very unassuming, has no seating and is strictly takeout. Its accessible from the street level below the Richmond Public Market which you can enter from the opposite open end of their stall. This place always has a line up for good reason. They offer exotic and traditional cold coffee and tea drinks too. Cash and cards accepted. This is my automatic go to for a sweet dessert snack. read more
Located within the Richmond Public Market , so the parking lot is a zoo! - However this one is super transit friendly, a short walk from Richmond Centre. The Dalgona coffee was so delicious , a nice strong flavor kick to wake you up, however i was expecting a layer of dalgona cream on top, however they serve this premixed for you. Personally not a huge fan of egg waffles in general, however I must say the Portuguese egg tart flavor waffle was so good - each piece was filled with warm mouth watering goodness. This place gets super busy, so wait times could easily hit the 30+ minute mark, so plan ahead - especially during the weekend! - or order and take a walk around - lots of food upstairs as well! read more

Interesting variety of bubble waffles! If you're by Richmond Centre worth the walk to try it out. You can also get a bubble waffle before grocery shopping in Richmond Public Market. Go upstairs for their food court and plenty of seating. There's an entrance on the outside by Bushwell St. Super quick service! Loved the texture of the waffle, crispy outside and chewy inside. I got the salted egg yolk and pork floss for a sweet and salty treat. read more
I got the black sesame eggette. It had a subtle sesame taste while being not too sweet. The out side was crispy while the inside had a nice bite to it. I definitely should have gotten another flavor to try. Yum! Tip: There are two ways to get into the store front. Either on the main street or you can go inside the Richmond Public Market. Got the Portuguese egg tart waffles and they were so addicting. Even though I was stuffed from lunch and didn't even really want to eat any, I ate one piece and couldn't help but eat a few more. I read another review that the milk tea is made with a giant ice cube made out of milk tea which is AMAZING because I'm a slow drinker and drinks always get watered down before I finish them. Such a smart move. The milk tea is the perfect HK milk tea flavor. read more
My friends and I went to Eggette House following dim sum and we each ordered an original bubble waffle and milk tea. The bubble waffle was freshly made on the spot and the milk tea had a great rich taste. Eggette House doesn't have any seating, but it's connected to a mall, which has a food court. We ended up walking to the food court and eating there. read more
Ahhh this was so delicious! I was excited to try Eggette House fresh from the namesake store. It's not hard to find if you're walking, but keep an eye out for the sign on the street so you don't miss your turn in. On a Saturday late afternoon, there was a short lineup already. My partner and I ordered a Portuguese egg tart waffle to share, and it was about a 10-15 minute wait. Service was very fast and efficient. The waffle was SO GOOD! Perfectly crispy outside, with soft, chewy, flavourful inside. The filling was creamy but not wet that it would have made the waffle soggy. Perfection in a bubble waffle! Give me more!! read more
Why can't we have egg waffles like this in the 626 or San Francisco? I'm convinced Canada Richmond area has literally the best Cantonese food in the world. The bubble waffle was super crispy, airy, chewy texture and the Portuguese egg tart filling was one of the best I've had in any type of bubble waffle. It took a while to make but I noticed they even torched the egg tart filling.. honestly some next level stuff. I really appreciate the effort that goes into these little guys. Love me a bubble waffle! While it does take a while (15 min wait), they make it fresh and have a variety of yummy flavours. I got the banana one which was filled with a gooey banana pudding, definitely a great size for sharing after eating at the market. I also got the lychee rose sparkling drink which wasn't too sweet and was quite refreshing. Would definitely come back to try other flavours read more
This place is a Vancouver gem! It is located in a Richmond food court mall as a small shop downstairs. It was pretty busy on a Saturday but I waited 10 minutes max. Their egg waffles are made fresh to order so be patient! I tried their original egg waffle and it was one of the best egg waffles I ever had. This is a food stall on the ground floor of the Richmond Public Market, near the north-west corner. You can smell the bubble waffles throughout the ground floor. We ordered the Original Bubble Waffle ($4.75). We wanted stuffed/flavoured ones, but they would take 20 to 35 mins! All bubble waffles are freshly made. Ours tasted good. They have some interesting flavours such as Portuguese Egg Tart ($8.50), Bacon and Cheese ($7.50), Seaweed with Pork Fluff ($6.50), Seaweed with Corn ($6.50), Durian Cheese ($13.75), and Chestnut ($5.95). I don't recall seeing these in Toronto. They also serve Hong Kong Milk Tea, Ribena Sparkling Coffee ($4.99), and Lychee Rose Sparkling Tea ($$4.50). First time at Eggette House and I really wanted to try their original egg waffle and milk tea combo ($7.49). Pretty decent pricing for an after work snack. Went around 3:30pm and there was little to no wait. Staff was pretty efficient in taking orders and service was quick. There's standing space for eating, but we decided to just go upstairs to the food court. First opinions of the egg waffle - honestly the most perfect egg waffles I've seen! They come out glistening had the perfect half air/half filling on the inside, with a crunchy outer shell. It didn't get soggy that quickly and the waffle itself wasn't overly oily. I would come back to try their Portuguese tart egg waffle for sure! Their milk tea was pretty average but you can't beat the price for sure. Would say it errs towards the bitter side with a stronger tea taste rather than sweet. read more
Great eggettes and lots of flavors!! I liked the original flavor, and will be coming back again to try the Portuguese egg tart flavor. I also tried the black sesame flavor, but it tasted a little worse than the original --- it's just black sesame seed filling that's not sweetened. Update: I tried the egg tart flavor and I loved it! The filling tastes just like egg tart. I also tried the seaweed & pork floss flavor, and it was pretty good. read more
Last month, I visited this shop in the Richmond Public Market to get some Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The shop also sells HK style egg puffs in various flavors but I didn't get a chance to try them on this visit. When I went, the shop just opened and it took them about 5-10 minutes to make the drink. That shows that the drinks were not pre-made. The milk tea was very smooth and had a lot of tea flavor. The thing that impressed me the most was that the ice cubes were actually frozen milk tea cubes! Even if the ice cubes melt, the drink is not diluted but it is still milk tea. So creative! The cups were also very cute. Thumbs up! read more

The smell of the bubble waffle wafting through the air just draws you in. NO matter how full you are, there is always room for drinks and bubble waffle. We had gotten the cheese bubble waffle, it was ok, then went back for the egg tart one and the Oreo bubble waffle. The egg tart one is to die for, it was creamy and custardy and delicious. The Oreo bubble waffle was ok as well but loved the egg tart one. Bonus points for taking credit cards. read more

Nothing has changed its still hands down the best bubble waffle place. But one thing for sure these flavors as always are out of this world. Durian Cheese ~ probably one of my new top favs. For all you durian lovers this is it. The cheese is subtle but it adds a load of richness that pairs so well with the durian. The shell is crispy and chewy and the overall flavor is bomb. 10/10. Salted egg yolk pork floss ~ I love a savory option and lately salted egg yolk and pork floss everything has been hitting all the right spots for me. And this is one that was super delicious. I never had a savory bubble waffle before but it paired so well and nice. The richness of the salted egg yolk cuts with the pork floss and bubble waffle batter. 8/10. Portuguese egg tart ~ a must order for me each time I am here. The sweetness and the creaminess from the egg tart pairs so well with that bubble waffle batter. I love how its loaded up with tons of filling making it soooo good. 10/10. Hk style milk tea ~ bomb milk tea, I love how the ice inside is also milk tea frozen so it wont dilute the drink. It was perfect sweetness, and richness and had a good creaminess to it. 9/10. Hk style iced lemon tea ~ refreshing and perfectly sweet they got that sweet and tea ratio perfectly. 8/10. Overall: Portuguese egg tart bubble waffle - it is hands down by far the best bubble waffle I've ever had! Location/Parking: It's on the 1st floor of the Richmond Public Market and can be extremely hard to find as there are a lot of shops around it. However, there is a private entrance on Westminster Hwy but I believe the private parking garage is on the other side. Service/Menu: My wife absolutely loves black sesame, and when I saw on Yelp they had black sesame bean cubes, something you wouldn't find in Oregon, I knew I had to bring her here! When we arrived, a customer overheard that we were visiting so he recommended their milk tea and some egg puffs. Being that we already had milk tea earlier yesterday, we opted for the black sesame bean cube and their Portuguese egg tart bubble waffles. It was at that moment the cashier kept on trying to upsell us which is normally fine but you'd figure someone would get a clue after the third rejection. Food: Simply put - we got the experience of the good and the bad with the Eggette House. The black sesame bean cubes were not worth the $2.75 CAD since they tasted like something you could buy from a store and get more in terms of quantity. On the other hand with the Portuguese egg tart bubble waffles, it was love at first bite. The warm gooeyness from the egg tart with the crunch from the bubble waffle was the perfect combination. The biggest recommendation I can give, other than ordering more than one is to not let it sit because once the egg tart settles, it tastes "normal." read more
This bubble waffle was INCREDIBLE, the Portuguese egg tart filling was creamy, warm and not too sweet. The waffle was crispy on the edges and I thought the waffle was great fresh but even when it was cooled down, it was so good. The sparkling lychee rose drink was so good, not too sweet and super refreshing. This was one of the BEST bites I had on this recent Vancouver trip. read more

First time here and it was really good! Came on a Sunday afternoon and long lineup so we had to wait 20-25 min but the portugese egg tarte bubble waffle ($8.50) was really good. Not too sweet, nice and hot, fluffy and creamy :) read more
