Waitress checked my cup to ensure it was not empty, asked if I'd like some reading material while waiting, as they did not have the morning paper, which I declined. Breakfast served at 10:06. Hash-browns crispy and brown outer shell, well cooked in middle. Eggs perfect for over easy, and toasts done well in shades of light to dark brown. Waitress ensured that I had everything I wanted. I had not been here in a few years, and the service as well as the cuisine were very fine. Surrounding was pleasant and not too noisy. The restaurant was about 1/4 full. read more

I went to Egg'lectic while running some errands in the area. Overall it was a very cute place to go for breakfast/lunch and offered some unique menu items that you don't find at every other "breakfast served all day" restaurant. The food was hot and cooked well - I had the strawberry banana crepes and all of the fruit was fresh and delicious :) The portions were more than ample, and although service wasn't necessarily personal, they were prompt and kept our drinks full - even when our server was training another server! The hostess was very nice and helpful and the ambiance has a very country/hometown kitchen feel. This isn't meant to be a restaurant with over-the-top, exotically spiced menu offerings... but if you are looking for a place to go for good, home-cooked breakfast food, I would recommend this place. read more

I just went here recently on a Sunday and we had a bigger party. We called ahead and didn't have to wait. Our server took our order yet somehow forgot to take my brothers order. This is really the only reason that I am docking a star. He had to get up and tell her what he wanted. The majority of us ordered the red velvet French toast. The cinnamon roll French toast was my favorite but I think I found out my second favorite. Although it is sweet, it does not need syrup or anything. Overall, good experience as usual! read more

As always....my husband and I like to try out new breakfast spots after worship service on Sundays. We tried out Egg'lectic Cafe this past Sunday, and we were not disappointed! This is a cute little corner spot in downtown Wheaton. The service was OUTSTANDING! Our server treated us like we were her only customers.....always attentive to our needs, i.e. coffee refills, creamers (my husband LOVES the flavored creamers), etc. She constantly checked in on us...even though I eat slowly, she still checked in. I went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed! But with a group of 8 we only waited about 10 minutes for a table. Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and split our check 8 ways with no problem. I had the bananas foster crepes which were excellent and a side of bacon - also excellent. The portions were a good size - I brought home one of my crepes. The whole table had crepes and everyone thought they were great. If you order fruit crepes here be aware that they do use canned fruit for most of the crepes (except bananas and strawberries). I would go here again. read more

Great service, and the menu and decor are lifted straight from Egg Harbor Cafe. Unfortunately, the food is somewhat lacking. Everything is a little cheaper than Egg Harbor, but I'd rather pay $1 more and love my food than have something so-so. Omelettes and skillets are good, but not great. My family has been coming here for years. The food is pretty consistent, but lately the service has been rough. The waitresses always seem overstretched, and food can take 45 minutes after ordering to arrive. By the time it gets there, it's often dry and overcooked. I went here on a beautiful Sunday morning with my boyfriend for a brunch date, which I sometimes become reluctant about doing since tons of breakfast restaurants tend to serve unhealthy options, but I soon realized after viewing the extensive menu, that Egg'lectic Cafe did not fit into that category. There were tons of options for the healthy eater, and they actually sounded good, not just a bowel of yogurt and granola, but actual substantial meals. I chose the vegetarian egg white omelet with fruit and the egg whites were cooked perfectly, they were not bland, nor did I find myself picking at my food (as I do when I am disappointed in what I ordered). My boyfriend had the pumpkin stuffed french toast and the egg sandwich (there were so many options that he could not pick between one or the other, so he got both!) and he was crazy for the pumpkin stuffed french toast. He did enjoy the egg sandwich, but he recommends that the sandwich be served with a different type of bread. Overall, the experience was great, we even had a very engaging conversation with our server. The decor was a little tacky, and reminded me of Egg Harbor Cafe. I am not sure which one was built first, but it would be nice to enter a restaurant where they did not have so many hens and roosters around. read more

Went here for the first time on Sunday for mother's day lunch, so naturally it was packed. The atmosphere is pretty nice; it's casual, good for kids, and the cute decor they have going on is nice to look at. My only complaint is that the tables are packed pretty closely together, so you're better off going with a smaller group. The food was great though! I had a health nut omelette and fresh fruit; it was delish! Perfectly cooked, nice and fluffy! My mom enjoyed her eggs benedict as well. The service was very nice as well; our waitress was very polite! Surprisingly, we didn't wait that long for our either, despite how crowded it was. We will definitely be back! read more

We decided to take my brother and nephew out to breakfast on Memorial Day. So the 4 of us walked over for breakfast since I had a $5 off coupon. The food was okay and the service a bit slow, but not terrible. The issue came at check out when I presented my coupon. I was told by the hostess that they do not honor their coupons on holidays. The only restriction on the coupon is that it was not good on Sundays. So I asked to speak with a manager. The manager came over and again told me that they do not honor their own coupons on holidays even though that restriction is not on the coupon, She told me that they expect "their customers to be more tolerant of their decisions". I found being told that I was not tolerant to be offensive. I just spent $50 on breakfast, left a 30% tip for the waitress and was paying in cash so there would be no credit card fees and was being shamed by the manager.I explained that without the coupon I might have just as easily gone to Egg Harbor down the street whereby this manager started to denigrate that establishment. She finally honored the coupon but continued to try to shame me. I am fortunate to be able to eat out 3 to 4 times a week and have never been treated so poorly. Be careful if you go there with the many coupons they send out. Your better choice might be to just go to Egg Harbor which is actually better and no public humiliation. I might go back some day but would probably need an apology for the way I was treated. read more

I visited this great place again this week and this time I bought my dog! They have outdoor seating and Bella and I had just done a very long hike at the Marsh and were very thirsty and hungry! They bought out a bowl of cold water for Bella without even asking!! I ordered for both of us..Bella got two orders of the sausage! Everyone was so nice..all the customers coming in and out stopped to admire and pet my beautiful long haired shepard as did the staff...really...how cool is that!!! read more

My wife loves to come to this place when we're in the area. My wife couldn't see what she wanted on the menu, I told her to order what ever she wanted and they will accommodate her. It was not a problem. I ordered a skillet made to order and it was great. We arrived at lunch time, it was somewhat busy. We didn't have to wait longer than 15min. Our waitress was great. Service is not always that great, god forbid you don't look like a wheatoner, you might not get the over top service you deserve. This review is for the restaurant in the Wheaton Town Square. My parents treated my husband and I to breakfast here one Sunday morning. It was very crowded, and we waited about 10 minutes, but I could quickly see why it was packed. It's a charming restaurant, with farm/country decor, cozy and warm. Their menu is huge, with lots of egg dishes (obviously) to choose from, along with crepes, pancakes, french toast and waffles, and salads and sandwiches. I finally settled on their California omelett (mushrooms, green onions, avocados, cheese and sour cream) with hash browns and toast. It was wonderful. A huge omelet, enough to keep you full all day! The first couple of times I was here, the wait for our food was about 30 minutes - a bit slow for lunch. Also, our non-smiling server had way too many tables and it was impossible to get his attention. Today our food came out in a very reasonable amount of time but the server (who, like previous servers, quite obviously did not want to be there) brought my friend the wrong salad. When she asked the server about it, the server didn't apologize or offer to bring the correct salad. Granted, my friend did offer on her own to keep it, but I thought an apology would still have been appropriate. If you come during lunch, you may have to wait a few minutes for a table - even longer if you want to sit outside. Don't let the service here keep you away though, the food is worth a visit! read more

My girlfriend and I recently enjoyed breakfast here and needless to say it was a great meal. The service was fantastic. The meal was just as good. We both ordered omelettes, mine "The Works" which is essentially meats packed with onions and mushrooms, while she got the "Health Nut", each with a side of fruit and two delicious chocolate chip pancakes.
