We were excited to try Rosie's. We both ordered the omelette, mine with veggies and the other with ham. I sent back my omelette as I requested no mushrooms and I wanted grilled onions. First time no grilled onions and the second time with both raw onions and mushrooms. So I was very disappointed. It tasted good, but it took quite a while for the whole process. Maybe I was too picky, but I have found when waitstaff do not write things down, something goes wrong with the order. He didn't write anything and was taking it from memory. They did offer gluten free pancakes for my wife and one was not cooked all the way, while the other was great. All in all, I think if you do not deviate from the menu, it will be great. This is my favorite breakfast on the planet. I keep wanting to try their homemade biscuits, but what I order every time is just perfect every time. It feels like they could squeeze more tables in here, but they don't squeeze you at all. Space for families to eat and talk. I love the Norman Rockwell decor and the empty table to remember our troops. For sure come here. They are moving in October to Ferry street but taking the same theme. Noel, one of the owners was amazing. Very open , hospitable and it shows in the servers. Food was good but the package gives him 5 stars. But I will give only 4 as I was missing my toast and flapjacks when my eggs came out. But when I told the server she apologized and a few minutes later brought them. out. The only reason I bring out the missing item. Is to help them get better. Plus veteran owned. What a letdown... Last time we were here, i gave a five star review, and was so excited to come back for our anniversary breakfast. I am saddened to have to downgrade this place, but what a disappointment this was. We ordered a waffle and a German pancake. (The German pancake was what I had last time, and really was the main reason we came back...it was that good!) My husband's waffle came out, but no German pancake. We asked where mine was, and waitress (Susan) said it would be a few minutes. We told her we wanted to eat together (not a surprise since you would expect to eat together when you dine out). Her response was "I know", and she walked away. My pancake came out 8 minutes later (yes, as a Yelper, I timed it!). Sorry, this is absolutely unacceptable. Take back the first waffle, and remake it (not put it under warming lights, or worse, do nothing at all.) German pancake was half the size as it was last time. I am posting both pix so you can see! The owner was making rounds, introducing himself to people and asking them for an honest assessment of the food and service. I told him that, even though I was not dissatisfied, my potatoes in particular were cold. He responded to that input not only by bringing me another plate of much warmer potatoes, but also by bringing out a much bigger plate with Rosie's famous apple pancakes. Rosie's is such a cute diner! I really loved the diner aesthetic on the inside of the restaurant! It felt homey and traditional but with a modern twist on it still. The food was so tasty! I got the Rosie's Benedict and my friend got the Western Skillet! Both had good portion sizes and we still managed to finish our plates! There were also booths all around. The wall hangings were Norman Rockwell canvases. Our server was named Therese and she was professional, friendly and attentive - 5 stars. While we were eating, one of the chefs whose name is Zeke came out and brought us some fresh homemade salsa from the kitchen. Heard this place just opened and had to give them a try. Especially for breakfast!!!! Place has plenty of parking. Restaurant is well decorated. Kinda takes you back in time. They have seating for single and midsize to larger groups. When we arrived the waiting area was filled but after a few minutes we were seated. The owner was very nice and mentioned they where a-little short staffed and thanked us for being patient. Our order was taken right away but did take longer than usual to receive. However we knew they were short staffed so we just enjoyed our coffee while we waited to be served. They only have regular coffee but if you like something stronger try the Tibetan Coffee. I tried it and is was delicious. We also tried the Corn Beef Hash with Eggs (Sunny Side Up) and the Chorizo Biscuits and Gravy. Both were very good. On our way to Aurora Premium outlet mall, we decided to stop by Rosie's for brunch before getting our shopping skills on. As mentioned by others, they serve diner food in a diner like atmosphere, you feel a little bit transported back to the 50s. It was really busy when we got here, every seat was taken but finally got two seats at the counter. We got a friendly greeting from the owner (Oorah!!), former Marine, that was cool. I always wanted to be a Ranger myself. The apple pancake takes about 30 minutes and waiting is only an inconvenience when the waiting isn't worth it. Which it was not, the apple pancake was the star of the meal, not as heavy as Gail's Carriage's version (Des Plaines), this was lighter but still very satisfying. FYI, we got a reservation but we couldn't preorder our Apple pancake to speed things up. Duly note this - Gail's allows preorders because theirs takes about 40 minutos. The chili was very hearty and that would be great during any winter day. I thought the meatloaf sandwich was a bit dry. Plenty of pahking in this mall. I had the Rosie's skillet with poached eggs tasty very tasty I also sampled my wife's chicken sausage but the best was the sausage gravy from my daughters plate, that was to die for so all in all a great place for brunch. No problems with the staff, they were great. The decor was fun to look at. The food was hit or miss. Don't get the Egg's Benedict. We told him it was our first time and he shared the story of Rosie's. Everyone was very nice and the service was good. My mom got the corn beef hash. It wasn't what she expected. But she always gets home made corn beef hash from Harners so it was just different. For her side she chose the grits and that was delicious. I got the vegetarian skillet. I really liked it. I got some good size mushrooms and it also had onion, tomato, broccoli, and cheese. I like my egg on top to be over medium and they were cooked perfectly. I got the flapjacks as my side and they were good. But I would definitely get grits instead of flapjacks next time. I say it's definitely with going.
