I love this place almost entirely because of the FREE swedish pancake everyone gets. How awesome is that?! Why doesn't every breakfast place do this? Anyways, on to the stuff you gotta pay for. One thing you MUST try here is the cinnamon roll french toast. How sinfully delicious does that sound?! They go and dunk that stuff in egg batter and serve it up with some sweet sticky syrup as if a cinnamon roll wasn't bad enough for you. Get it with some fresh delicious berries and you've just made it a tad bit more nutritious. The omelettes are pretty good. I wish they'd stuff just a little more ingredients in them though. I prefer their scrambles and benedicts. They use fresh and tasty ingredients and serve them up in generous portions. With the great food, reasonable prices, and friendly service, why would you go anywhere else? read more

My husband and I have been going to Eggs N Things in Camarillo for many years and it's always been fabulous in every area but not today 12/3/21. We sat at the counter which we do often. The counter was dirty, the condiments were not refilled and we couldn't get anyone to do so. No pepper shakers on the counter at all & when we asked for some the waitress gave us a shaker that barely had any in it. Our food came and the eggs were cooked well even though we asked for medium. Bacon came soft and we asked for well down and crisp. The atmosphere was different too, no one was happy. A big thumbs down for the management something is definitely off. read more

Seriously, guys... This is my hometown, and we are dragged here every time we come "home" to visit. This place has been a long-time favorite of the locals for as long as I can remember. If it weren't for the free Swedish pancakes (everybody mentioned) ... this would just be on par with Denny's (maybe even a tad worse... I feel like I should apologize - but can't). A nice breakfast place. I went with the Yelp recommendation, Swedish Pancakes (free, don't order unless you want more), Cottage Fries, and yes, the service was good. I tried the hash browns, french toast, sausage, and eggs. All a decent fair. The decor was pleasant, it made the most of a rectangular room. Awning indoors, painted walls made to look like an outdoor cafe, newer fixtures, mainly booth seating. $30 for two adult and one kid's meal. A tad expensive, but it didn't break the bank. I liked it much better than Denny's or iHop, by far. Besides, I'm a big supporter of the mom and pops restaurants. If you're in the area, give it a go. It's a quaint restaurant tucked into the corner of an old plaza in Camarillo. I like these plazas much more than the new ones they built across the freeway for Target and the big stores. They feel so much more homey and inviting - almost like you know every shop is going to be a small business, catering to locals only. It just has a great feel about it the moment you get there. And that doesn't stop when you walk in either. The hostesses and servers and friendly as all hell. Smiles abound in this place. It can get a bit busy though, so be prepared to wait, and if you have a big group, call ahead even. Couldn't hurt, right? A party of two (like us) didn't have any trouble getting a table within ten minutes. By the way, if you get there really early (opens at 6am I think), you should not have any problems. One other thing - service is fast. Even when the place is packed the food comes out in a short amount of time. Very quick and friendly service - what more could you want? Great food! That's what else you want! And this breakfast/lunch place has it. We came here for the breakfast. I had a craving for some pancakes, and she had a craving for some hash or eggs Benedict. Hash won. But let me tell you what makes Eggs-N-Things really unique. Swedish pancakes. Deliciously light, exquisite Swedish pancakes topped with a drizzle of jam and a hint of powdered sugar. One free to each customer! It's the icing on the cake. If you're not familiar with a Swedish pancake, it looks a bit like a crepe. In fact, it might be made exactly like a a crepe. I have no idea. But they're light, thin, and did I mention delicious? Each serving is more than enough. And I've heard omelets are pretty good here too. Every patron is greeted with a complimentary crepe topped with a fruit compote as a bit of teaser and welcome to Eggs N Things... French Toast loaded with fresh fruit with whipped butter and Maple syrup is a standbye... Banana Walnut Pancakes are light and fluffy perfectly browned and also served with Whipped butter and Maple syrup also good. The California Omelet with crispy Bacon and hash browns extra crispy was also prepared as ordered served with a bagel and cream cheese. Not to mention the side of homemade salsa. I will just start off by saying that I like this place. I ordered the pork chop breakfast and while the chops themselves were a little overdone, the rest of the plate made up for it, for the most part. Had the chops not been overcooked, I would have given this place 5 stars. We arrived on a Saturday morning, and the place was PACKED, especially with old people. That's a great sign because everyone knows that old people LOVE themselves some breakfast. We got seated without that much of a wait since we were only a party of two. The waitress was very pleasant and had a really strong knowledge of the menu. Since the place was packed, we expected a wait for our food, but the chef sent over complementary fresh Swedish crepes with powdered sugar and mulberry jam. They were DELICIOUS!! My advice for people that plan on eating here is to get the "cottage fries." They are sliced potatoes deep fried so that they are crisp outside and soft inside. Great spot! Although there usually a wait on a Saturday or Sunday, especially for larger parties, it's worth it! Once your seated the service is snappy and they know what they are doing! All dishes are tasty with plenty of options and a large amount of food! I actually enjoy the coffee here too! When busy breakfast joints make their coffee in large batches, it is usually watered down....but not here! I don't mind the coffee and go through at least 2 cups! A must go! Eggs N Things is a really nice, laid-back breakfast joint. I've been there several times now and I always leave with a smile! The bendy straws are great! No one uses those types of straws anymore! The decor is very casual and you can tell that people are regulars there and that's a good thing! Everything you could need for your breakfast is on the table already (hot sauce, creamers, jam!). They are quick to serve coffee and those gratis little pancakes! Those are very good and a nice little "appetizer" for your breakfast. The menu has a nice variety of eggs n things! Pancakes are quite good, biscuits are puffy, hash browns are standard and the omelettes are hearty and filling with excellent flavors. The California omelette is a true representation of California egg cuisine by including those delicious avocados! You have your choice of including biscuits, toast and potatoes or fruit cups with your meal and if you choose a biscuit you can also add hot gravy for $2.50. If you're looking for a yummy, filling, well-priced value, then check out Eggs N Things and they have more than eggs! Breakfast Breakdown: The Food: Delicious! Food was decent for a chain breakfast style restaurant, coffee is the typical mass production poor quality from a gallon can. Server got our order but then left dishes piled up and left my coffee empty as she and bussers walked by as if they had something better to do on a very slow morning. I get the crepes with berry jam (pretty basic, but yummy) and 2 scrambled eggs, coffee and OJ. It's convenient, and the prices are very fair, and the staff is attentive. I haven't tried anything but the breakfasts, but I plan to. It will be a regular spot for me in Camarillo. read more

I usually order one of the daily specials - a unique omelet or if I'm feeling decadent, the breakfast base for the day (pancake/waffle/cinnamon toast) smothered in fresh fruit. Sunday early afternoon breakfast at Eggs and Things in Camarillo. Decent option for their specialty, breakfast. We had a veggie omelet and a Spanish omelet at our table. Each offered with a choice of several style of potatoes (or fruit I believe) and a toast or biscuit option. Fairly full upon arrival though coming here after 12pm, we were able to get seated right away. Not a fan of the type of cheese used on the omelets here, though I asked for light on cheese so that helped. Mom and pop feel to this place with a booths inside and some bar type seating as well. This Camarillo location is by far the worst location. Ordered Sausage and eggs. Sausage came out really cold. Asked for them to remake it assuming they would remake the whole thing but they just remade the sausage and kept the same eggs which were cold by the time the sausage was ready. When I spoke to the manager about our dissatisfaction they said that next time we should ask for a manager instead of asking our server to take care of it and then proceeded to charge us full price. $13 dollars for a cold plate of breakfast. read more

After a long Memorial Day weekend I had the opportunity to see my out of town guests off with breakfast at a local spot. Nothing fancy just breakfast before they hit the open road. What I got was a scratchy mouth and an apology. All I wanted was breakfast. Understanding that accidents do happen, I was as patient as I could possibly be. But what I found in my omelet was completely unsatisfactory and too much to downplay. There were large pieces of scouring pad in the eggs. You couldn't see them as the eggs were covered with cheese and what not. But when you took a bite OMG! Choke already. Dug the pieces out and showed the staff. They took it back and didn't charge us for it. Didn't order anything else. Too scared too. How embarrassing. Won't be coming back here again. Poor attention to detail behind the scenes. So like I have said before the restaurant is always really good and the service is phenomenal but today I hate the worse crepes ever. So apparently they changed it up there and are trying a new batter not a fan at all. The crepes were one of the biggest reasons any one would go there. Since I was a kid, my family has loved going to Eggs n' Things for events like Mother's Day, birthday breakfasts, and sometimes just for Sunday brunch. My mom decided today she really wanted to get a waffle from them, since we haven't been able to for quite a while with Covid. She was going to pick it up on her lunch break on her way home, so I told her what I wanted, a burger, and she ordered it online. Unfortunately, she got a waffle with no butter and no whipped cream, which she had explicitly made sure was added on the online order. My burger looked like someone had attempted to play soccer with it in the box, it was completely outside of the bun and there was no fries. My mom found this out on the way home when she decided to check at a light and immediately called to complain. They offered a replacement for the waffle at a later date and nothing for the burger, nor a refund of any kind, including the tip she left online. I am not someone who complains about food if it's even remotely close, I know things happen, but this was honestly one of the worst offerings I've had from any restaurant and certainly below the standard I had set from my past experiences at Eggs n' Things. I went to the restaurant because my mother did not have time to return herself and the manager again did not offer any version of a refund. She seemed mad that i came at all after she offered my mom a waffle and again, nothing for the missing fries or messed up burger. She overlooked the burger once again as we spoke, until I made a point to reiterate that they didn't even give me what we paid for, that the waffle was not the only problem, and I noted how absurd this was. She returned a few minutes later with a small side of fries, some whipped cream in a box and a "complimentary Swedish pancake" that felt like a bribe. A bribe that we would have gotten anyways if we had just eaten there in person because those COME WITH nearly every meal, including both of the meals that we ordered, which we know from eating there in person many, many times over the years. Found this restaurant on yelp while vacationing in the area last week with my daughter and grandson. We were there on a weekday morning, and it was quite crowded. After ordering, we each received a complimentary swedish pankcake. Delicious! I ordered their fresh strawberry pancakes and it was wonderful. Our waitress was good about keeping our coffees refreshed. Even with the crowd, we didn't have to wait long at all for our meals to arrive. I'm sure we'll be here again on another trip! read more

We've been going to Eggs 'n Things for years and we've never been disappointed. In fact, when we do go somewhere else (if we're out of town) we always compare it to Eggs 'n Things.
