Recently I have been so upset with this restaurant. Christmas Eve breakfast was nonexistent. We went in, sat down and were ignored for over 10 minutes. People who were seated after us were greeted right away. The place wasn't busy either because it was pretty early. We ended up leaving and going to Cracker Barrel and had great service and a nice breakfast. The next time we tried eggs up it was awesome. Prompt service, good food, and like it used to be. We went back a few weeks after this and it wasn't great again. We did get seated, but the server ignored us, it took forever to order and she didn't even refill our coffee. We didn't even get a chance to ask her because she would run past us without even looking and I didn't want to talk with my mouth full. Luckily the food was good, but with the server, her tip reflected her lack of service. It was around 15%. She picked up our money and said "oh so I see you liked the service" and had such an attitude. I have worked in the food industry for over 20 years and I would NEVER EVER speak to my patrons like that. I always tip appropriately. After that interaction we didn't go back for months. I was done. Unfortunately Sundays aren't great days for open restaurants around here. So I begrudgingly went back to eggs up. We were seated quickly, server was overwhelmed but was fine, but the food this time was not good. I asked for my potatoes to be crispy. They came out hard and black, but some of them were edible. My bacon tasted sour and off. The best part was the french toast. It then took our server over 20 minutes to find us for the bill. I am so discouraged now...I really don't want to go back again. Also- they redid their menu. Some familiar favorites are gone and they've added some things as well. Their prices have gone up again too. I love supporting local, but with how expensive things are now, I can't afford to have bad food. It's such a bummer. read more

What I like about Eggs up Grill Lexington is that, even though they are very busy, staff look happy to be working there. The overall mood is friendly. The restaurant is clean and attractive. I'm usually with small children, and staff is cordial and polite. I have to eat gluten-free, so I appreciate the gluten friendly pancakes. It feels so nice to be able to go to a restaurant and have all your expectations met. We were able to join the waitlist through yelp (which was super convenient since we drove over an hour to eat here). When we got there I checked in and got the text that our table was ready in a couple of minutes. Our server, was Bianca. While ordering she asked me if she can take my toddler's order first so that the kitchen can start on it. How considerate and smart of her. She then took the rest of our orders. True enough my toddler's order arrived within 5 mins. All in all, food was great, portions were great, everything in our order that we requested for was accomplished (soft scrambled eggs, extra crispy home fries, medium steak) service great and the price was right. My husband and I are new to the state and we decided to try this quaint diner style breakfast joint out. We have been back every other week since! They are friendly and clean and the food never disappoints. One time they were busy and put bacon on my waffle sandwich instead of the sausage but the waitress was quick to rectify the situation and it was delicious. This was my first time at this place - as I do not live in SC. My friends brought me here as part of a surprise trip for my birthday. The service was pretty good for the most part - our waitress was very sweet and she was quite helpful. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (mediocre) with a side of potatoes (oddly were very VERY under-seasoned) but once I threw some salt on there, they were pretty tasty. I also ordered a bananas foster french toast, which is probably easily the best thing they have on their menu (I mean obviously I don't know for sure, but just order it.. trust me). My friend had like a build your own omelette type of situation going on, and she also ordered the sweet potato pancakes on the side (skip that - I wanted to like them but the main turn off was the texture that the pancakes ended up being... super wet... ick). My other friend ordered some type of omelette as well with a half waffle on the side. The waffle was decent, but nowhere near even in the same postal code as that french toast. Overall, I thought this place was pretty cute and was worth the visit. I would definitely go back at least one more time, just to get that french toast, if nothing else! read more

I don't like the fact that if I drive up and sign in I could be there for such a long time because people go online and roll up and jump ahead I was the 4th on the list for almost 40 min as one after another kept coming in. Suggestion is zipper it. If a family walks up and signs in and the group online comes up alternate both lines they can wait just like me and tell them it will be another 10-15 min and lastly as I wait in line waiting for a table and see several tables empty, fill them and hire more people. Sorry, very hangry when waiting for food after 40 min, so, if you don't mind waiting for good food and you've got time then this is the place to be. read more
