What a super place to go for breakfast! In fact, my family has gotten me gift certificates for this restaurant. The food is always good and the portions are more than enough for me. The coffee is great as well. It can be busy and crowded at times because it is that good but it's worth waiting the few minutes it can take to be seated. Give them a try here in Lexington or they have other locations I understand. I don't think you will be disappointed. I haven't been yet. read more

After absolutely loving Eggs Up for years, I am disappointed to say that today was the last time my family will be eating here. I took my two young children for breakfast, by myself. I ordered a sandwich on a brioche bun and home fries. The brioche bun was a cheap hamburger bun, and the potatoes weren't cooked/hard. Then, my sixteen month old son got sick. Obviously this is not the restaurant's fault, but multiple waitresses and the hostess walked by, saw what had happened and did nothing. I certainly didn't expect them to come over with a mop and bucket that instant, but it would have been nice if someone had offered to bring some extra napkins, or paper towels so I could clean my son/the table up. I had to wait for our waitress to finish chatting for another five minutes before she would bring me my check so I could pay and get my son cleaned up and out of there. We've been loyal customers for years, but this just felt unacceptable. read more

Eggs Up Grill provides above average quality food for a decent price. If you go at a peak time like Sunday lunch, you should join the waitlist early on the Yelp app. In our experience this past Sunday, we were behind multiple large groups and the restaurant isn't set up to handle that. We waited and we waited as all the large groups ahead got to push tables together for their parties. Finally they came to us and told us they were going to push a table up to a booth and we said okay. When they took us to our table they informed us they were separating us. It was a bait and switch, and we could have done this much earlier (if we had wanted to separate) as a lot of parties of 2 and 4 had been sat while we waited (and they were behind us on the list). And to top it all off, there was a party of 8 behind us that also had been waiting patiently. And the other hostess gave that party of 8 two tables pushed together because my party of 6 had already consented to the crappy split that was told to us wouldn't be a split. So basically we waited nearly an hour so we could be together, and they split us anyway, and gave a party behind us a non-split table, instantly after they started walking us to our split seating. I was angry but said nothing, because the staff knew they were wronging us, and there was nothing that they could do to fix it besides making us wait even more. Everybody was hungry and grumpy already, so we sat down and ate. Really disappointed to be treated this way. It was completely unnecessary. read more

The food was delicious and the staff was wonderful. Two in our party are gluten free and they even had GF waffle and pancake options - hooray! The food came out quick and everything was super tasty. The omelets were wonderful, the yogurt parfait was scrumptious, the GF pancakes were amazing (they tasted just like regular pancakes!). The restaurant was clean and has a good vibe; it's comfortable and welcoming. It's like a modern family-run diner without any greasy spoons - very bright and happy decor with lots of families enjoying their breakfast. The menu has a lot of variety. There are usually long waits in weekends but they have a waitlist on Yelp. It's clean. The food and service are okay it really depends on who's working. I'd like it to be more consistent but it is what it is. The blueberry muffins are very good. I would not recommend the corned beef hash as it's grizzly. I like the home fries and the home fry bowls if they are crispy. The bathrooms are single person and this is an issue when they are busy so all in all it's not bad but it's not great. read more

Visited 12/10/17: We couldn't believe that there was another location in Lexington, so we had to try it to compare :) I was very skeptical about the quality of the Lexington location vs Columbia location. As we waited outside,FREE coffee and heat lamps, 20min wait like they said. What's cool is you can have them text you when your table is ready and check the Yelp ap to see how many people are ahead of you on the waiting list! My wife had the Mason Dixon and I had the Steak & Eggs with Sweet Potato Peacan Pancakes. Well, we didn't talk much when the food came lol The Lexington location may be better than the Columbia location! All I can say is that Eggs Up Grill is very consistant with their quality cooking, regardless the restaurant location. We will definately be back for more! It is always great to get together with my Daddy and two of my sisters, Sher and Edy but it it awesome to gather together at Eggs Up Grill-Lexington! This week I tried the Red Velvet Waffle!!! OMG, I died and went to heaven...they were served with raspberry compote which made each bite sing. As always, the staff members were all very helpful and friendly. Best breakfast place in Lexington, hands down. The cooks sing -- maybe that's the secret to those heavenly waffles! The wait staff is completely on it every time and they go over and above all the time. I'd love to call out the best servers, but I'd just be listing ALL of them. The owner is always there bussing tables and keeping everything running smoothly. It still surprises me how well the staff gets along. The servers love the cooks and praise their culinary talents! Everything on the menu is worth getting out of bed for -- especially the blueberry pancakes! Not in the mood for breakfast? Try the Tuscan BLT for lunch! Don't be discouraged by the long lines. ORIGINAL* We have come here a couple times in the past and I've always loved Eggs Up Grill's food. In the past, our service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. This time however was different. Our server's name was Robin and she did not stay on top of things. Once we sat down it took 10 minutes before our server even showed up to the table. Once we ordered our drinks, or server completely FORGOT to give them to us, so 15 minutes later, I had to grab another waitress to get our waters. After seeing that she forgot, Robin didn't apologize and tried to act like nothing happened. She then continued to forget to bring us things and refill our drinks. The food was good as always, but our server turned our experience into a disappointing one. We may not be coming back for a while, unfortunately. read more
