The store continues to go down in quality of food. for a company that has eggs in its name. They need to learn how to cook eggs again over easy eggs hard as a rock asked for extra crisp on the potatoes, but the potatoes were like mashed potatoes they were so old, there was no way that you could crisp them and the flavor was terrible. I think the store runs its self no one in charge no one walking around talking to customers girl at the front counter just standing there doing nothing. The worst part is someone in my neighborhood actually works for this company and drives an Eggs Up vehicle, I'm really disappointed. This will be my last trip to Eggs Up in Somerville, and from what I understand from other friends and neighbors they've already stopped going. read more

This is our favorite go-to breakfast place in Summerville area! The sweet potato praline pancakes are delicious! (trust me, the name is the healthiest part to them- does NOT taste like sweet potatoes but we love them anyway) and the cinnamon sauce syrup for them is amazing! It seriously makes me not want to go anywhere else! The offered free delivery during pandemic which I ordered for my bday! The peaches n cream pancakes are a favorite of my husbands. They also have turkey sausage which is a plus for me and a large menu of other items-plenty if variety! Outdoor seating, indoor tables/booths and diner top seating available! We stopped in yesterday morning for breakfast and were immediately met with warm greetings. Our waitresses were sweet, warm and funny and made us feel at home. As soon as I mentioned being Celiac, she took her time and alerted the kitchen and assured me that my needs were understood. We saw the plate when it was placed in the window and the toast I could have around my food was on my plate. My husband and I both cringed at the thought of having to send my pkate back but that did not become necessary. The manager caught the mistake and came over to explain that my food was being remade. He and our waitress apologized profusely and in the end everything was done exactly right. Come to find out, the manager is also Celiac and so he caught it right away. It is hard to find Celiac friendly and safe restaurants. Most don't understand or dont take us seriously. They think we are all fad dieters-we're not! Our life depends on safe, gluten free food! This place is exactly what a Celiac dreams of! We will be back as often as possible. This place is a keeper. read more

I gave this restaurant 5 stars on Google. Today they dropped down to a 1 star. Now granted I came in at their busiest hours on a Sunday but still does not give them to treat a regular customer, like myself, like I have covid. Took over 1 hour to get my food and then I still had to ask for utensils and my drinks. Made it home just to find out my food under and over cooked. Make that make sense! Turkey bacon was raw, Turkey patties were burnt, home fries needed to stay home and quarantine the way they looked. They looked like potatoe ice cubes to give you a visual. On top of everything else they made my bacon,egg,and cheese sandwich on white bread with waffles as my bread. Smh. Please hire more people because I became instantly claustrophobic with the overpopulated waiting area. read more

This location was convenient for the day. It's clean not crowded and friendly. Food was good. Grits were cold probably because my food sat as my friend's foods were being cooked. We take our guests here on a regular basis. Great breakfast spot, clean, and plenty of options. They have a special right now that includes pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon syrup. The pancakes need a lot more pumpkin flavor. They were disappointing. But the cinnamon syrup saved the day. I give them a five because it is one of our favorite spots, and we've tried probably half of the menu by now and never had a complaint. There's something for everyone -- vegan options, omelettes, breakfast bowls, parfaits, pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash. Everyone can find something to fit their fancy. This is a decent option in Summerville given there are so few places like this. The service was a little off but the breakfast included all your typical breakfast favorites. It was good, just good. The hostess just motioned to seat us without really saying a word. We thought they even missed a patron in front of us. The server was okay. She asked you to repeat the most basic order and even tried to take it before I was done. That is no bueno lol. If you're in Summerville and looking for breakfast, you won't be disappointed stopping here. We had the pleasure of coming on a Saturday morning and the crowd was good but not too heavy. We were seated in about 10 minutes. We were greeted by one of the sweetest servers. I can't remember her name, but she was from Indiana I think. I love when the server is quick with the top recommendations for first time visitors. I started with a cafe latte and it was outstanding. The whipped cream on top was the start of a beautiful breakfast at this grille. I chose the the house corned beef hash omelette and there was no disappointment in this choice. The breakfast potatoes, which accompanied the omelette, were cooked to perfection. I love when the cook gets the potatoes right. You don't know how many times I have ended up with slightly burnt or hard breakfast potatoes... but I digress. The omelette was light and fluffy just how an omelette should be. I gave this place 5-stars because it was top notch from entry to exit. Service was spectacular. Parking is easy and plentiful. Location is easy to find. We just moved to the Knightsville area and really wanted a go-to breakfast spot. This isn't it. The food is "ok". To be honest I find Waffle House to serve better food. But I can actually deal with ok food if the place is nice and the staff are good. What made this a huge no for us today is the environment. We were sat towards the back. Every person who clears a table or brings a dirty dish back slammed it in the bins and would throw them causing the most abrupt noise. My husband and I could barely carry a conversation before being startled by dishes banging or glass slamming into these bins and trash cans. There was no awareness. You almost thought they were angry. I have sat near spaces where dishes are placed and put after a table clearing. There is a way to do that and CARE. I was also lucky enough to sit where they prep silverware which also seemed like the spot for "recess" where employees would yell across me to the bar area at someone, talk crap about one another or the customers they were there serving. It is very unprofessional and just loud. The 80s electronica music didn't do it for us either. We got through our meal as fast as possible because we just wanted to get out of this establishment. Wife and I got sick today immediately after eating here. This is the only place we ate this morning so there's no question. Cobb salad had mushy avocado on the side (wtf) that looked/smelled/tasted off. Took one bite and was done with it. Chicken looked/tasted re-cooked from frozen. Wife ordered scrambled eggs and received what looked like a flattened yellow pancake/egg. There was zero seasoning on anything. Hostesses seemed lost like they were new, cooks looked confused fumbling around with tickets multiple times in the food window, etc. Just felt like we were witnessing a high school Home EC final and everyone was failing. I've ordered from here twice via DoorDash and thought the food was very mediocre. We then decided to visit the restaurant for the first time on Christmas Eve. The two of us ordered very simple meals yet the food never made it to us. 45 minutes in, we asked our waiter how long the wait was going to be and she said there were still 4 orders in front of ours. We waited another 5-10 minutes and didn't see our orders in the window and thus left. I gave the review 2 stars instead of 1 because of the simple fact that it was almost Christmas. read more

Today was a family and friends training day. We didn't know thatwe just were so excited and followed the crowd . The manager invited us to stay anyway. Turned out we did know people. Caleb a band mate. The food was really really good the hash Benedict was amazing I love the holiday sauce. I haven't had a really good Hollandaise sauce in a few years and this one was really good. My picky eater loved the burrito she got. I've lived in Summerville for over a year now and have never tried eggs up grill. Today I decided to try it. After entering the store I quickly realized this is not a customer oriented restaurant. As I came in I was just looked at and then told to sit where I want. Customers after me received the same treatment. I unfortunately did not wait to see if the food was any better. Service goes a long way. I can be ok with mediocre food , if the service is great. If the staff doesn't care if I'm there , then I don't want spend my money there. The food could have been amazing. This used to be one of our favorite breakfast stops, but recently noticed that service and food quality are going downhill. I usually am not one to send my food back, but the last time we were here I was served the most disgusting looking bacon I've ever seen and it was stone cold. This morning the breakfast potatoes were burnt to almost black and contained unidentifiable scraps and were cold. Of course both the bacon and potatoes were replaced, but something that looked so unappetizing should not have been served in the first place. We've been to the other Eggs Up Grill's in the area and have never experienced this level of service from them, so it's definitely a problem with this location. I truly hope the management takes notice and corrects these issues as we really would like return one day. read more

My husband tried them out a couple of weeks back and said the food was bland. We went together this morning and I feel the same. The restaurant is very clean and the waitresses were all very nice. For that reason I'm giving 2 stars if it wasnt for that I wouldnt give 1 star. We ordered the biscuitwich and the Mason Dixon. The descriptions sounded delicious. Presentation was great and the food LOOKED delicious but they must have cooked the flavor away. The biscuits were hard and seemed like they were microwaved. Ordered Mother's Day brunch as takeout. Ordered family order for 4, with a side order of blueberry pancakes and 1/2 bacon, 1/2 sausage patties. My blueberry pancakes did not come, but I got a cup of blueberries to put on my cooked pancakes- NOT BLUEBERRY PANCAKES. The meat was all bacon (not the half bacon/half sausage patties) and their bacon is so thin and soggy. I ended up making breakfast at home anyways, and this was a waste of money. I want to start this review by noting that I have eaten here about four times and always found the food good, service good, and the manager to be present. However, I heard today from my doctor a very believable story about a major fit of vomiting he is absolutely sure was from a so-so-looking chicken wrap. Normally, I wouldn't pass on this info in a review, but I read about the 1-star rating from the person visiting from New Hampshire. He was absolutely sure he got sick from eating a Cobb salad here. Two absolutely sure votes for food borne illness here is concerning. I also note that DHEC has not inspected this restaurant in 2019. Finally, read the owner's reply to the Cobb salad review. He said he was sure he got sick and the owner just glossed over it. Not good. I think I will be forced to avoid this restaurant now, and that pisses me off because it is within walking distance.
