Anytime my family come visit, we coming here for breakfast at least twice! Service is immaculate, even when busy! Food is amazing every time! Hey everyone! Me, and my new family, decided to try the "Eggsellent Cafe" on Kiest (in Oak Cliff) because one of the matriarchs of the family was being honored for Woman's History Month. We were a group of 20 people all ordering everything from chicken fried chicken to chicken and waffles! The atmosphere was casual. We were all seated immediately with adjoining tables, which was a good way to accommodate such a large party. However, they only had ONE server for the entire table! Needless to say, we didn't get to eat together because while half the table was eating, the other half was still waiting for their food. Orders were wrong, and delayed for too long. I only ordered a salad with crispy chicken (pictured below) and I still had to wait for almost 30 minutes to receive my food. The salad was 'okay' but I didn't like their choice of greenery (spinach and spring mix) , it didn't have enough cheese for my taste, and they only had Ranch dressing, which I also had to wait for them to bring after I had already received the salad. Everyone ate their food (when they finally got it), but everyone could've just been hungry after waiting for so long! By only allowing one server to work such a huge gathering was an epic fail for the "Eggsellent Cafe" in my opinion because it was a special occasion and they missed the opportunity to impress. I don't blame the server because he did the best he could under the circumstances, but it was just poor management and it definitely impeded the overall satisfactory with the entire experience. Our guest of honor was the LAST one to receive her meal, and they had to take it back twice because it was not what she ordered. You only get one chance to make a first impression and I feel this little cafe fumbled the possibility to become a family favorite. read more

Went here for Saturday breakfast. Was sat quickly. Drinks brought right away. My wife and I stayed traditional and ordered the 2x4. It was 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 2 pancakes. The eggs and sausage were okay. The bacon was very good and the pancakes were amazing. The pancakes tasted like cake. Our server took our order and never returned to check how things were. I had to ask an employee for the bill and to go boxes. Hence, the 4 star rating. read more

My cousins and I decided to do brunch today at the Kiest location. First of all, I didn't know this spot was even here. Tucked nicely away in my old stomping grounds in Oak Cliff. We met up at 12:30pm and were able to immediately be seated as there wasn't a crowd. Our party of 8 had a comfortable table with room for all of us. The menu has a plethora of food choices. I opted for the migas which consisted of scrumptious scrabbled eggs with cheese, tortilla strips, jalapeños, salsa and 4 warm tortillas. It came with has browns and I added a side of grits. To drink I had orange juice with no pulp. They aren't currently serving mimosas but it's okay. The food was plentiful and delicious. I killed my plate because the food was so good but it definitely was sufficient to take home leftovers. My daughter has the very berry French toast and breakfast patties. She said the French toast was very good but the meat was okay. Our waiter was extremely attentive and didn't shy away from our semi large group like some waiters do. We are a chatty group so we were there talking for a few hours until they needed to close up. But the staff did not rush us out. Service was beyond horrible the same lady that looked and walked passed us 10 times turned out to be as she said running the show.
