I finally made it into Eggslut in Beverly Hills. I had been to the one in Las Vegas and was left wondering what all the hype was about. However, this location helped me understand. I imagine the original in Venice is even better but this will do for those seeking a tasty and fun breakfast or brunch. They offer a limited menu. They have several breakfast sandwich options and a toast and dip. The dip I understand is very popular. I went for the sausage and egg and my husband for the bacon egg and cheese. They were so good! The brioche buns they come on are sooo good. I will be back to try the dip next time! The star of the show for us was the truffle hash brown tots. I am not a truffle fan and I appreciated they were not overly seasoned with it. They were delicious and there were 8 tots so we could share them. There is no outdoor seating and limited indoor seating. They do a lot of UberEats and similar orders. So expect it to be busy and you may need to pay and eat on the street. Oh how the mighty have fallen. This used to be a guaranteed killer breakfast option, fast, tasty, great service and no better options around. Now, whew. I waited 20 minutes for an egg and cheese, it was so oily that the egg jumped out of the bun, and I couldn't even get it back in because it made me hands so oily. Which also made all the cheese slide out before I even took a bite. There's 407 people working, but no one is hustling. Just looking bored. The manager is taking up a seat at the counter, and the orange juice was sour. An older man ate and then wanted to be nice and throw out his trash couldn't find a trash can. The 407 employees didn't take note, finally a nice customer pointed one out to him. The good news? A Commissary is going in right next door. If you're a first timer, this is the dish to order. I personally find it disappointing. They take a mason jar, fill it with potato puree, crack an egg on top, sous vide the whole thing for about an hour, and garnish it with salt and chives. Not very fulfilling, and something you can make at home for a lot less than $9. Egg Salad Sandwich - Healthy serving of arugula and hard cooked eggs. A bit too oily. You can see and watch them cook as well which I like and they put a lot of effort into it. The menu is small but the quality makes up for it for sure! It's a very clean spot and it's everything I was expecting. Second-The food was just so good. I love a good breakfast sandwich and I got the bacon egg and cheese (no cheese for me) and it was perfect. First they put a great portion of bacon on. And it was cooked perfectly. Not to crispy the way I like it. The egg was expertly cooked to over medium. It was on a toasted brioche bun with just the right amount of ketchup. I was very impressed and I should've gotten another one! The coffee was just as good! Which I've been struggling to find good coffee here in LA. I believe the one at Grand Central Market is the OG location and by far the most popular outlet, but I've never had the chance to get to DTLA for a parking spot when it's still open. This one is attached to the Beverly Center, thus parking options are a given in the dedicated structure. You can't miss it: ground level street corner with large signage. I was in the area on a weekday morning with my mother, so this was a good non-busy time to visit. The staff were welcoming and efficient; after paying at the counter, our orders came out really quickly. We had the Fairfax and BEC. While I understand the allure of soft scrambled eggs and sriracha mayo to elevate flavor, I can't turn away from an over-medium egg and bacon. We finished every bite. The brioche buns are fluffy and now that they have biscuits, I'll probably plan to sub that in next time and wash it down with their OJ. Given the quick service and open seating, this was probably a better introduction to their food and a less-stress primer to prepare for the long lines and wait at GCM should I ever go to Eggslut there.
