We have tried number of their sandwiches but the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich is our absolute favorite. The bread is so pillowy and well toasted, the bacon is thick and crispy, the egg is nice and runny. Not to mention the chipotle ketchup spread, which ties the entire sandwich together. The sandwich is under $10 which is rare these days. It is located right inside Grand Central Market, so you'll have to pay for parking. Parking is in the structure attached to the food hall. It gets packed and cramped so be prepared for that. No validation either. Still worth a visit and they're usually pretty quick with preparing their sandwiches. We've gotten our order in a little over 5 minutes after ordering! Seating is limited too. Its better to just grab and go and find a table somewhere in the food hall. read more

Having lived in Las Vegas, I had always wanted to try Eggslut, as well as visit Grand Central Market. Let's get together with some girlfriends and do BOTH! We lucked out and found a spot right outside as someone was leaving; otherwise, you'd have to drive around to find street parking. It was mentioned to us by a friend that there was a paring structure nearby, but we didn't see it. Upon parking, we walked towards the entrance to the food market and I had never seen anything like it before. It was beautifully crafted on the outside and had a delicious food market inside. This inside restaurant market had such an incredible dining experience that I am still reeling from it. I was blown away by the sights, smells, and sounds of this culinary wonderland the moment I stepped inside. Beautifully designed, the market combines the intimacy of a restaurant with the excitement of a bustling marketplace. My friends and I went to EggSlut, which was the first place you saw when you walked up. It was centrally located between Donut Man and a Juice spot, so I tried the Donut Man while my friends tried the Juice spot. The Fairfax Sandwich is their classic and comes with cage-free soft scrambled eggs, chives, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, and sriracha mayo on a warm brioche bun. Though slightly gressy, the bun was sweet, and buttery, and you could tell it had been freshly baked. A delicate yellow color and fluffy, curdled texture characterized the eggs' cooking. As the eggs were arranged neatly on the bun, the chives added color, while the caramelized onions balanced the saltiness of the eggs, and the slight crunch of the caramelized texture added a delightful textural element. My initial reaction to Sriracha may on an egg sandwich was a bit skeptical. Can't miss it as it's smack dab in the middle and in front of the market with ample outdoor seating and a few stool bar seating. Food: I got the egg, cheese and sausage sandwich witth honey mustard aioli. This was what I expected with a runny egg on a brioche bun and a savory sausage patty. I wish you could customize the egg as I'm not a big fan of runny eggs. As for the uniqueness, I wasn't completely "wowed" with it. I mean, I kind of expected more for some reason. Summary: For being in the middle of DTLA and with all the offerings around town, this is okay. I mean it's fresh and hot with a steady flowing line and fast service. It's in the middle of a shopping center and pretty good, but I'd want to be able to customize my egg. The menu isn't huge and they do offer cheeseburgers and beverages, but I think this would be good if you have plans to not go far and want to fill up before you go exploring around DTLA. I have previously tried another soft scrambled egg spot and thought it was really delicious and nothing could top it, boy was I wrong. I do believe the other place is still delicious, but Eggslut is definitely far more superior than the other guys hands down. It's definitely worth the 2hr travel. The egg in its own has a fluffy, buttery, a little cheesy taste to it, but add that bacon and you will not regret it. The bacon gives that almost perfect sandwich the meaty and salty aspect it needs. If you visit with friends or family just know this place can get crowded so the lines do not stop, make sure someone grabs a table because it is super busy and sometimes getting a table takes time.
