I just love love love this place. But I'm afraid to post and then everyone will go and they'll be forced to move to a bigger space further away. I may be too late on that, because they are always packed. I get my orders take out. The breakfasts are a good size, so I always have leftovers. I get the Spanish skillet with chorizo and it is so delish. Get the side of sausage links. They are so good. With most egg orders you get a choice of toast or pancakes. If you ask for sugar free syrup, they have that too. read more

Went to the new Lindenhurst location. Waited 20 minutes to order, ok can live with that. After placing our order, waited another 20+ minutes to find out that they did not have the Red Velvet pancakes my daughter had ordered. We left at that point. Will not be back. This place is usually always good. But I ordered DoorDash just now and I just wanna say I don't usually receive customer service the way I get it here. They're always very nice and cautious about how they care for their customers. I talked to Nancy on the phone and she's very nice and provided me with good details when they ran out of what I ordered and was able to replace it with something else. 10/10 place is always great and very clean as well. read more

My wife and I came in this morning for breakfast. No greeting at the door, and we stood around awkwardly for a few minutes until a nearby table agreed to clear their stuff off the one remaining table so we could sit. No interaction with staff this whole time felt very odd. Once seated, we did receive menus and had coffee in front of us readily. I had the chicken and waffles, which was incredibly underwhelming. The chicken strips were previously frozen, flat and no flavor. The waffle was okay, but this $6.99 plate looked how I felt this morning - entirely uninspired, sleepy. Sadly, I could go down the road and get a fried chicken breast from Popeye's and would have gotten a much more scrumptious bite at the same pricepoint. It needs buttermilk, seasoning, an actual fry, not chef Mike. We are talking McChicken level flat, and hell the McChicken has more seasoning and flavor than the nonsense I ate this morning. I would gladly have paid $9.99, $12.99, for a chicken and waffles that someone gave a shit about instead of the bastard child I received on my plate. I was also really frustrated by how we were treated compared to other patrons. It is really clear that this is a "locals" restaurant. The wait staff was far more cordial, friendly, greeting people they knew at the door. My wife and I got served, but it felt entirely transactional. We weren't welcome today. If we didn't come, it would not have mattered. So here's the deal: If you're a local seeking a stack of pancakes or a basic egg/hash brown/toast breakfast with decent coffee, this place will do that just fine. If you're not a regular and expecting good food, hard pass and move on. You aren't missing anything here, that I can assure you. read more

I order over app. The food was hot and as advertised. Lots of food for $10 which to me was great deal. I love you can order ahead and pickup. I got a skillet and over easy egg everything cooked perfectly. My only negative they need cook with a-little more seasoning. I am giving 3 stars but that's because I don't want to kick a new business that might be going through hurdles still. I didn't take pictures of the food but I wish I had. The pictures from the Round Lake location look good- so I hope they get better at the Lindenhurst location. I will say no wait when we got in. We were directed to open table. There was empty creamers sitting on table still. No big deal. Waitress brought menus. We ordered coffee. Only one sugar substitute option. Again not a big deal. Coffee brought to us, but no silverware or napkins. Waited several minutes to get staff attention and she brought one set of silverware. Said she would bring more soon. Ok we can share a spoon. Food comes and no silverware still, but I asked when she brought the food. My food was ok, but I would have expected to be able to identify the veggies in the skillet, they were pretty overdone but not burned. Just more visually not appealing. I ordered toast and when she gave me my food, she asked again if I had toast or pancakes. I told her toast, she said ok ...she never came back after that My husband ordered strawberry crepes and what he got was a pancake rolled up that was horrible. I'm not sure if they don't know the difference or just used wrong batter but it was bad. It was had no syrup or powdered sugar on it, nothing to make it appear appealing. He asked for syrup and she grabbed one from the table next to us ( they had just left obviously unhappy with their untouched food- but I didn't hear the issue) anyway the waitress said sorry they don't have enough syrup for all the tables... ok. But when my husband poured his syrup it was thick and dark almost like molasses. We were ready to go quickly and no sooner had I pulled out my credit card than the owner was handing my my bill. No how was everything? Or anything cordial. I did not complain nor did my husband while there.... I don't expect that we will return and I do hope it's just and adjustment period. I had breakfast here about a month ago, the food was ok, service ok; but the place was filthy dirty. I looked up and the air return vent above my booth was filled with so much greasy dust I thought it was going to fall off into my food. It was terrible. I probably won't eat here again because of this... If they don't care about cleaning the front of the restaurant, I can only imagine how filthy dirty their kitchen is. read more

We love this place! It's a small place with hometown feel. The food is always fresh, made to order and cooked perfectly. Their homemade syrup is delicious! We enjoy coming here for breakfast but lunch is good too! The prices are great and The service is too. The servers are always friendly, attentive and thoughtful of our time. Good food friendly service! We stopped in at 1:30 today, since we were stopping by Ace hardware. We were greeted and made to feel quite welcome. The decor was quite kitschy. I loved it. They have an extensive menu woth nice specials and are reasonably priced. My husband ordered a hamburger, well done and I ordered the special omelet, as an egg white and light cheese. Both of our orders were prepared as requested...except the omelet was Fluffy, like a souffle! Amazing and wonderful, I've never had an omelet prepared this way. Then the cook tried to take the cheese off with his bare hands ! DISGUSTING ! This place is a hidden gem. Probably the best breakfast option in Lake County. The service is always super friendly. Highlights: Apple Pancakes: Excellent! They take 30 minutes to cook - but call ahead and they will start cooking them before you get there (I'd recommend calling 15 minutes prior to arrival). Eggs Benedict: Top notch. Luck was on my side this Sunday. We stopped into this family run storefront in a strip mall based on reviews on Yelp. I wanted an omelet, and I'm so glad I came to Eggspress. We got a table immediately in the place of about 15 tables at 11:15AM on a Sunday, but our hostess mentioned that there's usually a wait of about 1 hour during the same time. I guess Buddha heard my stomach growl and sent me some good karma. It's standard diner fare, but the quality is outstanding. I got a simple three egg omelet with cheddar cheese and onions with hash browns and pancakes. That was a lot of food, and I took the pancakes home. Hash browns were tasty and crispy, but the star of the show was the omelet. It's simply the best omelet I've had in Lake County in years! It was super fluffy. The finely grated cheddar was delicious, and the onions were lightly sautéed so that they still had a bit of a crunch. My dining mate had the Mediterranean omelet with feta, oregano, spinach, and kalamata olives and loved it as well. I'm scared to go back because I would never have waited an hour for breakfast, but the wait is a telltale sign that they've got a winning formula here. I'll go back undoubtedly.
