My girlfriend and I just moved to the apartment complex right next door with our dogs. I called to see if they had a patio and the cheerful woman who answered my question immediately followed up with the fact that the patio was dog friendly. Our server Paris was awesome and knowledgeable about the overwhelmingly delicious menu items. She brought our pups water and took the time to get to know us and tell us about the area. The food came out pretty quick and all was delicious from the cappuccino to the entrees. Check Your Check The food here is pretty good, but at what price? I mean literally, what price? Is it the price that is shown on the menu, or the price that showed up on our check when it arrived? The cheeseburger we were asked to pay for was 75 cents more than the cheeseburger we ordered off the menu. I questioned our server first. He mumbled something about an up-charge for cheese. He said something about "the computer." None of it made sense. I don't think it made sense to him either, because he never uttered a complete sentence of explanation. How do you charge extra for cheese on a cheeseburger? I've seen hundreds of menus over the years that read, "Add cheese for 75 cents." This menu said, "Cheeseburger," and named a price. I asked to speak to a manager. I think I got the owner. He didn't explain the overcharge. He didn't apologize for overcharging us. He almost rudely started to adjust the bill. He seemed to feel that I was wrong for asking about the overcharge. He seemed to want to get rid of me. Just as he was starting to ring up the new total, our server took out two dollar bills from his own pocket and gave them to me. The owner thought that was okay. This was one of the weirdest things I've ever seen in a restaurant. I took the bills and left because I just wanted to get out of there. Why was I overcharged? Why was the owner so upset at me about the overcharge? Why didn't either the server or the owner explain the overcharge or apologize for the overcharge? There are too many breakfast/lunch places run by honest people who cook good food. Why would I choose a place where I have to make sure I'm not being overcharged? Nope! Really not an okay experience at all. 7 of us with a 3, 11, and 13 y/o, came for a nice family breakfast. It was Memorial Day. We knew they'd be busy. I have a new emotional support dog and he's in training. They absolutely denied us inside seating because of him. We were okay when first put outside. It was a hot day and in the sun. We asked to move inside and they said "no because of the dog." We let go again as I am a new ESA owner. So we did our best to accommodate OURSELVES by moving tables, umbrellas, and chairs around to find more shade. Not much luck. The poor kids and I were miserable in the sun. My dog and I would stand against the building to find shade. We tried to make the best of our meal and family time. But then the poor service and communication escalated our poor experience. Our server did her best. Then drinks and food continued to come out individually and in sporadic timing. Nothing at the same time or together. Drinks were one thing, but the food was run as if the kitchen was making whatever they wanted and told to run it. Our 3 year ate last. His food was the last to come out. Took about 40 mins. Meanwhile, my side of scrambled eggs made it to our table before in about 3 mins. Very odd to us and our server. This before all of our drinks. Far more going on here that I won't bother to share. Then the last piece. I asked our server to speak to the manager. (I hate asking to speak to managers but this was really disappointing). A new bar assistant manager then arrived. We politely talked about the situation. Unfortunately, they were very clearly unequipped to handle the situation. I then asked if they could send out the owner, which I noticed the owner or main manager of sorts was running around inside the restaurant. The assistant manager, then came back and stated the owner said, " she said she is too busy and does not have time to meet with you." This was very unfortunate and by far more frustrating. As we exited to pay, I noticed the " owner" somewhat busy. I introduce myself and did my best to politely express our situation. She was not cordial or helpful at all. Not to mention not busy at all. Could have been helping expo the food window better, that's for sure. She then told me she did not care that he was a support animal. He's not allowed inside. No dogs are allowed inside any Eggstacy! I kindly mentioned that he is protected federally, and through the city of Scottsdale. To which, she then again stated she did not care to "report her." GLADLY! This is so unfortunate because their food is so good. The location is great. And we were looking forward to a great brunch together. This location used to be some other breakfast restaurant before and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a familiar name "eggstasy" two weeks ago when I drove by. I love Eggstasy on Shea location and couldn't wait to try here. It was Sunday 9:30am, wait was about 30 minuets. Fortunately they had bar seats available immediately and decided to sit there. I love egg benedict and can't help myself but order one every time I see one on the menu. They have so many different kinds of benedict available, I decided to try barbacoa one. Of the meat was cooked so perfectly soft and tender with great flavor, after eating one, I became full. Lots of calorie pack on this plate and requires a nap after eating breakfast here. I also tried their pancakes as I remember being really good from their other location and sure enough, it was so fluffy and soft. Even though the place was relatively busy, my party of 3 got sat right away. The server quickly introduced themselves and took our drink orders. One latte was ordered and it was smooth and delicious, but we had to ask for the foam on top cause it originally didn't come with it. For food, we ordered the Denver omelet, incredible omelet, and a side of buttermilk pancakes. The Denver omelet was good but the veggies were a little too crunchy; I wish it was a little more cooked for the omelet. The incredible omelet was cooked perfectly and the veggies were cooked just as the Denver omelet, with a slight crunch. The ham in both omelets though was high quality and absolutely delicious! Definitely incorporate the ham into your brunch if you can. The pancakes were fluffy with a slight crisp around the edges. I do wish the place carried pure maple syrup rather than pancake syrup made with high-fructose corn syrup. The restaurant did carry honey though so we ate the pancakes with that. Even thought the food was good, halfway into the experience the server started to neglect the table and forgot about us. It became so difficult to ask for simple things like honey, straws, and refills on water because there was no one around besides the hostess. In the end, we had to have someone get our waitress so we could pay for the food and leave. Besides the server debacle, the breakfast place was alright, so I would recommend it if you live close by. read more

My husband and I love, love, love this Eggstasy! The food is amazing, especially the skillets, and you can't go wrong with any of the pancakes or crepes. We order from this location all the time and the service is above and beyond. My husband picked up our order today, and I had ordered a hot latte. The server (I think his name is Steven) waited until my husband got there to make the coffee so that it would still be hot when I got it. Came here with my bf last Wednesday morning for a quick breakfast since it'd been a while visiting one of our fav. Spots! We were greeted by one of our regular servers Sabra who sat us in our signature booth with a view. I believe our server was Tia, such a doll, who is new to the staff. Go say hi to her she was top notch, fast, sweet and hospitable! I believe my bf ordered the chicken breast skillet with fresh fruit kabobs I ordered steak,eggs and hash browns, caramel macchiato , fresh squeezed OJand side of pumpkin cheesecake pancakes which were not a part of my macros but SO worth it, ha. They serve fresh squeezed OJ and grapefruit in addition to mimosas. This place is walkable for me, so I've been here several times. First the good; the finally changed out the brick hard muffins to traditional English muffins, so if they get it right, they're above average. But my 2 star rating is because they frequently get it wrong on the eggs... which is in your name. I get that poached eggs aren't very forgiving, but neither am I when it takes 25 MINUTES to correct! Seriously, didn't send it all back, just asked for a redo after showing that the yolks are rock hard. After several "they're working on its" later I finally had to asked a manager, and then he delegated back to the waiter. I finally told them not to worry about so I could finish my room temp meal and get out, which meant it arrived immediately after that. Note to chefs who kept justifying the delay because they were "slammed"- if you can't get it right the first time, prioritize the 90 second poached egg for a meal that's already been delivered instead of stacking it behind the 6+ meals I saw delivered while I was waiting. I came here to meet a friend for brunch. I was looking forward to giving this place a try because they have a huge selection. I went on at 11:30am on a Saturday and the restaurant was pretty full. Our server was excellent and the place is pretty clean and neat. In terms of food, perhaps I didn't get the "right" item because I opted for a lunch sandwich instead of their breakfast selection. Maybe that was my mistake. I ordered the first street panini, inclusive of chicken breast, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, mozzarella and a chicken sandwich with sun-dried tomatoes and pesto. The entree was 11.95 and inclusive of a side and the soup of the day. Overall, my taste buds were underwhelmed. The chicken was pretty good and not dry but it's hard to see the positives of my experience with the strong taste and scent of the sun-dried tomatoes.Typically, restaurants are aware of the potency of a sun-dried tomato in terms of taste but my sandwich was smothered. With such an intense on its own, the flavors of the tomatoes completely overpowered the rest of the sandwich. I forgot there was pesto mayo on the sandwich because I couldn't taste it. The soup was a creamy jalapeno soup which was note appetizing looking or tasting. The only flavor I could discern was cream. While I appreciate the sentiments of fries and soup with my sandwich, I'd rather have a better quality sandwich. Overall, if I were to go here again, it would be for convenience or the social factor of meeting up with a friend. I would order from the breakfast menu next time. For these prices, I know of many other similar joints that have me leaving satisfied. read more

I do apologize that I do not have photos for this review. My friends and I were so hungry we dove right in. First of, they are a super friendly bunch which was great but they over promise on the wait time. When I called they said they don't do reservations but they can put our name down when we are 10 minutes away. They said the wait should not be more than 10 minutes. So thats what we did. We got there in exactly 10 minutes and we asked about the wait and our name on the list, they apologized and said it will be another 10 minutes. After 30 minutes we were seated so a total of waiting almost an hour. If they weren't so friendly we would have left. My friend for the white raspberry is pancake that was delicious and the other got an omelette. I love eggs Benedict so I chose the pork belly Benedict and it was not good. The Benedict sauce was bland and the pork belly was absolutely dry. I did order the spam sliders so that made up for the food. It's pretty overpriced for the taste of the food. After the Postmates app oddly cancelled our order right before we arrived, Jill put in our order immediately and made sure we were taken care of with coffee. We knew it would be a long wait as they were super busy, so we sat and proceeded to watch as the restaurant became overwhelmed with more customers (seated and to-go orders) than Eggstasy had enough staff for. It appears there were a few orders that the kitchen may have messed up so at one point there was a To Go crowd of 8 pissed off people and counting. Jill was helping all of us in addition to at least two seated tables. She was getting very little help from management or the rest of the staff and everyone in the To Go group noticed. No one blamed her for the wait. A manager actually walked over at one point, angry and cursing at multiple staff members because he was apparently waiting for gift cards for another customer. He had the nerve to imply Jill was one of the waiters not moving fast enough??? Not true. And frankly, the cursing was not necessary or professional. Jill... if you're reading this. You did an AMAZING job today. THANK YOU. You should be managing that place. I hope your year is full of blessings. If anyone else has read this far into my review, thanks for staying & if you ever go to Eggstasy on a Sunday during COVID.... be prepared to wait an hour+ for your food. Take out orders are taken at the bar, where the wait person is already busy, and the environment is not conducive to placing an order. After waiting 25+ minutes, the order was only addressed after I checked to make sure it was in process. At the 30 min mark the order comes out, I get handed a bag and could have walked out without paying. When I asked the woman at the cash register to check me out, you would have thought I'd asked her to perform brain surgery. She finally figured out how to produce a ticket and I paid my bill. I've been to this place around a half-dozen times over the past four years (since my elderly mother moved into the neighborhood). I stopped going after around my fifth visit when I realized that every single time we went the food was poorly prepared, the service left much to be desired, and the prices were very high for what should be a casual dining experience. After about a one-year hiatus, we decided to give it a try again thinking things might have improved. It was, for sure, the last time we will ever go there. The food served to the five of us was cold, and two of us ordered the tuna salad sandwich, which both found to be inedible - incredibly bland, soggy bread, practically gross. The most any of us five ate of our meals was about 1/3 of the serving. The server was a young individual who was obviously inexperienced and we didn't want to cause her any grief, so we asked for to-go containers and made the excuse that we didn't have time to stay and finish. But as soon as we got home the food went into the trash. And if you want to know how inexperienced our server was, the pre-rolled napkin/utensils that they set the tables with only have a fork and a knife. We needed teaspoons to stir our coffees with. When we asked her for spoons for our coffee, she diligently brought out five large soup spoons. Brilliant. Speaking of which, if they are going to charge so much for cold and bland food, you'd think they'd have the wherewithal - especially since they could afford it at those prices (and let me tell you, they are not spending it on high-quality ingredients) - to stick a teaspoon in the serving set. read more

I came here off of a view from one of my friend's instagram stories. Off the bat the place was great, it looked clean and trendy. The hostess and waitress were so nice! Very helpful in helping us decide on what we wanted to eat. The food was really good. Two reasons why this place dropped two stars for me. My biggest pet peeve is having to ask for water. We live in the desert and regardless if it's 115 in the summer or 65 in the winter, my cup should never be empty because the air is too dry. The place was full but not busy enough or understaffed enough to be able to provide the attention every once in a while to make sure our pitcher was at a good level. I try to be as conscientious about staying hydrated and drinking water because it is so easy to forget. As I am sitting at the end of my meal trying to finish up my glass of water, I get through half my glass before I noticed a hair floating in it. Yuckkk. read more

I had enough food to make at least 2 meals! Their menu is extensive and has a lot of great choices so you'd never get bored there. The food is fresh, tomatoes were ripe and flavorful, lettuce crisp and fresh, breads are great. One of the best things about the place is that it is very open and light with lots of windows making the ambiance very comfortable. It's going to be our "go to" for breakfast in the area! read more
