Well this was a yummy evening. This place is really special. Cool vibe. Nice take on farm to table, local non GMO without being obnoxious, ( you know what I mean?). Case in point ... the enormous salty Bavarian pretzel that we shared as an appetizer! It was fresh, chewy, crunchy, just the right amount of salt. Then as a main course I enjoyed the special shrimp dish with risotto with a Peruvian red sauce splash of clam juice it was so good. The shrimp were large and tender, juicy and the dish was not over the top fishy which I really appreciated because I'm not a big fish fan. Anyway it was a really good meal. I went here on a Monday evening when the place I originally wanted to go to was closed, as so many restaurants seem to be on Mondays. EAT Gastropub was recommended by my future son-in-law, who knows how much I love good food at interesting restaurants. This place is all about comfort - both in food and decor, seating and serving. The staff was friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. The food! So very clever and creative, fun and delicious. Most ingredients are locally-sourced, with a list of providers so you'll know where they came from. Presentation is Guy Fieri-worthy, and totally whets the appetite. We went with the Philly Cheesesteak Egg-rolls - how could you not? - and an order of House-Made Bacon, smoked and sliced on premises. Both were delicious. My daughter and her fiancé grabbed their Frico Burger (wrapped in crispy Asiago cheese and served on a pretzel roll) so fast I din't have a chance to photograph it! I ordered the ridiculous Cure-All bacon double cheeseburger - two bacon-covered ground beef patties nested between two grilled-cheese sandwiches made with what some would call Texas Toast. I say ridiculous because, well, you can't eat the whole thing and it's hard to get in your mouth. I cut mine in half and took half home, which I just re-heated and ate as I sat down to write this review. I paired it with a Fried Mac N Cheese Cake, which thankfully my daughter and her fiancé split with me. Very rich, with a delicate crispy outer seasoned wrapping (think crab cake) and a delectable sauce. A beer flight was the perfect complement to all this great food, chosen from a nice selection of 24 very decent craft brews, all on tap. When we were finished eating, the waitress came with dessert menus! Hahahaha - fat chance! (Pun intended) - where am I going to put dessert after a meal like this? I have to go back to try their Buffacue Wings, Mini Duck Tacos and Cheese Brat Sliders appetizers and their Eat Burger that comes with cheddar cheese, tomato jam, bacon jam (!), gorgonzola fondue and crispy onions on a pretzel roll. All the apps I have gotten here are great. I see that they have trimmed down the menu but kept the really good show stoppers. The hamburgers are great and fresh and usually perfectly cooked. I had the fried chicken sandwhich which was so great!! I couldn't finish it and had to take it home. They have a great selection of beers - including Long Beach Brewing Company (woohoo!). Bartenders an wait staff are all really nice. I love the semi outdoor porch, then the outdoor seating space. A great place to hang out on a nice summer evening. I have been looking forward to trying this place as I am fairly new to the area. Decided to do a casual date night here and sit outside since the weather was perfect. We sat at the bar and had a cocktail while waiting for a table - only 10 minutes or so. We ordered the house-made bacon, Philly cheesesteak eggrolls and buffacue wings to start - all delicious! I ordered the turkey burger with sweet potato fries and my boyfriend ordered the "cure all" (with onion rings) which is a double bacon cheeseburger between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Overall, the food was good but the service could have been better. The waitress served my boyfriend's meal with french fries when he ordered onion rings - when we pointed out the mistake, she apologized and said she would bring them right out. By the time the onion rings came out, we were already finished eating. We never received water upon being seated; meanwhile, all the other tables around us did. I was very impressed from the moment I walked in. I liked the ambiance with the flat screen TV's in the main dining room, the dim lighting, and the decorations on the walls. I was a bit confused about where to find the host (you're actually supposed to enter from the back where there's a lot and the hosts are standing there!) but my friend had already been to EGP and knew what to do. The menu - a nice variety of burgers (seems to be their specialty), entrees, along with appetizers. I REALLY thought the burger selection looks amazing, but I was actually in the mood for one their entrees - the EGP Chicken. YUMMY and the perfect size (check the photo!). The only critique I have is that the dish could have been hotter but it didn't bother me. If you're in the mood for awesome American food, you should venture to EGP! read more

The waitress was excellent. She was very attentive and friendly. It a visual delight from the food to the ambiance. A mix of rock music plays low in the background. My family had a 50/50 burger (bacon/beef), meatloaf and I had a salad. Then we shared dessert. My child loved her "dirt" mousse. I had excellent decaf coffee as well. Came here with a group of eight friends and really liked the feel of this place. The Philly cheesesteak rolls are a must for the table! Every food item on the menu sounded great but I went with the salmon crab burger which was delicious. This place looks like it should be in the middle of a trendy Brooklyn place rather than the middle of Oceanside. It has a great ambiance, decor that has your head wandering all over the pub & music at the perfect volume (no awkward silence, no yelling across the table). The real reason I stopped in was for the Mackin cheese burger, yes fried mac & cheese in between the buns of an organic burger. It was delicious as well as everything else had. Food was so fun. The Philly Cheese Steak egg rolls are so delicious and different! The mini Lobster Tacos were a bit underwhelming, very little lobster meat and just a lot of crunchy taco shell and sauce - but not entirely bad. The crab/salmon burger was good too, but the fries were a bit burnt looking for our taste. The drinks were also good, and they had a large variety of beer choices and it was pretty inexpensive. I stopped by EGP for a quick bite after visiting someone at the nearby hospital. I'd read some reviews and the menu and thought I'd try it out. Overall I'd give it 3.5 stars but with yelps rating system I bumped to 4. Service was friendly and attentive. My server seemed nice and was helpful in guiding me through the specials and menu options. I ordered the Lobster Taco Appetizer, Salmon and Crab Burger and an Apple Pie Mule to drink. The Apple Pie Mule was excellent! Very delicious and tasted just like apple pie. It also came with a caramel topper that softened in the liquor and made for a nice finish to the meal. The Lobster Taco App was quite good. It came with 6 truly mini tacos. They were filled nicely and although I would've liked a little more lobster, it was fresh and delicious. My only complaint on flavor is that the kimchi wasn't really spicy like I expected so the sweeter sauce was a bit more overpowering and I was missing that bit of punch. The Salmon and Crab burger was excellent. The patty blend was perfect for me. The salmon wasn't overdone and mealy and instead the patty kind of melted in your mouth ( though there was also a pleasant crunch from the seared top and bottom). The guacamole was a little more tart then I usually like it so on its own I wasn't in love with it but with the patty it went wonderfully. The burger came with a side of these spicy pickles that I really really liked and ended up layering on my burger to add a bit of heat and it was perfect. Came here for a celebration dinner and it's a very cute little place! I believe there is outdoor seating, but when we went it was raining, so we sat indoors. The wait staff is extremely nice and the food is delicious. I got the pot pie which was really yummy. My boyfriend got the TV dinner, which he really enjoyed as well. They have a nice selection of beers, which is nice for a warm day. The best part is that the check comes in an empty book, which I thought was really cool. In NYC for the day; stopped they here and although I was sick, my sissy ranted and raved about the food. She had some kind of skinny chicken sandwich that was off the charts good. Sweet potato fries were great as well. I wasn't feeling well, and the waitress, Shayna(?) was super sweet and helpful. The service was fast- which is great because the place is so busy. She even brought me baking soda from the bar/ kitchen to help with my tummy. Can't wait till I get better to return. read more

Great atmosphere- we sat inside but there is a gorgeous outdoor space close to the greenhouse where many of the vegetables are harvested. The staff and management are very attentive and you can tell they all like their jobs and like to be here! The food is great - incredibly interesting combinations - too numerous too mention! David K, Silly and my dear went here on 11/24/17 with a reservation around 7:30. There is a serious choke point if you enter through the back. I was pushed around quite a bit before being ushered to our table. Our waitress came over promptly and asked us what we wanted to drink. We asked for a drink menu and she returned with one, gave us a few minutes to look and came back to take our order. Before the drinks arrived she came back to take our food order, we didn't have time to peruse the menu so we quickly put in apps (Mac n cheese spheres and chips and dips) the chips and dips were a mystery as it didn't show on our menu. I like to be a detective though. Later she returned with 3 mixed drinks (bravo on the use of different ice!) and said the carbonation machine had to be refilled. She soon came with the Diet Pepsi David ordered. Our apps came out and we're delivered harshly to the table. Like thrown down. We all laughed that the man who put them down didn't care for our safety. The mac and cheese spheres were good and crunchy. The dips were actually the spreads that they use on the sandwiches. They were the consistency of baby food. Tasty but an odd choice for dips. Soon our meals arrived and again, tossed almost violently on the table. We had to quickly put our appetizer plates together to avoid them being dropped on top. While we ate our meals a different waitress was overhead telling the table next to us the specials. We joked that we were not special as they were not told to us. I ordered the pulled chicken poutine sandwich which was almost tasteless (though the chicken was cooked to perfection) All dishes came on a wooden cutting board with what appeared to be a female plastic plumbing fitting screwed into the board to hold the fries. I'm not a huge fan of the food on wooden cutting boards... as someone who uses one I can't figure out how it could be properly sanitized for reuse over and over. The fries were good. They also brought out a 6 pack beer holder with sauces which was a bit confusing as the traditional squeeze bottle colors (yellow and red) were not mustard and ketchup but different fry dipping sauces. The maple and garlic aioli were pretty good. Overall we felt rushed by the waitress and the food was bland. The chips and dips were more like spreads. They were narrow jars with spoons, so you couldn't dip. Two were good and two were okay. The bacon jam and I believe French onion were the goods ones. The others were fine. I am a proponent of chips and dip. I ordered the chicken burger, which the waitress warned was spicy. It really wasn't spicy. There were a few bites with a kick. It was good and flavorful. The fries were crisp and delicious. Tried a few of the sauces that came out and enjoyed them. The coleslaw was good too. Tasted like the coleslaw on a southern bbq sandwich. A little sweet. When I looked over the menu, my mouth watered. Everything looked like it was going to be great. Everything was fine or good. Nothing made me say how I had to be back. The food was also dropped off in a very aggressive manner. Like thud and hope your arms weren't in the way. Finally seeing some 'cool' places arrive in the LB area. Came in tonight and fell in love. Roughly 24 beers on tap, my fiancé and I both had beer flights to try some out ($10 a piece). The staff is so friendly and the decor is awesome. I'm a fan of mason jars and they are hanging throughout the restaurant with light bulbs in them. Cool! They also have games sitting on the tables around the bar, great idea. Every detail if this place from their menu - to straws - to bar snacks are well thought out and put a unique spin on this new gastro pub. We ordered the chicken pot pie ($16) and the fennel salad ($12). Added tuna to the salad (only received four pieces, bummer) but still good. I'm a fan. I have eaten here many times and I love the food and the service. However, on a weekend it seems you can never eat in either outside areas because a party is booked. I understand and would book a party myself there, but ... if someone calls to find out if there is a party or is it available for brunch, be forthcoming. I met my friend yesterday (we do not live near each other) after calling the night before and when we got there we were told, I'm sorry, both rooms are booked. I don't think they they were booked the day before. On the website they need to say most weekends our rooms are booked or take reservations. Chat Noir has many parties, but if you call, they give you the information. So disappointed and actually angry or I wouldn't have felt the need to write. Not the first time this has happened. Both were extremely bland despite having sauce on them - like they don't season their meat and solely rely on whatever minimal flavor comes from the sauce. The fries tasted old unfortunately and I left 80% of them on my plate. My husband had mashed potatoes and it straight up tasted like they forgot the salt, pepper and butter. My friend has been raving to me about this place so I finally got to go with her last week and boy was she right the food is amazing. I had no idea what to get because the menu is so interesting but I decided to get the ripper and some fried mac and cheese. The ripper was a hot dog wrapped in bacon and had cheese and boy was if delicious. It also came with french fries which allowed me to taste their variety of dips. They had bacon ranch which tastes like what it seems like it would bacon and ranch. Maple aioli tasted like a sweet honey mustard which was my favorite. I didn't try the garlic aioli. For dessert I got the s'mores sandwiches but thought they were okay wasn't anything special and a bit pricey too. Only thing I had a problem with is we were say next to the bar so it took us a little while to actually get someone to help us. Thankfully the bartender noticed and was very helpful. You could tell he really enjoyed his job because he was full of energy and was very helpful to us. This place is a lot of fun and I will be coming back sometime in the future. read more

This place had a different kind of brunch menu, a little difficult to understand. They charge you $10 for unlimited mimosas or Bloody Mary but only while you are eating, no problem. Just thought it was strange to have our waitress going into detail about how the unlimited situation works. The music was very loud, and I could hardly hear anything. My turkey burger was delicious, but since I didn't order from the brunch menu, I didn't get the unlimited deal on the drinks, no problem. The coffee not good, bad coffee, just have anything but the coffee. All in all it was a pleasant experience, we were a party of 11 or so, and all had a nice time. I would go back and I would recommend the turkey burger. Everyone enjoyed their food, except one gal ordered the shrimp salad, not good. Would not recommend the shrimp salad. read more
