Can I put more than 5* on this company? We had the nightmare of a furnace failure Saturday night (my bad - I knew it was old and should have done something earlier). The owner, Eros, came out on Sunday and let me know that fixing it, even temporarily would be costly and as we both agreed, futile. The amazing part is he had a guy in the next day and by Monday night, the furnace was cooking. It's so much better than my last one, easier to change filters on and just looks terrific. Jonathon, a charming and talented workman, did all the install himself - a huge job - and he was knowledgeable, fast, courteous and incredibly hard-working. It's a big job, but we were back with heat by 4. He worked nonstop. The cleanup was excellent and we are incredibly happy. All docs were provided and I just needed to register and be done. Of course my air conditioner had to fail on one of the hottest weeks of the year. With the heat being unbearable, I immediately took to Yelp to find someone to help. I was unable to get a hold of EHC (they were understandably busy), so I asked my neighbors for the company they used. I knew EHC was great based on their reviews so I didn't bother looking elsewhere. Thanks to my awesome neighbors, who were getting their system looked at, I was able to have Eros come by and take a look at mine. When I met him I explained what was going on and what I had tried to check. He immediately knew where the problem may be coming from. Within 10 minutes he diagnosed the problem and went to his truck to get a replacement capacitor. In less than a half an hour, my air was back up and running. One of my rental properties' heater suddenly stopped working today (Saturday). Desperately called around and found EHC. The same day appointment was quickly scheduled after 5 minutes of call. Our air conditioning stopped working several years ago, and I called Eros to see if it was fixable. He did a great job and got everything working again. Our AC unit and furnace are really old. They stopped making parts for them, so it took a lot of work-around to get them working again. Not to mention the previous guys that came in to fix our furnace a couple years ago did a bit of a hack job. He was able to straighten everything out and get our AC working again. Live in albany. We had next day availability vs. The other guy who had us waiting a week. Down right professional guys who diagnosed my furnace in my crawl space; his second crawl of the day. He gave us a quick turn around time of 1 to 5 days (This may vary with your situation depending if parts need be ordered). Luckily, he had my part in stock and was able to repair same day. A quick fix of the capacitor and my heater was up and running. He didn't charge for initial consultation.....other company charged 120$. And total cost was 1/3 of what was initially priced. This was a great experience I had. The guy came to the house right on time he was very nice. He diagnosed the problem and explained everything to me in why the issue was occurring. He had all the parts with him that we needed, which was awesome. I was nervous they were going to have to get the parts mailed or something like that. Nope everything we needed he had with him. Several weeks ago at the very beginning of this extreme cold we are having my heater went out. Freezing and needing someone to come out right away I filtered my Yelp searches for companies open at the time of my search first thing on a Saturday morning. Eros Heating and Cooling came up. My call was answered immediately and they gave me an appointment time of noon. I accepted the time slot but the representative on the phone told me that should an earlier time become available they would call me. Now I have heard that line before so I did not expect them to call me earlier than noon, but to me surprise they called me and came in before 10 am!!! I was ecstatic. Upon arrival I showed the technician where my furnace was and when he went up there he not only fixed the problem, he told me what was causing the problem and how to avoid it. He treated me with respect even though I was a female and did not talk down to me as some other companies have done. His pricing was extremely fair as I have had heater repairs in the past where it is not so much. I highly recommend this company for your repair needs and I will keep his business card in my rolodex (ok now I am dating myself). If I could give this place more stars I would. Had called another company and given them the model number of our heater and the part we needed and they promised to call us back with an estimate and appointment - they didn't - we called twice more and were promised a return call each time. Finally called EHC and described the problem. Eros said he could be there in about an hour. His fee for an inspection ( which would be applied to any repair) was significantly less than what we had been quoted by 3 other companies. He came and did a thorough inspection but when he removed the outer plates we discovered that the inside had completely corroded (the heater was over 30 years old). He gave me a very competitive and reasonable estimate and said he could complete the job that night if it was ok to work late. The work space was very cramped an inaccessible but they got the job done by about 11:00 PM. His crew were competent, polite and very clean despite the muddy conditions (it was during a major rainstorm). The new heater is working perfectly. When my furnace stopped working last night I called Eros, which had received many rave reviews on Yelp. He offered to come right away, but it was already dark and the furnace is in a hard-to-reach outdoor closet, under the house. So I said I'd wait it out until this morning, by which time the indoor temp had gone down to 47 degrees. Fortunately, Eros arrived promptly today, replaced the burned-out igniter and the furnace worked right away. He also noticed a leak in the gas pipe and replaced that as well, for safety's sake. Finally, he relit my water heater which had also gone out. It was wonderful service all around, prompt and quick. Even though we have never used his services before, he responded with great courtesy and arrived at our house within a few hours. First of all, let me say that Eros and EHC Heating & Cooling are the BEST!! I only wish I could give 10 stars!! Prompt, friendly, professional and VERY reasonably priced. I had a floor furnace that had breaking down every year for the past 5 years. Eros came out immediately even though it was late, hot and I didn't need the heater on at the time. He took a look at the furnace and told me what I've been known all along and the home warranty company refused to say - there no way to permanently fix the heater; the furnace was old and parts were no longer available. Eros said that he could use refurbished parts, which is what had been used since 2009 but the parts would probably only last about a year which is why the furnace kept breaking down. Eros told me the price for a new furnace, but then I asked him about putting in brand new central heating. He gave me a written estimate right there on the spot and also gave me a quote to include AC - both were beyond reasonable. I was so impressed with his professionalism, friendliness and honesty that I decided to have him do the entire job. I don't think I've ever had anyone come to my house to work on a project that worked the entire time they were there. Eros estimated the job would take 3 or 4 days to remove the old furnace, do all the duct work, run all of the lines and install the new central heating and AC. I live in San Pablo, so AC isn't always necessary. I couldn't believe how quickly he and Oscar got the job done. I had brand new AC installed and working 2 days before a heat wave had hit. I was the only person in my neighborhood with their windows closed and sleeping comfortably. I have 2 Malamutes and I don't think I've ever seen them so happy to come in the house on a hot day (imagine wearing a full length fur coat when it's 80 degrees or higher in the shade)! Even with the thermostat at 70, we were in heaven!! Don't bother calling the other guys - EHC is only place to call if you need any HVAC work done. read more
