I've been wanting to come here for 2+ yrs went with 4 friends for dinner. Well we were disappointed. We started with the fried calamari app..very fresh and fried beautifully, so tender but a real lack of seasoning. I had the chicken marsala, tender chicken, however the sauce was so thin and tasteless, the pasta which I upgraded to have the marsala sauce was lukewarm and so sauce thin it was like water. Husb had the veal parm nice hot and tender and he said it was good. The best thing I had was the lentil soup salad, w/ delicious dressing. The creamy lemoncello was a nice finish. Cute place, just didn't live up to the 2-yr wait. The other 4 had diff things some happy some also disappointed so much so they didn't even take home. Service was good. read more

'Shareables' is an understatement. We ordered the tomato mozzarella and we were served 4 massive slices of beefsteak tomatoes with melt-in-your-mouth fresh mozzarella on this beautiful bed of interesting greens drizzled with a lovely balsamic glaze. The tomatoes would have been happier if they hadn't seen the inside of a refrigerator. Rose was our server. So pleasant and knowledgable. We would come back for the warm and welcoming service. She said that she's been working there for five years and so has many of the other staff. It makes me happy that they retain their talent overtime. My husband had the avocado. It was for tender and was served in a pleasant sauce. He asked for potatoes instead of pasta and they served him mahogany colored potato slices. Overall, he was very happy with the dish. I love the fact that my eggplant was battered and fried rather than breaded and fried. It made for such a light dish. On a hot summer day, I would come back in a heartbeat and look forward to the beautiful tomato mozzarella appetizer and the warm pillow we bread they served. It was enough to make a meal. The server was the only one for the patio and I told her expressly that I am totally GF. Only appetizer I wanted was only appetizer not available (clams casino). Chose chicken Marsala for entree which came with a salad. Asked for no red onion. Salad came with onions. The chicken Marsala was boring and bland lacking salt and seasoning which should have been cooked-in. Also receive a side of pasta, (more like pasta soup), which I could not eat, as it was not GF. It's hard to beat the ambiance of dining in an old home. The pressure is on the chef to provide dishes that draw on that feeling of a home cooked meal and wait staff who give that attention of being served by a family member or friend. Here, reservations are necessary as much for the limited seating as they are for the food quality. (While there is an outdoor dining area, it didn't look like it was well-maintained or the owner's priority. Outdoor seating wasn't available on our visit). Our server was pleasant and thankfully referred to my wife and I as "friends" , rather than the lazy and boorish "you guys" you hear in so many places. She promptly provided water and offered us an impressive wine selection. I ordered a glass of Crios Malbec ($10) which paired well with my entree, the eggplant florentine ($21). Service started with a complimentary warm and simple mini loaf of Italian bread. Soft and light , it absorbed the EVOO dipping sauce of flavorful spices and herbs. With a choice of salad or soup of the day (potato and chive soup), we both opted for salads. They were lightly dressed with a creamy balsamic and a hint of garlic. The eye-pleasing chilled salad was a spring mix with red onion, cucumbers and tomatoes. Not one of those after thought salads served at some restaurants. We also ordered a shareable plate of two sauced meatballs ($17) served with a side of velvety smooth ricotta piped onto an oversized leaf of basil. The garlic bread points were so-so but the meatballs were very tasty. A good choice. The eggplant on my dish wrapped around a generous serving of spinach and cheese and slathered with a delicious marinara. My wife enjoyed her chicken parmigiana ($22) and was surprised to find two thinly cut and breaded tender cutlets covered in the red sauce. Enough to carry home some leftovers. Good food, good service and pleasant atmosphere. We were 5 couples and had a private room where we could eat , chat and enjoy the evening.

We started with an appetizer of clams and garlic in olive oil which was very good. It was all downhill from there. I ordered veal sorrentino (with eggplant and prosciutto). What I actually was served was anything but. The veal was not a cutlet or a scallopine but a patty, a low-grade substitute. The eggplant was stiff as a board and could probably be used to patch a hole in your roof. The ultimate disaster was substituting CANADIEN BACON FOR PROSCIUTTO. This is not only incredulous but an insult to anyone familiar with Italian cuisine. Passing this place off as an Italian restaurant is a stretch of the highest magnitude. Red wine served cold, most dishes are very sweet and my veal sorrentino is topped with honey deli ham instead of prosciutto. The veal picatta was overly lemony, veal Marsala was bland and the soup tasted like boxed Lipton soup with added celery and carrots. The side pasta was minute and very sweet sauce too. Even the tiramisu tasted like freezer burn no taste thawed out desert with cocoa to disguise the taste. Gave it two stars because our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating. I don't live in Stuart, Florida, but everytime my husband and I do go there, we make it a priority to stop at 18 Seminole. We have never been disappointed with the food or service. In fact, we find the dishes they serve are incredibly tasty. Nice atmosphere and never feel rushed. It's a definite go to for my husband and myself. Incredible find! We visit Stuart quite frequently and have never noticed this little italian gem. We were immediately seated on the back patio since we didn't have a reservation for inside. But honestly, we liked thos location better, especially since it was a beautiful night. Warm and very soft bread was brought to our table and our drink order was taken right away. We usually don't buy a bottle of wine, but they were priced pretty fairly. We decided on the calamari for an appetizer and were quite impressed, instead of cocktail sauce they provided their house marinara...close to the best I've ever had. For dinner my wife had the veal marsala and had the tuscan veal. Both were perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. The service was top notch too. We had three people constently doting on us to make sure We had everything we needed and dirty dishes were quickly removed. We cannot wait to go back and try more items on tbe menu. They have gluten free pasta and the kitchen can accommodate to make other items on the menu gluten free as well.*** We came up to Stuart for our son's regional cross country tournament and lucked into a reservation with another child's family at Eighteen Seminole. This is a lovely and beautiful restaurant off the main drag of dining options in Stuart. Its ambiance is quiet and a little bit dressy, but nothing fancy-shmancy. We were in shorts/t-shirts, and so we were a little under dressed but it didn't matter one bit. Dinner was so good, the staff was so great, that we are already planning on returning for dinner next year when our kids make it to regional tournament next year! So a word about the food: We ordered the clams, the mussles, and the fried calamari for apps, and they were all delicious. The husbands in particular RAVED about the clams. We definitely all got extra bread to sop up the juices from that. My husband had Tuscan veal and I had the frutti di mare fra diavlo and they were both so good. Proof that the food was great: when our entrees arrived, the whole table, including the kiddos, got quiet. Our mouths were too full of yumminess to speak! (Side note: my fra diavlo was very much on the spicy side - which is exactly how I want it!) A word about the service: We had the NICEST, most accommodating server, Jodi, who should be given all the accolades. Given the size of our party (7), we actually wound up with a long table in a private room, and it's a good thing we did so, since we were a noisy and somewhat annoying table. Halfway through, we invited another family (two parents and another teammate) to join us in our room. I'm sure we were the obnoxious people that all waitstaff hate. Jodi handled us with ease, she was pleasant and jovial, and was on top of everyone's needs (more water? more bread? more wine?) without even being asked. All of our food came out on time and together, and that in and of itself can sometimes be a feat for the kitchen with a large group such as ours, never mind that after appetizers our numbers grew unexpectedly. We visited 18 Seminole for my daughters birthday recently.really nice conversation of an old house to a quaint restaurant. The wait staff are very professional and attentive but unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre. Of course we had pasta. I had the mixed seafood bowl and she had another pasta dish. I'm a retired chef and my daughter has been in catering for years. We had heard thru the grapevine that this was the place to go for Italian food. The portions were generous but ingredients other than pasta were scarce. The sauces were bland and tasteless . Most of my seafood was way overcooked. The calamari was like rubber and the seafood dish came with one shrimp. Overall a mild disappointment but I got the impression that the kitchen was pretty much a one man band. We waited overly long for our order. The main dining room was very loud and could benefit from some sound abatement features like soft surfaces. If you come try to sit elsewhere. Prices aren't terrible but a little heavy for pasta. I hope they do well as the have a really great little cafe/restaurant in an interesting location. read more

We had the Veal Piccata, Linguine Puttanesca with shrimp. We also split the meatball appetizer and sautéed mushrooms. So, so good!! Disappointed because I make clams casino all the time and wanted to compare theirs to mine. Had to settle for the fried calamari appetizer. It was a very small portion made very well done and served with a watery marinara sauce. Again...Disappointed. I always order the veal parmesan when I try a new Italian restaurant it's my measuring point. The veal parmesan arrived I took one look at it and knew it was going to be horrible. Simply put...the lowest quality veal I've ever encountered...half of it had melted mozzarella the other half some type of grated cheese. I refused to taste this garbage and sent it back ordered the shrimp francese which was at best just mediocre. We couldn't wait to get out of there and go home. We've lived here for three years and just happened upon this hidden gem! Amazingly freshly made Italian cuisine set in the cutest little 1920's house. The bread is perfect! Crusty outside and soft and warm on the inside. The house salads were delicious. I had the eggplant Florentine and it was full of flavor and nicely presented. My husband had the chicken piccata but isn't a fan of penne with red sauce so they gladly substituted Angel hair with piccata sauce. He literally cleaned the plate and couldn't rave enough about it. Fabulous! Glad to have stumbled into this romantic gem in downtown Stuart. Enjoyed the delicious eggplant tower which consists of fresh mozzarella, tomato and breaded eggplant, stacked high and drizzled with balsamic glaze. Meatballs were amazing!! Two XL balls of heavenly perfection served with marina sauce and side of ricotta and basil. The house salad was a perfect blend of lettuce, blue cheese, tomatoes with amazing dressing in every bite. The eggplant Marsala and chicken sorrentino were out of this world. The place is romantic with great classics playing in the background. We finished our meal with homemade lemonciello, best I've had in the US. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful evening and lunch the next day. Will be back soon! read more
