City Egg is a small Ohio breakfast/brunch/lunch chain that offers a pretty extensive menu that…read moreincludes a variety of egg dishes, pancakes, avocado toast (of course), a quinoa bowl, acai bowls, sandwiches and wraps, bakery items, and a coffee bar. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and although ordering is typically done electronically the staff member assured us he was available to answer any questions. The e-ordering process is very easy and has options for customization which is a perk. The food is all prepared to order and came out nicely plated and at the correct temperature. My dining companions very much enjoyed their pancakes, eggs, and hashbrowns. I ordered the tropical acai bowl which was topped with a good amount of a variety of fruit. I do wish the acai base was a little thicker; the texture was more smoothie than sorbet but the flavor was lovely. Pricing is very reasonable for a hip-ish local place - all-in-all City Egg is worth a visit!

I was pleasantly surprised by the tasty breakfast yesterday at City Egg. I had the American…read moreskillet, hash brown base, eggs over easy on biscuits topped with sausage gravy. The sausage gravy was not spicy, which I appreciate, and well made. I had hash browns as a side, because i can never have too many potatoes, but you can choose other sides, like fruit or toast. The ordering system is electronic on touch pads which i don't love but I know we can blame Covid for that. There was a young woman available for directions and another woman cooking. The place is clean with lots of tables and chairs and restrooms were clean. I didn't see a place to leave tips on the pads because i like to tip but the store is almost completely self serve. My breakfast was $12 which is reasonable. Only gave 4 stars because i prefer human interaction, but no real complaints about the food

Stellar breakfast on a random Friday am. When they say…read moreWAIT! At the hostess stand they mean it- they will be out to grab you as soon as they clean up other tables- most likely for you. It's open, there is a bar to your right as you enter and lots of seating to your right and front. Can eat at bar. We sat, mimosas and bloodies available. Or for that matter- whatever you can think of. They have scotch eggs swimming in a bowl of gravy... yes gravy... and it was delicious. Definitely a Mexican "flair" with lots of black beans, sauces, etc. I stuck with a Belt sandwich - nice and crispy bread with bacon, egg, lettuce, tomato. Friendly service and lots of value! Glad we found this spot since we are headed to Ohio a few times a year.

We did not have a good experience this time. Our bartender Shanna was less than enthusiastic about serving us. She had an attitude & was yawning Alot! We ordered margaritas, which were good as always. Then we ordered our dinner. i ordered the perch dinner W fries & coleslaw. The perch was good, the fries were way overdone & coleslaw bland. My friend ordered prime rib medium rare. The rib was served Medium to Medium well. Shanna took it away & brought a Médium rare one, which was much better. I almost forgot about the Horrible house salads she served us. She returned them & brought us the Cole slaw & Augratin potatoes. The mistakes were corrected, but totally changed our view of the Dark Horse. I hope improvements will be made!
