Extremely slow and will still get your order wrong. Waited for 20 minutes in drive through for a bagel and cream cheese. Drove away to find the order was incorrect. Parked and walked into the store to have it fixed. Waited for 25 minutes for this to happen. Absolutely wild. Right by our hotel was this amazing spot! They had a crazy huge menu, but we ended up getting the country bagels & gravy egg sandwich. Seriously, it was incredible wow, just wow! So tasty. I also tried the All Nighter egg sandwich on a jalapeño bagel that one's my new favorite. It was packed with flavor! The place was a little hectic and maybe a bit messy because it was so busy, but the staff were super friendly and quick, even with all the people. We got our food and everything, no issues there, but the workers here are just mean. So passive aggressive to the customers and to each other. And also very loud so you can hear them yelling at each other about how so and so called out and so and so was late. Definitely either be nice to each other or wall off the kitchen. Been only twice. Review premature, perhaps. I think it is a great place to sit and relax reading a book or getting some work done. Window seating, fireplace round table, and high and low tables. Most of the tables along the wall have access to electrical outlets. Music is loud enough to hear and bonce to but not too loud to carry on a conversation with the person across from you or on your side. Layout, decor, and materials are good but it doesn't seem well maintained and isn't kept very clean. Also heavy kitchen smells on the smoky side easily make it into the seating area. Drinks are ok but a little higher [cost] compared to elsewhere. Haven't bothered to the try the food. Will I be back, yes. Will I consider bringing a smart electric mask next time, yes. read more

My Nova Lox was good. There was plenty of salmon and plenty of cream cheese. The first time I went by today, the drive thru line was out into the street and not budging. Second time, there was only one car and I breezed through. Interestingly, the woman taking my order at the menu was super friendly, but then when I got to the window, she held the credit card machine out the window to prompt me to select a tip option! I've never been hit up for a tip in a drive thru lane like this. I pressed $0 because I already spent $10 on a bagel, and AS SOON AS she saw I was pressing $0, her demeanor changed noticeably. She sounded much less friendly and handed me my food dismissively. I still think this place is okay, but that was kind of weird. Hate being pressured into tipping for fast food. read more

After seeing Aubrey Gs. Picture for the nova lox I wanted the best example of one in the Milwaukee area so I reached out to him for his opinion on where to find one. Aubrey explained that nova lox is not really a Milwaukee thing and that Einstein brothers bagels would be the the best place to try one so I went over for breakfast. The place was nice looking for a chain bagel place with real wood tables and chairs, yellow walls and high ceilings. The Coffey is self serve when they hand you the empty cup. The counter has five varieties of Coffey to chose from and I chose the dark roast. There is a nice variety of bagels and muffins with an assortment of sandwiches. There were all range of ages from children to seniors so they seem to appeal to everyone. You walk up to the counter and place your order, they take your name and call you when it's ready. My nova lox was ready in minutes and looked good. The nova lox comes on a plain bagel but you can pick any one if you want. It's a bagel with creme cheese smear, capers, tomato, red onion and the thin slice of the cold smoked salmon. The bagel was good with that chewy skin and fresh soft center. The salmon had a nice smokey seasoned flavor to complement the whole sandwich. I really liked how all the taste and textures played together and this was a great change for breakfast. Overall I enjoyed my nova lox with fresh Coffey even if it's a chain restaurant and I will file it away as an alternative to the classic American breakfast. read more

Really Love Einstein Bagels. This is not my favorite location though.It will do for the time being or should I say once the remodel is completed at the Shorewood spot. Same great bagels just the service is slightly less and I attribute that to not being a "regular". It's a perfect pit-stop on Saturday morning errands or heading into work. Usually the service at the Brookfield Einstein bagels is good, but I need to write this review because I have been charged double for choosing to order using the Einstein bros. App on my phone. When I used the App for the first time I was charged $21.83 for a dozen bagels that should have cost me $12.49! When I realized I was overcharged there was no one to call for the online order to fix it. When I arrived at the store and asked for the price adjustment the manager there said she could not help me either. There is no direct customer service phone number for Einstein bagels they are only communicating via email. I am hoping to get credit for a dozen bagels or the extra $10.00 I was overcharged. I work nearby (like really nearby) and stopped for a tea before my early shift the other day. There were 4 cars ahead of me, and I had a buffer of about 15 minutes. More than enough time, right? Nope. The line took forever to inch forward, and while I get they didn't design the place, once you're in line you can't get out... the car in front of me made it all the way to the window before someone took my order (probably 3 car lengths) and when she did she told me they didn't sell green tea, while I was reading it off the menu to her. She's new, whatever. I got to the window and it took 5 more minutes to get my tea. Seriously? It's hot water and a tea bag, how hard can this be?! Not impressed, but will give a second chance in a few weeks just due to proximity to my work. read more

The customer service is very poor at this location. I love to visit once in a while for a great bagel sandwich, which is always outstanding. Unfortunately, every time I have visited, there is a middle aged woman working the drive thru who has the poorest attitude I've ever seen and often comes off very rude. My friend and I decided to stop this afternoon for brunch and we pulled through the empty drive thru. When we approached the ordering microphone, I politely asked if I could place two separate orders. She expressed some irritation with this by saying we should have come inside instead, which did not make sense to me because there was nobody else in the drive through line and it would have held up the same amount of people on the inside. Once I placed the two orders she asked me to pull around to the window and when I did there was no friendly greeting, just a total as she stuck the card machine out the window to me. She was not very friendly at all and after the transactions were complete, it seemed as though she slammed the window. This is not the first negative experience I have had with this lady, and as someone who works in customer service, I believe it was totally inappropriate. read more

Back in the day Einstein's was my absolute jam in high school. Especially the veggie melt bagel sandwich (no longer on the menu) and the bagel and lox. Ordered while in the area on a whim and was met with an incredibly skimpy portion of smoked salmon, on a wimpy and cold bagel that tasted only a hair fresher than the preservative-laden Thomas bagels in a bag from Walmart, the thinnest spread of schmear (you'd think this was an expensive ingredient) and just overall the whole thing was just not as good as Einstein used to be. I actually threw the sandwich away after picking out the two skimpy pieces of lox and onions off to eat - it wasn't worth the carbs or the price for that manner. Was sadly disappointed. I don't really know whether to condemn this location, or what Einstein's has become everywhere. The last Einstein's we ate at as was probably around 2005 in San Diego. Back then we got a substantial bagel with tasty sandwich parts and toppings for a reasonable price. This morning in Brookfield we paid nearly five bucks each for a wee, featherweight bun-like bagel with a partially cooked egg, an unmelted slice of cheese, and slack-jawed service. Einstein's is the best bagels around! The atmosphere of the coffee shop is so cute and homie, I ordered the onion bagel with plain smear which was so good! I will say that it took a while for My food to be ready that could be because I got it toasted, I went during morning rush but the line was very manageable and the workers were very nice! Einstein's combined with caribou coffee which is very overpriced but I like the drinks better then Starbucks, I think a small coffee is around $4. In search of Caribou Coffee, I googled and Einstein Bagel appeared (along with Caribou Coffee). I immediately headed to this store in Brookfield, WI on Bluemound Rd, just 3 minutes away from my location. Excited when I saw that there was a drive-thru!!! A lady welcomed me via the speaker, and I inquired about Caribou coffee. She stated that it was Einstein Bagels, not Caribou coffee. I then responded by acknowledging that it was Einstein Bagel, but asked again if they carried Caribou coffee. She then, in the most rude tone possible, stated that I was not at Caribou coffee, but instead was at Einstein Bagel. I drove away. Then I thought, I should speak with a manager about my interaction with this lady. I phoned the store and requested to speak with a manager. The person that answered the phone stated that she was the manager, but it was the exact same voice from the drive-thru! I verified that it was her and proceeded to let her know how poorly she handled the situation. I informed her that Google listed their location, along with the name of Caribou coffee. She knew about the listing. I advised her that I travel all over the country, and that I've ordered Caribou coffee from other Einstein Bagel locations without any type of "ill reception ". I also noted that she was the manager, and how unprofessional she handled my inquiry in the drive-thru. She apologized, but I sensed not a bit of sincerity. It's unfortunate, because I have a business in Brookfield, WI and I would have loved to frequent this location (especially for the drive-thru). Instead, I'll wait in the Starbucks line. read more

Why am I expected to tip on a normal coffee? If you walk in, they hand you a cup and you get it yourself. The tip screen pops up and there's no onscreen way to avoid leaving a tip. Service is normal and bagels are bagels, you can't really mess that up. read more

So glad Caribou is back in the Milwaukee area! What better than coffee and bagels combined?! This is a Caribou Coffee and Einstein Bagels combined into a cozy, convenient, and delicious spot. Being from Milwaukee and living in Minneapolis, I'm used to the cobrand locations and glad that now when I'm down visiting family and friends I have a place to get my favorite drinks. I'm happy to see they've got a drive-thru! As far as food goes, I love Einstein's Farmhouse Egg Sandwich for breakfast and their Nova Lox for lunch. Since they're still new it takes a little longer with them still in training, but the end product was good and they still had cheerful smiles on their faces. I have been going to this location for years and continue to support this business during changes due to covid.. I think that some people are not very understanding of these limited hours. I read a review where someone wanted 3 dozen bagels same day and was not very understanding of the new hours of operation because it did not work for their schedule and complained... it is preferred that you call the day before for such large orders and when they are short staff and have limited hours writing a negative review because they couldn't accommodate you this 1 time is pretty harsh. I know that and give them the courtesy of notice. I have also been aware of their new hours since they changed. Everyone at this location is amazing, friendly, helpful and awesome and if you made a review for every positive visit their rating would be 5 stars. I give them 5 stars. They are most likely fighting to stay in business so be kind and supportive during these tough times. read more

A change in my morning routine brought this location to my attention, noticing heavy traffic at drive-thru every morning. It had been a few years since I had visited any Einstein's and I intended to go inside to not hold up the drive thru, but for everyone's safety during a pandemic, only the drive thru was open. It was amazingly fast and I was impressed by the friendly customer service, making even this cynical woman smile in the morning! My order was correct and delicious! I had to leave this because i was shocked when I saw some of these petty reviews, while looking up calorie content of the nova lox bagel I ordered to see how often I can get one. I don't want another Covid casualty taking away much needed quality food options in our area. Please be kind, it's contagious! Worst bagels ever had. You're better off going up the street to first watch or buying your bagels at the grocery store. I tried two bagels Lox Nova Sandwich - it came as a plain non-toasted bagel (I asked for it toasted) with a little bit of cream cheese, some smoked salmon/lox, and two single rings of onions. Very anemic. And very spongy. The 'everything ' bagel with butter - this one came toasted but it was put in the toaster for for only a few seconds seconds to warm it up only. It was also spongy! Very disappointed after the new changes. In regards to the cosmetic changes, it's more roomy, comfortable seating similar to Starbucks. You no longer have the option of dispensing your own coffee, and refills cost money. The display for bagels only includes the regular bagels. If you want one of their specialty bagels, take a look at the sign on the case but nothing is in front of you. They have two cash registers now, but the process of ordering and paying has become much slower than what it was before. The old friendly faces were not there to greet me this time, all new faces. Also, the nail on the coffin; no pickles with your sandwiches ( or at least I didn't receive one) and I had to remind them to give me my bag of chips, as they have this behind the counter also. I think I'll head back to Panera as I feel that I am adult enough to dispense my own coffee. read more

The bagels are NOT real bagels. They are bread. They are very good but not real. Real bagels are made in water. I grew up with REAL bagels. They seem to have a good business but it is due to no competition. A New York Jew will agree with me. Also, I ordered Nova lox on a toasted bagel with all the trimmings. When I got home I found that there was no onion and the bagel was not toasted. This is nonsense. Get your workers to wake up. I called and complained and the manager took down my name and said that they would make good when I came in next. i literally never write bad reviews EVER but i am so frustrated with this location. the customer service is terrible - so so SO slow and some staff members are incredibly rude. i love einstein bagels and their coffee but this location is just awful. today i waited 30 minutes in a drive thru line just for a cold brew and when i finally get to order the lady let's me finish ordering before telling me that their card reader is not working and i can only pay with cash. there were no signs outside or anything to indicate that they were only accepting cash and there were about 5 cars lined up behind me too. so i essentially waited 30 minutes in a drive thru line for one cup of cold brew and it was a waste of my time. super unprofessional. i am disappointed and will be avoiding this location at all costs. read more
