It's rare for me to write any reviews, but I had to for this one. On Sunday 4/14 around 10am, I came in and ordered a Nova Lox bagel to go. I get home and eat one half of the sandwich and I'm already starting on the second half, I rearranged the sandwich so that the smoked salmon is on the bottom and in doing so I found I piece of paper/plastic in the sandwich. I'm hoping it's the paper that separates the smoked salmon but I don't know. This is the closest location to me but it's still 15 mins away and I didn't want to drive back. read more

Ordered today at around 8am. I get that there's a rush hour but how do you completely miss two orders twice? My brother ordered three bagel sandwiches and one pizza bagel. He came out with only two bagel sandwiches. He went back inside, came back with the pizza but still ended up missing my order. By the time I found out we were already on the road. My brother says his pizza bagel was great but I can't say anything about my turkey, avocado, and bacon bagel because I never got it. Learn to carefully account for customer's orders even if it takes a little more time. All the customers will be served eventually anyway. Better to do it right the first time than to be all rushed and make mistakes and redo orders. Just creates a hassle for everyone and it's so damn frustrating. read more

I didn't have to make a line, the girls were kind enough and put my box up at the front with my name so I could see to avoid the morning crowd in a Saturday morning. I've been to this location about 6-7 times. Not once have they given me exactly what I asked for. It's either they forget bacon or avocado and once they forgot Turkey! Wrong bagel, no side etc... It's just sooooo packed Food is standard but good and you know what to expect - their breakfast sandwiches are totally worth trying if you are not in a rush. We paid for two of them for extra egg whites but we only got one with extra and paid for two. Also ordered a hashbrown and it was really cold. Heated it up when we got home and it just tasted bad, something about the cheese and egg white that was stuffed in it. Just nasty. My go to place for a bagel and coffee when I'm home. It is either here or panera when I'm not leaving too far from the hood. The people here are always super sweet. Even today when I wanted soup with my samidge. Yes they probably thought I was crazy but I didn't care. I love tomato soup especially dipping my samidge in it! So tasty. Love that they use fresh cucumbers and tomatoes in the samidges. They have random special samidges but it makes me sad when the ones I really liked are gone. Extremely disappointed with the size of my Asiago cheese bagels at this location this morning. I am a Rewards Member and a weekly visitor to the College Grove and Santee locations. This morning I met a friend at the H St location and when I opened my bag of Asiago bagels at home I was shocked. They were literally half the size of the standard bagels at the other 2 store locations. I would think that weighing the dough would be required to ensure consistency so no matter what Einstein location I visited I would receive the same product. The price was the same but the product was half the size. I was extremely disappointed and felt like I wasted my money. People were taking people in line orders before they even got to the register and skipped me. Super rude. Then someone told someone of us to wait outside if we're waiting for our order but other people before us we're waiting inside so why tell some people one thing and allow others to do different? Love love love me some einstein bagels! Last time I was here it was lunch time and I tried their super nova lox and it was amazing! This time around it was breakfast time and I ordered their Santa Fe and let me tell you that the jalapeño spread that they use is delicious! Will definitely be ordering again. My partner ordered the Bacon and cheddar (as he always does), but I guess that means he can never go wrong with that. The only reason I am not giving this location 5 stars is because they always seem to be understaffed for the amount of traffic they receive. Also, i've tried to call and place an order ahead multiple times and have yet to have a call answered. ZERO stars!!! My family and I frequently visit and normally have pretty good service. Today was the worst and we may not return. Waited about an hour for my food. I placed an online order for 2 bagel sandwiches and 1 bagel with shmear. I received a notification from my bank that I was charged for my order. The website said 15-20 minutes for my order but could be a little longer depending on how busy they're. I arrived 20 minutes later and my order was not ready. I waited another 15 minutes and still nothing. I then got the attention of a girl with red hair. I gave her my name and she checked the register and she pulled my order ticket from the printer like I had just ordered. So far I've waited 35 minutes for nothing. She said she will get the order started. I kept waiting patiently as customers that came in long after me were getting their orders quickly. The employee with red hair kept looking at me knowingly I'm still waiting. Another 20 minutes go by and at this time I'm ready to cancel my order and get a refund. As Im standing there waiting to get the attention of any employee, they girl with red hair hands me my order. Not even an apology for the mixup with the ordering process or for the long wait. What she should have done was to make my order a priority knowing that there was a problem with the online ordering process and that I've already been waiting for 35 minutes. But instead she placed my order ticket in the back of other orders like I had just ordered when I brought it to her attention. This experience alone has me questioning if I'll ever return. read more

This store is terrible. The quality of their bagels have gone down considerably. I bought a bucket this week (called ahead) and when I arrived they had no pumpkin cream cheese (said season was over...it wasn't even thanksgiving yet and this was the second time in 3 weeks I've been to this store and they had no pumpkin). Then when I got to work and opened the bucket the sesame bagels were like 1/2 the size they usually are. It seemed as if someone was training, didn't know what they were doing and since I called ahead they stuck all the rejects in my basket. Me and several other customers waited almost 5 minutes to receive any service. We finally received service when an middle aged lady came out of the back and I complained about how long we had been waiting. There was one young man working diligently but 3 other gals were standing around chatting (just barely past the walk to the back) but we could all see them there chatting and ignoring us. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. I prefer to go into Bruegger's by far rather than Einstein Bros. Unfortunately, the nearest one is about 15 miles from my house. So, I always end up going to Einstein Bros. Never again will I step foot there again. First of all, their customer service is horrible. There are two particular employees that always have a bad attitude and they have no shame in being rude. The rest of the employees are nice and friendly. Secondly, the process of the egg, as the same as McDonald's, is disgusting and they heat it up in a miniature microwave. Yuck! Come on, your better of cooking your own eggs at home, throw in a piece of cheese and put a piece of bread over it or a bagel. I guarantee you it will taste better and you will save money, which brings me to my final complain. The price! Breakfast bagels $5 to $6. I don't know, but, I rather spend those $5 on a big burrito with better quality food and get full of it. It takes two breakfast bagels to satisfy my stomach and it ends up being about $11 with tax. That is way too much money for a breakfast meal and for the bad quality. My suggestion is to lower the prices, provide better tasting quality products and ensure that the employees are aware of customer service. And, if your too lazy to cook breakfast (I get lazy too) then spend your money more wisely and go somewhere else where its worth eating. read more

As soon as I got in my boyfriend and I were rushed by the employees to order our food. Their lack of enthusiasm and general care for its customers is more than apparent as they gave me less than 10 seconds to self serve my coffee and get out. Not even a minute later I wanted more sugar and they locked their doors on us (they weren't even closed yet). Ordered on line for curbside pick up and it turned out that "someone" picked up my order. I have to wait for 15 minutes for them to prepare our order.
