Bagels are my kryptonite. I would eat bagels everyday if I could. My mom recently moved to the neighborhood and I was excited to try this place. Even though it's a chain, I've never lived near one. I had the apple cinnamon bagel with plain cream cheese. So good! The bagel was pretty light and fluffy. I also tried their new iced coffee with carmel. It was pretty good too. My brother had the honey wheat bagel and honey almond cream cheese. He had the mocha latte which he said was just meh. I like that they had the bagels on display. I ordered the All-Nighter sandwich with jalapeno topped bagel, no bacon but subbed turkey sausage for the up charge. When I got my order and as I was walking out the door, they realized that they made it with bacon. They called me back, ended up making a new sandwich, however they left out the turkey sausage (which I paid the up charge for it)! I realized this as soon as I opened up the bag when I got home! I used to come here all the time to pick up bagels for my coworkers. I haven't been in a long time, but I love the bagels. Yeah, they're not local and they're a franchise, but they were the first to bring bagels to this part of town. The dining room has seen better days. Cabinet doors are broken. Refrigerator glass needs cleaning. The restrooms needed attention. But the bagels looked fresh with new stuffed bagel variations. Two bagels with cream cheese will run $10. It took what seemed like a long time for the bagels to come out after ordering and, turns out, they lost our order and we had to show them the receipt. We had our bagels after 20 minutes. That said, the staff is very friendly and eager to please. I had the everything bagel with garden vegetable cream cheese. The bagels are large, soft, chewy and fresh. The portion of cream cheese is generous and mild. My husband had the Cheesy Hashbrown. He said that the Jalapeño cream cheese was really, really hot. I got an egg and bacon bagel sandwich on a poppyseed bagel, and it was exactly the flavor that I would expect from a Einstein sandwich. I woke up craving a jalapeño cheddar bagel and was able to satisfy that craving at Einstein. I would've preferred to get a bagel from a local spot but this the closest bagel shop to my house and I didn't have the time to go to Broadripple or downtown. We had a warm greeting upon entering and the case was filled with lots of different bagel options. I went with a toasted jalapeño cheddar bagel with plain cream cheese. I love the sliced jalapeños on top. We weren't planning on staying to eat but if we wanted to, we wouldn't have been able to because there are no tables and chairs inside the establishment. I didn't see any signage as to why but I was truly confused. They had a couple small tables set up outside but inside was completely empty. My husband had a black coffee and he said it did the trick to get his morning started. All in all, a pretty good experience! read more

They shorted (only 9) on my "baker's dozen" Monday special so I complained to customer service on their app and NEVER heard back from them.

I always get the Nova Lox Deli Lunch with potato salad. I usually get it on a sesame seed bagel, but forgot to request it, so it was on a plain bagel instead. As always, it was very tasty, I love the salmon and today I ordered it with extra salmon. The potato salad, which is made with new red potatoes, was also good, I've always enjoyed it. It's in a container that's just the right serving for me, not too much, not too little. The only issue I had today was hearing some of the employees loudly complaining about their personal lives and about their job. I hadn't been to an Einstein's in years. Most locations have closed. I've always been a fan of their bagels, so I was happy to stop in today. I got a poppy seed bagel with cream cheese and bacon and it hit the spot. Not many places have poopy seed bagels and I just love them! This review is for Saturday April 10, 2021 Since my lady and I had to bring one of our bunnies to the vet, we decided to stop here get a bagel each. She got the cinnamon apple bagel with honey almond shmear. Hers was really yummy, as she let me try it as well. I had an Asiago bagel with turkey, bacon, and avocado, it had romaine, tomato and a type if spread(like a mayo), over all I enjoyed my bagel also, my lady tried it too and like it. Since we ate these in a parking spot near the location, we are going back now to grab and go with some other bagels. I may write a review on this later if I remember too. I only gave one star because I can't give less. I stopped at the 86th st store this morning with my wife for a bagel smear and a drink. You can forget about even decent customer service at this location. There is no greeting, or even a 'what can I get you'. The cashier literally just stared at us and waited for us to give her an order - once she made her way to the register. Her only response to our 'hello' was the stare, which seemed to be contempt. The chai tea latte we asked for was initially made with coffee, by the cashier, and when we asked for it to be corrected, we got her eye roll and visible disgust. Unfortunately she almost made the second drink wrong which brought Michaela into the conversation for no reason, to make sure that we had actually paid for the drink. The experience went straight down hill from there. The three employees sharing the front service line all mutually seemed to have complete disdain for the customers. If you weren't assertive when ordering, you weren't going to be served. If you asked for any correction they going to make you feel like you were the problem. It has been years since we have been in Einstein, and we wanted to give it a try again. It used to be a great place to grab breakfast and hangout. Our experience this morning suggests that the only reason it can still serve a decent bagel is because corporate makes it hard to muck up the food. When I asked for the manager on duty, the same three employees made a game of getting to that person. First I was told "one of those two". Then I was told "Not me, and don't talk to me because I don't like you." Then I was told the girl who said she was not the manager actually was the manager. When I asked her, Michaela, for the business card of the GM, she told me "She doesn't have one, you'll have to come back Monday when she's here." The staff of this location could not do a much worse job of destroying whatever brand reputation Einstein still has. I won't be going back to this location, and judging by the 2-star ratings of all the other locations, I won't be going back to any indianapolis area Einstein again. As a side note, the bagel wasn't in itself bad, but there is no way it was good enough to ever return to this location and deal with the petulant children that the management has seen fit to run the place. read more

Used to frequent this location a lot. Like, more than the USDA recommends. Food pyramid? More like bagel pyramid. But now I'm less keen on this Einstein: Prices have risen while quality control has gone downhill, their best (ie friendliest and most competent) employees are long gone, and I'm tired of getting attitude when I order a complicated drink. As usual, I especially love this location cuz it's close to where I work and I can call in my order and then run in and grab it. That's my recommendation, because sometimes, especially at peak meal times, it can have a really long line and some people are so indecisive it makes me crazy!! SUPPOSED to be my first time here but I can't even count it because I didn't get my food. Had such high expectations for this bagel shop but it was such a huge disappointment. They were running out of bagels so every order ahead of us (& including us) had to switch it out with bagels that they did have. To me this is kind of bizarre. It was about 1140 when we placed our order. We ordered the farmhouse on hash brown bagel and chorizo sunrise on green chile. Not only were the workers COMPLETELY unorganized, no one communicated to one another which lead to customers standing around waiting for their name to be called. Like me, some others did not get their food. My boyfriend got his bagel but they forgot about mine. We were already waiting too long for an order that wasn't even complete only for them to tell me they don't have the bagel. Annoyed, I requested for a refund. FOOD: Now if I'm just rating the food (that I actually got, lol sorry im still a little salty)I'd give it four stars. Bagel is small but flavor is pretty good. I mean it's a breakfast bagel, not too hard to mess up. SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE:needs some kind of organization because it is waaaaay too hectic. We chose Einstein Brothers bagels at this location based purely on our previous years of loving them, predominately in the Southwest. The outside of the business was a bit disheveled with the awnings that are normally over the doors and windows being down on the sidewalk around the business. There were no chairs or tables inside for any customers to use but there were a couple outside. The manager, or person in charge, was not friendly at all... But just staring at us. No welcome, no nothing. Just stood there and waited for us to tell him what we wanted. The perception was that he didn't give a flip that we were there, didn't say a word the whole time, and did not thank us for coming... for coming. Zilch. Nada. The food was above average. A bit greasy, but the bagels are always amazing. My guest and I talked about why there might be no chairs or tables inside... Maybe it was Covid? But none of the staff had masks on... We were scratching our heads.... It will be a cold day in Hades before I go back to this place. Customer service is imperative, Mr. Sasquatch. I placed an order through Doordash today for an All Nighter Egg Sandwich on a Thintastic bagel and bottled Diet Coke. I did not get the sandwich on a Thintastic bagel (which was extra $) and they sent a fountain soda that didn't taste like a Diet Coke and had little to no carbonation. First time I've ever been into this location but it was a good experience. Did help me realize that different Einstein locations bake their bagels different ways. I usually visit a location in Arizona when I go there for a conference every year. Their cinnamon sugar bagels have it all lightly sprinkled over the whole bagel. At this location, it's caked onto the top. Not exactly my preference but I didn't notice before I ordered it. Wait time was pretty average, music overhead was nice. Oh how I have missed there bagels. Being locted on the west coast for the past 2 years I grew to miss some of the simpler things I took for graite, one of them was Einsteins'Bagels. Believe it or not, it is pretty hard to find a decent bagel in Los Angeles. I recently re-visited Einsteins and I had forgot just how good they are and Im sure most of us take that for granite. Upon this visit I triewd the Tuscan Herb bagel toasted with Sun Dried Tomatoa Schmear. THe bagel was really light almost like a good piece of sourdough or foccia which paired perfectlly with the sun dried tomato cream cheese. Going to Einstein's used to be our weekend ritual when we lived in California. Once we realized we could do coffee and bagels at home for a fraction of the price, we kinda stopped going. On Saturday morning we decided to venture on over to Einstein's for the nostalgia. The place was clean and bright. The staff was very helpful and quick. Went through the drive thru which took forever! I ordered a breakfast sandwich that was disgustingly cold when I opened it. Maybe it would have been better if it was warm but the sand which tasted old and like it had been sitting around for awhile. Our first complain is that we called multiple times and they declined our calls. Second of all when we came in we stood in line for far too long and before it was my turn the cashier lady just left and everybody had to wait another 10 minutes before she could take any more orders. This was by far the absolute worst visit. For starters there were only three people working and one person on the register. It took 6 mins for me to place my order with only one person ahead of me. I was not given my receipt and the person taking orders was not very customer friendly. I was given the wrong bagel and when I let the cashier know he took it from me, threw it in the trash, but not once did he apologize. From now on I will take my business elsewhere. read more
