Bagel quality and selections are outstanding! I grew up eating Einstein bagels because in elementary school, there would be a weekly bagel sale and I remember Asiago being my absolute favorite. That was back when I didn't even know there was more than one shmear to choose from. These days I lean towards the Honey Almond shmear flavor. Even in my 20's I can still confidently say the Einsteins staple never gets old. The service is another delightful addition to my mornings as the staff is entirely devoted to granting you with the most splendid morning they can. The atmosphere is casual over the weekends and commonly filled with families enjoying a brunch while during the week it's fantastic for a quick pitstop to grab breakfast on the way to the office. I have been here twice now and both experiences weren't very good. The first time I had an order ahead and it wasn't ready for 15 minutes after the time it was expected to be ready. No apologies from any of the workers for this, they seemed so unorganized.. They were out of some of the bagels I had ordered online too so that was frustrating. Lastly, they forgot the cream cheese in my order and so I came back in and the worker didn't want to believe me that she didn't put it in there. So I barely get anything other than my go to here. Their farmhouse breakfast bagel is to die for!! I add avocado to it as well. I've tried a few other bagel sandwiches and they are great but the farmhouse is my absolute favorite. Their smoothies & coffees are delicious as well!! Food is good but not worth the wait. This location takes FOREVER. They're not slammed and there's 7 people behind the counter. Why 2 bagel sandwiches took over 30 min to make is beyond me. Also with the 7 people on staff their lobby and outside seating isn't clean. The floors behind the counter are covered in cheese and bread crumbs. read more

I've been going to this location a 2 - 3 times a month for a few years now but over the last few months the whole experience has gone down hill. Though the staff is always friendly frequently the bins and upper shelf (pastries/cookies, etc) are either empty or very low in product. The speed of service is hit or miss, unfortunately more of a miss lately. There doesn't seem to be any organization or set system on which employee is responsible for what. They seem to running around not sure who is doing what and when. The last time I was there I ended up asking for a refund for my order because I had to get to work. I had been waiting close to 25 minutes for a single egg sandwich. A guy waiting with me said he'd been there for 30 minutes and was still waiting for his order. There were a lot of large orders ready for pick-up or delivery but those are usually ordered in advance so staffing should have been scheduled to accommodate these orders, along with walk-ins. Those large orders should not impact those who walk in for food or drinks. But.....I've noticed the slowness and lack of product even when there aren't a lot of orders waiting to go out. This location has decent bagels and sandwiches. The service and process of taking orders and cashiering, however, is broken and has been pretty much since they opened many years ago. It's slow and clumsy to put it mildly. They seem to have up to five people making sandwiches but only one person that takes orders, runs the cash register and god forbid, also making specialty coffees. Todays experience was typical. Long line waiting to place an order, watching that one counter person running back and forth doing essentially three jobs. My simply order of 6 bagels, followed by the payment took 20 mins. Three people behind me in line didn't have that much time and ended up just walking out. Unfortunately this store has always had some version of this priority of sandwich making and less so of streamlining the ordering/paying process. Please put some thought into improving this. read more

We had a large order of 35 bundles, and were very specific about what we needed... and Vanessa and her team were AWESOME about accommodating all of our needs and the desired mix of bagel and cream cheese flavors, also adding napkins, knives, freezer bag, etc. PLUS... Vanessa went WAY above and beyond, touching base with me several times leading up to our pick-up, then actually putting bows in our desired colors on our "Thanksgiving bundles" for us, and having them all stacked and ready when we arrived. (She even texted me a pic that morning, letting me know my order was ready in a fun way. : ) Then, without hesitation, Vanessa added another bundle we realized we needed at the last minute. Next, she and her team patiently accommodated our need to pay in specific small increments... AND THEN they cheerfully helped us load our cars with the bundles. They were all so great to work with, and you could really tell that Vanessa set the tone and had a great relationship with her employees! In addition to how she treated us, I saw her treat other customers with the same personal touch and caring service. I was very impressed. We had worked with the former manager Ash for more than 10 years on our annual bagel deliveries, and he had been great, and so I have to admit I was worried when he was gone that things might not go as well. First visit was for my free bday bagel and it was delicious. Today. I spent almost $10 for a farmhouse one egg sandwich combo. I waited probably 15 minutes. The twice baked hash was cooked so long the cheese was burnt and it was stuck to the paper. The sandwich itself gave me no thrill. The bacon wasn't thick like advertised. It all tasted bland. I did get one bite of cracked black pepper from the egg. Overall extremely disappointing and waste of money and carbs! I won't be returning. I ordered an everything bagel with butter double toasted and an egg I called it in when I got there I picked up my bagel it was ready. The bag was ripped I went to the car and I'm glad I checked it before I left the butter was oozing out everywhere but the egg was missing. I took it back in and I told the gentleman who was on the phone and I asked Miss said didn't I pay for an egg and he goes yes I said it's not there. He said OK. I am a fan of Einstein Bagels. They have a delicious assortment of flavors and they make different sizes, such a regular and skinny, human and pet bagels! They also have a wonderful selection of juices, coffees and beverages to suit just about anyone's taste. Once month a pick up a baker's dozen which comes with two choices of smears and a box of coffee for a meeting. They are always a big hit. The hot new cream cheese among my group is apple cinnamon cream cheese! My favorite part of this location and when dining in is the outdoor patio space! This location is always busy, both weekdays and weekends and especially in the am. I would probably give Einstein Bagels five stars, if the lines moved faster and the cleanliness in the seating area of the restaurant was improved. read more

I love bagels! They are probably not the best thing for you and they have like no nutrients, but they taste so good! I usually go to Garden State Bagel off Carlsbad Village, but ended up wandering out this way Sunday morning so I decided to stop at Einstein. Location: in the shopping center with Mimi's Cafe and McDonald's, plenty of parking. I ordered a Nova Lox Bagel (salmon, cream cheese, tomato, onion, hold the capers) and it was actually a few dollars cheaper than Garden State. I do have to say though, Garden State puts on a lot more of the salmon. But both places are delish! read more

Hey North County! I've been a customer of this location for almost 10 years now, and it is my absolute favorite. The manager Ash is extremely friendly and remembers familiar faces. The bagels are always fresh and taste delicious! I normally order the cinnamon sugar bagel toasted with cream cheese. The customer service at this location can be a hit or miss, which I completely understand when it's very busy. Normally weekend mornings are packed as well as Monday mornings when they have the $7 dozen bagel deal. If you're ever in the area, stop by Einstein's, you will not regret it and if you meet Ash he will make your day. read more

Okay so it's Covid season and they are not busy at all. By the looks of my avocado toast you would think that they were slammed and didn't have time to make this properly. Very disappointing. The avocado is grainy in texture and nearly tasteless. If they would have put the proper amount of Everything seasoning on top it would have been a little better. Total waste of money. 7/4/2020 update- this location is doing a fabulous job of dealing with the obstacles of COVID. The manager is really kicking butt and leading the store during this very difficult time. As a very loyal costumer I am so grateful for what she's done. Thanks for making us love this store again!! Update- my last review was 2 months ago and after my kids begged me we went back and I'm so glad they did that because it was a fabulous experience. Quick line because the workers knew what they were doing. The manager actually took my order and I told her I was impressed that the bagels looked great and the baskets full (it wasn't busy but they were prepared) but would give her an update if the bagels tasted as good as they looked- they did! She remembered me from my complaints and offered me the bagels for free and was very sweet. I took the offer and skipped out of the line and ate the bagels at home and they were amazing. We've been getting bagels from this store every Saturday or Sunday for 5 years so it's been pretty devastating not having anywhere to go and we are very happy the store is back on track. Thank you to the new manager!!! Ever since the change in management it's been a terrible experience. All the workers are new and being trained constantly- it's a busy store and the wait is so long now. The tables aren't cleaned because they can barely keep up with the food. Twice now the bagels were hard (like day old) and lacked toppings (see picture). I called and the new manager said the baker is still the same but I don't know how that is when the bagels taste and look different. We also asked for them slices and one wasn't even sliced and another was slightly sliced sideways. We've been coming to this location weekly for 5 years now and it's very unfortunate what has happened. I don't know why the other manager was removed but it's sad because he worked his butt off. He was always there hustling, his employees knew what they were doing and the line was always out of the door but it moved fast. Waited months, gave it another shot, regretted it immediately. This used to be a warm, happy place that I actually had some great memories from. Now it's dirty, disorganized and the food & staff are subpar to say the least. There used to be groups of women that met here weekly, other families we would see regularly, and Ash & his staff made that little bagel shop magical. Walked in to all of the tables shoved together. They were dirty, and no real way to sit at any of them. Okay whatever. Go to order and five people blank stare at us, yes five, like zombies just staring at us not responding while we order. Not a WORD. My kids and I all looked at each other confused. So after we order the woman finally says you pay at the end. Okay, we know the drill so we move over. All five heads turn to watch us walk to the end of the counter. It was eerie and left me with questions. Are these people being held hostage? Zombies? Hypnotized by me? No, I think just wildly unenthusiastic. Finally we are rung up and I ask for a fountain drink. The girl says "oh". Stares at the counter for a solid minute, then hands me a cup. Allllright. I go to fill up my drink, no ice. I ask for ice, they say they don't refill it and I have to let them put ice in my cup. Lazy but alright. So I decide to just take a sip and wait for my food. Flat, like almost zero bubbles in it flat. I ask the girl and she informs me that's how soda is. I'm officially in the upside down. After about 20 mins and being the only order in there at the moment, I receive the food. Cool, so we retreat from the Soviet interior of the restaurant and go to the once charming patio. That too is filthy. We sit there in what's almost an eerie vibe and open our food. 2 bagels with cream cheese and a tasty turkey. 5 employees, 20 mins of waiting, and our order was entirely incorrect. Nothing was toasted, the bagels were wrong, and my tasty turkey was an Untoasted bagel, turkey, no veg, and about an inch of cream cheese. I was extremely confused as I asked for extra tomato, onion etc. My kids bagels with cream cheese both being blue & raisin, were smothered with herb cream cheese. So that was kind of gross. We decide to go inside and swap everything out for what our receipt even said we had ordered... and only one person was working (did the other four vanish??) and a small line had formed. As we walk back outside we go to return to the patio and deal with it, however there's a homeless man setting up to bathe himself there. We offered him our bizarre food and left. My advice to whoever owns this? The only way you'll save it is if you find Ash, and BEG the man back. Pay him whatever he needs bc he made a chain store feel like home. I stopped by 2 days ago to grab breakfast. I ordered the bacon avocado and tomato egg white sandwich. After 10 min of waiting for my bagel, they asked me to choose a different bagel because they didn't have plain. I didn't receive my "bagel" until 25 min after I ordered it while other customers had been getting their orders delivered. I said "bagel" because when I opened my sandwich it was 3 pieces of egg white and a piece of tomato that looked like they just threw it in there, there was no bacon and it was the smallest bagel I've seen in my life.
