This is a bit of a mixed-bag review. The bagels have definitely gotten smaller since my previous visits, and the portions of cream cheese seem to have shrunk as well. That said, my pretzel bagel with cream cheese was still very tasty and satisfying. The employees were personable, friendly, and provided good customer service, which is always appreciated. They alone would receive 5 stars. Where this location was sorely lacking was cleanliness. The women's restroom wasn't overflowing with trash, but it was noticeably dirty and in need of attention. The dining area also could have used a thorough cleaning, including sweeping the carpets washing the floors and wiping down tables. I would return because I do enjoy the bagels and the staff is welcoming. However, if I encountered the same level of cleanliness issues on a future visit, it would likely be my last. read more

I've been going to Einstein's on 7th Ave for five years. It's always clean. The coffee is fresh, and the staff, including Manager Terry, is very professional. They will go out of their way to meet your needs. As I write this, there is no annoying background music playing. As you can tell from the pictures, the floors are always clean. There are seats available both outside and inside. Service is fast. If you don't want to wait you can order ahead either with their app or your PC. There is some personnel turnover, but whomever they hire is always pleasant and accommodating. It's not just about bagels. They have mock tails. They sell sandwiches, all of which are very hearty and high in protein. These sandwiches are suitable for both lunch and breakfast. If you sign up for their loyalty program, you can receive free coffee when ordering remotely. Sometimes you can get free bagels by participating in a surveys. It's better than good, no question, and with a little effort, you can make it almost free. I recommend Einstein's Bagels on 7th Ave. with the utmost confidence. Went for breakfast. I don't remember the exact thing I ordered , but I know it involved a bagel of my choice (I chose sesame) avocado, tomato, bacon, and egg white. I assumed the bacon would be cooked but it twas not. My avocado was not ripe so I literally didn't eat much of the sandwich. This is minuscule but the sandwich wasn't even cut in half , which is wild. I took a pic so you can check for yourself . It wasn't busy so idk what the heck. If I could rate ZERO stars I would! So disappointed in This location. Been eating at Einsteins for at least 5 years and they've NEVER disappointed until TODAY!! I asked for a garden avacodo bagel. Added turkey, cheese jalapeño bagel, and cheese. 1st time, no turkey. 2nd time, had turkey but they added bacon for some reason? Also forgot cheese. 3rd time I THOUGHT it was perfect. We frequent here often! It's quick, easy and tasty! I typically order from the app so when we walk in our food is ready. I usually arrive about 15 minutes after ordering and our bagels have always been ready! This is especially great if it's a weekend and you want to avoid a long line. My all time favorite and never fails is the all-nighter bagel and my husband will agree, it's our go-to. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. One time, a manager noticed I was waiting for quite some time and asked me my name on my order and once we realized I closed the app before the order completed it never went through, so he had them rush the order, which I thought was very thoughtful (oops on my end, in the app it actually says don't close, order processing, so don't be like me). OK, I need to be fair. A busy store sometimes needs to make their less common bagels earlier and hope there's enough and they stay fresh. Meaning a dry pretzel bagel shouldn't have been a surprise, but at 7 a.m. I expected fresher. This wasn't. The staff here was nice and efficient. I haven't been to this location in a while... Today I brought my kids and their cousins to get some bagels... And discovered I couldn't pay with a bill larger than a $20. Now it is 8:30 in the morning. I get not accepting bills late at night, but to do it in the middle of the day? That's insane. Also the gal who was ringing me up was extremely difficult to hear.... And she failed to tell me about the "no $50's" until after she took the bill, looked at it, and canceled the screen for the card.... My order was over $20. I stopped in Einstein's bagels today on 44th. It was the second time I had been in there. I left my glasses in the car so it was hard for me to see but I ordered four blueberry bagels and two cinnamon raisin bagels and a breakfast sandwich. At the checkout, I my debit card and the guy that was checking me out showed me where to tap it because I left my glasses in the car then he said I have a surprise for you and he said tap one of the boxes and I said where and he goes right here and he pointed and I said what is it and he said it's a surprise so I tapped one of the boxes. Service is great, and Terry(manager), does a great job, of keeping the machine, rolling smoothly. I love the staff. And, I'm always greeted & thanked, for coming in. My husband and I have been to this location many times and never had any problems. Today the service was so poor. I did the order ahead as I normally do and waited 30 minutes before approaching the counter. Another customer that had came after me was attended to before me. No big deal. The inconsistency is so frustrating. Today's Nova Lox sandwich was so overloaded with capers that I had to remove a fair amount - and I like capers. In fact, there have been times that there were so few that I've added my own. See new photo for the pile of capers I removed. This is about 1/3 of what was on there. In addition, the tomatoes were bad. Mushy, faded color and tasring sour. They really need to pay more attention to the quality of their tomatoes, and perhaps not slice so many in advance, before they make someone sick. read more

So mini me and I wanted to get bagels this morning. He was excited because he loves the cinnamon sugar bagels. We got there, and walked in to a vibe that was indescribably upsetting. (A little history on me: I am the most upbeat person ever, and I see the good in situations 99.9% of the time. So for me to say something was amuck in this place, I am dead serious there was a funk.) Walked in and was greeted with the cook slamming the microwave and throwing his arms in the air. (When I say cook, I mean the guy who heats things up and wraps the food.) He opened the microwave again and slammed it a couple more times. He was so upset trying to pull together orders grumbling angry mumbles. It was obvious they didn't have any staff and I realized the love level of food prep was probably not gonna be too high today. Finally this poor kid threw everything down in a grand Napoleon Dynamite fashion and went around the corner leaving us alone with the cashier who had his face wrapped up like a mummy; all you could see were slits for eyes (Such an interesting morning) At this point all we could hear was the manager yelling. (I know it was the manager because I met her last time I was there and her voice is pretty shreiky and hard to ever mistake for anyone else.) Finally, a girl came out with her mask below her nose. She was so done with everything, her attitude reeked of despair and dreams for a different life. (Both of these employees needed a hug honestly, I felt for them, until I didn't.) The girl took my order and asked me about 4 times what I wanted and each time got it wrong. She typed it into the register and gave me the biggest box on earth for 6 bagels. When she was putting them in the box she still got it wrong and had to ask me two more times what I wanted. At that point I was starting to get grumpy. She walked my order over to the cashier who yet again asked me what I ordered because my food was in a giant togo box. I told him three more times and then he opened the box to look at what was there. At that point I felt my blood pressure rise, which fueled an irritating rumble in my attitude. As the guy yanked out the grabby paper that separated the cheese bagels from the cinnamon ones, I felt my skin turn green like the Hulk. The manager was still yelling on and off but was never seen. She was still in the back area, like that slight corner provided shelter to our ringing patron ears. The line was getting longer and the microwave door was still being slammed. It was like a straight up dumpster fire inside this place. I walked out, got in the car and felt myself so pissed off inside. It was like I knew what the microwave door felt like. I have never been affected by a place like that. It was so whack inside and the employees were so stupid dysfunctional on so many levels of sadness, gawd! Got home and mini me kept saying what is this inside my bagel? I was like maybe it's just your hands because you just washed them? He sad no, look... The inside of his bagel had a blop of funky butter crammed in the middle. HOW did it get there and just WHAT??! At this point I was doing a Platoon cry with my arms in the air on my knees yelling WHYYYYYYYY?!? Our bagels were hard, not soft, and very hard to even rip apart. It made me sad they felt fine serving these teeth raking, knife dulling circles of disappointment. (I'm hanging my head in case you were wondering.) This whole experience was so wrong on so many levels. The first being I let myself internally turn Hulk with rage. The second was the overall sadness of the staff. It was clear we were witnessing a complete breakdown on all levels. The state of funk this place generated was unreal; the employees were basically cannon fodder for Yelpers united. Disclaimer: I don't enjoy giving crappy reviews, I love a great experience. I look forward to trying new places and meeting new people every time we venture out. I love calling the place we just visited and thanking them for being so awesome. It pains me when things are so bad I say beware in a Yelp. I could keep going about this place, but I would need to take medication for my blood pressure. Overall, I wish these people luck on pulling it together. The flavor was very good but the inside dough of the burrito seemed a little too chewy and raw for us. I would definitely return and next time try their eggel made with just eggs. read more
