Follow up to my last post. I was in the area and decided I would try ordering a Cranberry Toasted Bagel! I made it very clear while going through the drive thru- I want it toasted, brown not burnt! I went to pay and he handed me my bagel which I looked at immediately while waiting for my ice tea, to find yet again, heated not toasted! I said to the very nice cashier, it's not toasted! He said " he would remake me another one and gave me card for a free bagel for next time! I really hate doing that, but maybe it will help train the staff for next time! Please see image in my post. I have been an avid bagel lover for the last four decades and have enjoyed my favorite ones with a cup of coffee while perusing the stores in Soho...but when it comes to making a choice for a bagel sandwich and coffee or juice outside of Manhattan it's been either Brueggers or Einstein for me. There is however one problem child and that's the Kietzke Lane store where they mass produce bagels and schmear yet are skimpy on customer service, product quality and getting orders right. I test drove this store by going through their drive thru and in store for a month, spent more than $200 on the product and was treated like a stranger, with indifference when my orders were prepared incorrectly, was never upsold an item nor thanked for my purchases. Instead I was provided poorly made sandwiches, lightly toasted bagels with too much schmear and even ignored by the male manager who I interacted with a few times. Business is booming nonetheless...and I don't know about you but I'm a sucker for fresh food, smiles, a welcoming and clean environment and a feel at home ambiance. I was hesitant to return to Einstein Bros. Bagels after my last visit when my order was incomplete, but decided to give them another chance. I placed a mobile order this time and, when I went in to pick it up, decided to grab a dozen bagels for my coworkers as well. They didn't have any plain cream cheese. Seemed to be a little chaotic in there. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. I tried to pay with a $100 bill, but the staff at the register didn't have enough change. Instead of handling it professionally, the manager came over and scolded the employee right in front of me, which was uncomfortable and unnecessary. In the end, I had to use another form of payment just to complete the purchase. Between the previous incomplete order and the awkward interaction this time, it just wasn't worth the hassle. Save yourself the trouble--buy local and head to Reno Bagel on Moana instead. read more

Wanted something quick for breakfast but it took way longer than expected. FYI: This was my first time at this franchise. I placed an order for a jalapeño cheddar bagel with egg, bacon and cheddar sandwich. The bagel was great. I really enjoyed its softness and flavor. The sandwich as a whole fell short. I couldn't really taste the egg because it was very thin so I wish they would had offered a double egg. And the bacon was super thin and I only had like a piece of bacon. The cheese was stiff, not even melty. I wish I would have known to add cream cheese too. My kids thought it was too bland. Ordered the dragon fruit lemonade and my son didn't even drink it. He said it was too sweet. I got the cold brew with caramel and I thought that was way too sweet. The tables were dirty when we sat. No one was going around cleaning any. I thought we sat for a long time waiting for these simple sandwiches. It took them like 15 minutes to make them! Overall, Not worth what we paid. read more

I returned here, since Deanna F had a birthday coupon, despite the fact the owner reached out, asked me to fill out a survey for corporate and that I would hear back for resolution- which never happened. The bagels did seem fresher this time, which was nice. For how expensive my bagel sandwich was I expected it to be a bit better- it was fine though. Chocolate chip cookie was mid. Came in for a toasted bagel and cream cheese, it was barely toasted, as some others have mentioned. Coffee special pricing is highly advertised although you cannot get decaf or make it iced. (How hard is that?) Went to wash my hands and when I came out there was a brown bag on the counter, no name or anything. Staff behind counter just walked past as I was trying to ask if it was my order. It took a few minutes until someone said "yes." Why not put a name on the bag with a marker or something... this isn't good customer service. They had four customers at 9 am. Maybe this is why . Not sure if we will come back. read more

Ordered a bagel and automatically thought that it would be cut in half. It wasn't which is no big deal, but when I asked if it could be cut in half the employee said no because it is a "safety issue" and gave me a plastic knife to do it myself. I needed to ask when I ordered, apparently. Lol ridiculous. As a chef for 27 years I always went out of my way to make the customer happy. Times have changed I guess but I won't be back. read more

This is probably the worst bagel place. Lousy customer service that comes with a convoluted sense of self-importance. We preordered our bagels 2.5 dozen for an office party. We came to pick them up next day at the pickup time and they told us they were out of all the bagels we pre-ordered a day earlier. This was our 2nd unprofessional experience at this place. Never again, and we will be sure to share these incidents with all our friends and yelp community. Plenty of bagel businesses around we would love to help get additional orders. read more

If I could give this location a zero, I would. I came in and waited in line at around 11:20. There was 1 apple cinnamon bagel and so I ordered that and a small coffee. I paid and left a tip. The coffee bar is so sad. There use to be bar of flavored, hot coffees and now there are 3 sad containers. The first light roast container was empty, so I guess I'm trying the other one, which turned out to be luke warm. I waited about 10 minutes at a table for my order and I was now told that they ran out of my bagel because an online order took precedence. I said, ok and went to ask for a refund. I was ok with the room temperature coffee but not the lack of bagel. I use to love this place even though it is out of the way. I need to find a bagel place that keeps a decent stock and keeps hot and fresh coffee. Also, there was a homeless man inside eying people with his tall boy of Mickie's beer, so be cautious of your surroundings here. read more

I've been going to this Einstein's location since long before the roof collapsed but this was such a bad experience! I placed an online order after being disappoint by closure at my 2:00 arrival. I placed my order for pick up the next day at 11. I arrived at about 12 to find the drive up closed again with the lame excuse they were understaffed. (4 employees I could see this pickup) A frequent repeat event this past year. As I am disabled this is a huge negative! Then I get my order home...my bagels have been the driest I've Ever experienced. It was like they had been bagged since the night I placed my order or longer. My pretzel bagels were also dry but had no or just a one inch square of salt at the edge. Not at all what I've come to expect for Einsteins/Noahs! I hope the current staff gets some retraining. read more

This is the worst location I've ever been to. By 10:00 am every trash can was full, the bathrooms had no toilet paper, the floors were gross, and none of the coffees were full. They need to be shut down. We waited an hour for the Santa Fe sandwich and regular bagel with cream cheese. After all that time, neither were toasted and they claimed it was a bad toaster and the sandwich eggs and sausage were cold. Absolutely disgusting. read more

Review update - originally left a 2 star review and now correcting to one. I drove THIRTY minutes to this location yesterday as I know they have a drive through and I was in my PJs after dropping kids off at school. When I arrived, the drive through was closed.. this is after the lobby being closed last week when I wanted to enter into the lobby. I do end up taking the trek inside in my PJs and walk right up to order. (Wasn't busy at all, why is drive through closed?). I placed an order for three bagels and paid an extra upcharge for two eggs on each bagel. After making the THIRTY minute drive back home, I opened my bagels to find ZERO eggs on them - not even the eggs that originally come on them. The owner of this business comments on every review to put on the front that the business cares and corrects issues however they make YOU reach out to them via email and when you do, they dont respond. Parking is nonexistent. Every space was full. Parked in the electric charging spot. Long line and not much selection left and it's only 8:45 am! Friendly staff. 20 minute wait for one breakfast bagel. No napkins in the holder. Got my order wrong, but thankfully, I had an inkling to check my order before I pulled out of the parking lot and sure enough it was wrong Their service recovery, however, was perfection. Had my correct order within 2 minutes with a very sincere apology. I think their problem is short staffing. The staff they do have are friendly, sincere, and very apologetic if something goes wrong. Maybe next time I'll order online and just do a pick up that seem to go pretty well for the folks that did that I love their bagels and their smears if they could just get there staffing issues figured out they'd be golden. read more

First time eating here and I have to say I was not at all impressed. Ordered the bacon egg cheese Asiago bagel with hash brown and blueberry muffin online. Upon picking it up the bagel was cold and I was not happy with the quality of the bagel. The hash brown was in a paper bag that the hash brown stuck to so the crust and a good amount of the hash brown was wasted and it was very small at that. I believe this establishment can do a whole lot better. I only gave it 2 stars cause the blueberry muffin was good. read more

It's Monday, so we decided to pick up a box of bagels using Einstein's app and their Monday special. Once in the store, we selected our bagels for the week, added a Maplehouse Egg Sandwich, and got a cup of Hazelnut Vanilla Coffee. At checkout, we were informed that the corporate office had changed the policy for their Monday special. Now, you must make an in-store purchase sometime during the month to qualify for the Monday special, and it can't be done through the app. This new policy starts on the first of the month and ends on the last day. We were surprised because we hadn't received any notice via email or through the app. Fortunately, they honored the Monday special for us today, so we're set for the rest of the month. However, a little notice would have been appreciated. Once we'd paid and sat down, we enjoyed our breakfast. The Maplehouse Egg Sandwich was on a French Toast Bagel with egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, sausage, and honey almond shmear. It struck a perfect balance between sweet and savory, and I savored every bite. Overall, we enjoy the chewy texture of their bagels and usually get a baker's dozen to go for the week. We may need to adjust our plans with the new policy change, but it won't stop us. We'll be back for more bagels soon. read more

OK, I'm from NYC and a bit of a bagel snob. In actuality, it's probably the water and the altitude that affects the baking process. Rounds came to as close to a NY bagel as I could find in Reno. Followed by Einstein's. Then they both closed and I was lost. Tried Desert Bagel .. they're not bad .. not a good as Rounds or Einsteins. And Lox Stock and something Bagels .. big doughy rounds of bread. But really nice people. And when your name starts with Lox, you shouldn't run out of them. So when Einstein's reopend recently I was very very happy. I asked what happend .. owner Steve said that a few years ago we had all that rain, he developed a leaky roof. Then he was not able to find a reliable contractor to make the repairs and was forced to close. But everything is repaired and they are once again open for business. Einsteins is about 5 1/2 miles from home, so I just don't stop every once in a while for a bagel. I usually buy the bakers dozen, take them home, slice them and freeze them (double bag). Then when I want a bagel I just pop it in the oven frozen, I get a nice crusty outside with a soft inside. read more

Haven't been in a while. So I went to the Kietzke location. I like to do my orders over the phone but when I called I was told I can only do an online order. So I did. There are no options for customizations so I figured I would buy a small spread when I get there. That did not happen. The line was long as usual. I walked myself to the pick up counter. Waited about 5 minutes. Not one person acknowledged me. So I had to ask a girl who was walking by me very quickly if I was at the right counter. She said yes and hands me my order with the wrong drink. So now I am waiting for my drink to be made which defeats the whole purpose of ordering ahead. So now I am stuck at work eating a dry disgusting bagel that tastes nothing like they use to and I am very annoyed and definitely will not be returning. I've never done this before...but oh my gahhh CLOSE THIS LOCATION DOWN. there's no point in keeping this one open when it takes 25 mins to wait for a bagel. The place is good don't get me wrong but service? TRASH. Ordered mobile takeout on their website prior to coming since I know they take a while. Had gotten there and waited a few minutes since there was no order on the shelf. The line was of course super long so I just tried to get an employee's attention and ask super quick about a mobile pickup order. When I said "excuse me, I have a mobile pickup order-" I was cut off the employee (guy with glasses) and he told me that the girl at the register can help me. MIND YOU, I was very polite. I was like "okay, I have been waiting for 15mins in the line? I have to wait to get my paid mobile order?". He completely disregarded me, walking and responding to me saying "I can't help you, im busy doing stuff, you can go to the front." Rude tone and rude in general when you're not even talking to me as a person but walking and talking. Finally got to the register and turns out they said my mobile order was taken by a door dasher . LIKE BRUH. Don't yall check names? It made no sense because the mobile order shelf was behind the counter so they would have had to GIVEN the order to the dasher?? It made no sense but whatever. The girl at the front with glasses was really kind and helped issue my refund. She was kind enough to give us a muffin and energy drink for free, so for that I am grateful for. She was at least really nice and polite about the whole situation. I felt bad because I know she gets all the angry and inpatient customers, as she is the only one taking orders. As for the guy, you're rude. I understand you're under pressure and have so many orders but don't take it out on the customers, take that up with your manager about hiring more people or adding more to your shift because 3 workers for a morning shift at a breakfast place AINT ENOUGH. so shame on management and shame on your service. Only saying this because the Disc location is at least FULLY STAFFED, POLITE and actually gets orders going. Wait time is still long but at least they ain't a mess. Food is good, It's been a place I used to go at least once a week. Now maybe once a month or whenever their drive thru is actually open on a weekend. Spoiler it's been at least 2 months I've driven by the place every Saturday sometimes Sunday see the drive thru is closed and just take my business elsewhere. Disappointing is an understatement. Really hope they figure it out not sure how many more empty trips I can make before I stop all together. Yes I've gone inside but I don't like doing that. Especially when you have to stand in line for 10 or so minutes and wait another 10 for food. Man it's so sad what has happened to this place after the roof collapsed, they have never been the same. Also inside the tables seems to be rarely ever actually clean, it's like they rely on customers cleaning up their own mess and they clean at close. Not a place I typically would want to eat at. The outside tables are nice though.... Ima just out this here... please find a way to open the drive thru over the weekend you know how many times I've showed up just to see people leave cause you have a closed drive thru not including me it's probably insane the amount of sales you're losing out yearly cause of this. I'm only giving one star because I love their bagels! Shoutout to the Einstein bros! but let me be clear, the customer service is HORRRRRIBLE!!!!!! Someone who works there named HALEY I dosent deserve a customer service job whatsoever..... on top of her dental hygiene, she is very disrespectful at the mouth. I simply asked her why I was being charged more and she continued to talk over me, and NOT let me speak, than I kindly ask her if I can speak, she is going to look at my big eyed and say "what" then say she is the manager I continued to go off, because what kind of manager delivers this type of customer service? Simply pushing the customers away. Let's not talk about the whole crew looking underage and moving as slow as a snail. I waited 30 mins for them to mess up on the easiest order, tell me it was correct and try to give me the bagel they all stuffed their noses on to smell it... This was by far the worst experience overall, and for this to be my favorite bagel place , visiting out of town... I will NEVER come back. I come here all the time. I love the store and all the employees, but lately they have been closing the drive thru and a lot of time i can't go in because I have my kids and dog in my car. So I drive all the way there past other coffee places just to not be able to get my bagel and coffee. Lately the lack of employees had made their place a disaster. As much as I like their bagels, I will no longer visit this location. For some reason, since covid, they cannot get their act together. 45 minutes to get a toasted bagel with cream cheese!?!? There were 4 people in front of me in line when I checked in and 2 waiting for their order. Everyone sitting had their food. Super slow service for average food. Haven't been here in a while, when did they start barking out a name once and leaving it on the counter instead of making eye contact with the customer?
