I used to frequent this location at least once a week. That is until they starting asking for a tip when you pay with a card. They have the nerve to hold up the pad to have you select a tip amount. Felt like a bagel for breakfast and decided to head on down! I had tried to find this spot previously, but I couldn't locate it (It's back near the Taco Bell ON the Grand side of Town Center). I finally found it today and saw that they had a drive through! Score! I went with an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and a plain garlic bagel. Total was $4.50 or so. Bagels were decent. Not too much cream cheese on the bagel. I took half the everything with cream cheese and half the plain garlic and kind of made 2 mixed bagel sandwiches. That way, I got cream cheese in every bite. I went throughout the drive through around 1. Looking at the menu I made my selection of the tasty turkey sandwiches. I asked the lady what all was on it. I couldn't read the fine print. She proceeded to not only continue to speak over me loudly but told me cream cheese. I asked no what is inside of the sandwich. She told me, then asked for no tomato. I came in to this location to pick up an order of a dozen bagels, a sandwich, and a coffee. This was on 10/22/2022 and it was in the morning, the store was very busy. I got the big box of bagels and coffee first, I set it on top of the glass case (where it was extremely visible) and was waiting for the sandwich. As I was waiting the employee began to take out the baskets of bagels and set them on top of the case, one by one she set them up there, I moved my box of bagels to the corner and she proceeded to push my box and coffee and it ended up spilling the coffee ALL OVER ME! the coffee tumbled down from the counter and hit the cream cheese display and spilled ALL over me, ruining my shoes and shirt as they are now both stained with coffee! I was shocked because she saw me set it there, saw me move it, and then she proceeded to literally push it off. The minute she did it, she ran away to the back, and never came back out! another employee handed me napkins as coffee was ALL over my legs too! and she came around and began to mop. She gave me a "free bagel" coupon and she said that employee was new but should not have done that. So my sneakers and shirt were ruined, I tried to wash them and bleach them to no avail! I write this as I await the toasting of a bagel bought at Safeway. One star is far too much for this establishment. For context, I work right next to an Einsteins downtown, I am reasonably familiar with this chain, and this is the only place I consistently run into issue. Ultimately, I blame management. Instead of getting into a convoluted mess as to why you need to avoid this place, I will instead give a brief description of my 4 visits - one of which was "successful". First time was around their opening weekend. I went in, it was busy - they were out of basically every bagel I typically enjoy (7 or so). Instead I ordered an egg sandwich w/ bacon and ordered my wife the same. We decided to take it home because of how busy it was inside the restaurant. Once arriving home, we opened our food. Both orders completely different. Different bagel, different style of eggs and one w/o bacon. I was disappointed to say the least. I was too far away to warrant asking for correction, so I sit there and eat food I did not want. I endured and attributed it to the "newness". Second visit was months later and went well. Got in there around 10am on a Saturday. The place had an expected amount of customers. I ordered a bagel, toasted with cream cheese. Lo and behold, it was flawless execution. Third visit. Again around 10-11am on a Saturday. Place was dead. One strange feature was the fact that they had a very limited selection. Once again - none of the typical bagels I enjoy are available. They told me more bagels were scheduled to be cooked, but it would take a moment. Not wanting to wait around, I ordered the same breakfast bagel as the first visit. . When it came out, it was once again the wrong style of egg and on a some wheat/multi-grain bagel. Since I was still there I was able to ask them to correct the mistake, which they did with aplomb. Fourth visit. This time I showed up at noon on a Saturday. What most restaurants might consider a lunch rush. I walked in, the place had 4 customers seated and eating. I walked right up to the counter. There was a selection of exactly 3 bagels. The cashier told me more bagels will not be ready until 12:30 - their regularly scheduled time. We got into a conversation, but the gist was that they only make new bagels at some ungodly time in the morning and 12:30p. Now, generally, I don't write reviews. While waiting for my bagel to cook I decided to look on Yelp for reviews of the place. There are numerous reviews questioning why this place is always out of THEIR MAIN FOOD ITEM. I join them in their questioning of management. This is a chain. I have been to many chains like this. However, this is the only one I consistently experience woeful management. If my food consistently comes out wrong - I blame management for not training their staff or hiring staff capable of toasting a bagel. If the main product sold is constantly out during peak hours. I blame management. Sadly, I should blame Einsteins for not correcting such horrendous management. Yet, I enjoy the one next to my work too often for that. I hope Surprise either loses a Einsteins bagel shop or this one is brought up to standard. To continue with such ineptitude would be a disgrace to free-market bagel principles. Caramel Macchiato and it's just as I expected, nice job. I also ordered the Classic Egg sandwich, plain bagel with bacon and cheddar. It was handed to me on a basket, and the top of one half had already fallen off and pieces of bacon were scattered as well. The eggs were lukewarm and the bacon was refrigerator cold!
