Cooked just right. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Excellent, fresh flavor! As it is prepared to order, expect about a 15 minute wait time for the chicken... but WELL worth that wait, as it turned out. Fries and Onion Rings sides were PERFECT, and tastier than most. Interesting, varied menu, too! Very generous portions... and the chicken pieces were real, actual sized pieces of chicken... not like the canary-sized tidbits served up by today's fried chicken chain outlets! Although the seating area was VERY small (store front operation,) the facilities were bright, clean and well maintained. The staff was welcoming, patient and most helpful as we worked our way through their surprisingly large, and varied menu! Reasonably priced, too! Overall... a happy find... and now one of our go-to favorites! Just wish they had a LOT more locations closer (to us!) Surprise/Sun City areas would benefit from having closer access to Outta Bronx sandwich/hot dog/wings/Krispy Krunchy chicken locations! I think it would catch on in no-time... assuming today's quality, and value, remained the same, of course. I'm, generally, hard to please... but Outta Bronx/Krispy Krunchy chicken seems to hit it on all cylinders! VERY pleased. Mark us down as huge fans!

The display cases are filled with an incredible variety of beautifully decorated cakes, pastries, cookies, and traditional sweets that make choosing just one treat nearly impossible. Beyond the desserts, the shop offers an impressive selection of freshly baked breads, Italian cookies, pasta, imported groceries, sauces, and ready-to-take-home meals. The refrigerators are packed with homemade specialties that make it easy to bring a delicious Italian dinner home without doing all the work yourself. Everything looks fresh, made with care, and rooted in tradition. The warm, family-style atmosphere/service and abundance of authentic products make it a place where you'll want to browse slowly and leave with much more than you planned. Whether you're stopping in for a cannoli, picking up a cake for a celebration, or stocking your kitchen with Italian favorites, this bakery is a true hidden gem. A wonderful reminder that the best food is often found in small places with big hearts.

They have a large selection of cookies, cakes, and even premade dinners that you can take home and bake yourself, which I thought was a great idea for a convenient meal. There is seating tables inside and outside, and the customer service was good but very much a classic New York-style experience. We ordered an eggplant Parmesan sandwich and a chicken Parmesan sandwich. The bread was good. For dessert, I tried a chocolate cannoli, which unfortunately wasn't to my taste, and a wedding cookie, which was light and fluffy but just okay. I also bought several other cookies, but most of them had a flavor that reminded me of the glass display case they were stored in. the cookies just didn't taste very good to me. I also ordered an iced latte, and the total for everything came to about $30, which I thought was a good value considering we had two sandwiches, desserts, and a drink.

A West Valley Gem Packed with Flavor, Charm, and Plenty to Discover…read more If you've ever driven past that bright pink building on the corner of 101st and Grand Avenue in Sun City and wondered, "What's in there?" let me save you the suspense: it's the New York West Bakery, and it's absolutely worth pulling over for. In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.
