Immediately, I was overwhelmed with the smell of the food and the welcoming greeting, he gave me More goes to the wrap was huge.

Veggie plate with BEST falafel, hummus and potatoes- ever!
    Nicole F.

Delicious food!!!! This place is fantastic. Probably the best falafel I've ever had. More texture in the mix, so they probably use fresh chick peas vs. powder. The roasted potatoes are to die for and the chicken shawarma wrap was not only full of tender, deliciously seasoned chicken, it was huge. And there are toppings galore. We came here before a Canucks game to eat better food at better prices than what you can ever get at a corporate arena. It's a five minute walk, so it's super convenient and soooo worth it. If we lived in Vancouver, we'd be here every week. This place is authentic, immaculate and just darned tasty. Mm! Enjoy!

Amazing wraps and service! I found this place on yelp and we were staying in an Airbnb across the street. I ran over there and got takeout so we can enjoy it at our place and I was not disappointed! Both the chicken Shawarma wrap and the lamb wrap were delicious. He makes it to order and you can put in as little or as much of all of the items as you want. There are so many different fixins to put on including cheese, vegetables, different types of sauce, and some spicy stuff. I also got a Greek salad which was delicious. Everything was very fresh and good quality. We actually got take out here twice in two days, that's how delicious it was! The guy working here is super nice and very accommodating. Highly recommend!!

I have to say Einstein is a pleasant surprise near Keefer Street (or International Village neighbourhood) and Yelp brought me here for cheap eats. I got Chicken Shawarma wrap ($6.50) for lunch earlier and it was filling and delicious. Meat slices in the wrap was tender and moist, whereas some Donair joint had dry pieces in them. It was also fresh and full of greens as well. Service was fast and friendly. Maybe I should switch to Einstein instead of Babylon Cafe? **Visa and debit are accepted. NO wifi here.

It's a wrap / donair / pita place... It's right beside the entrance to the International Village Mall parking lot.... Pretty new place (they've only been open for about 2 weeks).... the owners (family place... wife, and husband) have been involved in this kind of business before (the husband worked at Pita King on Expo Blvd for a few years). Now they've struck at it on their own. Limited menu... chicken shawarma and lamb... a few combos with salads or rice as the side. It's a tiny place, but the space is used fairly well... there's a few bar stools spread around the front window, and on the wall. I had the chicken shawarma wrap.... as a combo. The chicken was pretty tasty and flavourful... the salad was pretty good (maybe a touch too much vinegar in the dressing... but only a touch). And thankfully they're making taboulleh for the wraps (I think this guy was the only one at the Pita King making taboulleh... when he left... no more taboulleh). For the price... it was VERY filling, and I felt I got a lot of value for the $$$. Would definitely go back if I was feeling hungry or snackish! Edit... Forgot to mention... saw a "Halal" sticker on the window... FYI.

Great place to pick up a quick bite. Fresh, delicious food. Friendly service. Minimal seating; stools in front of window or against wall.

    Chicken and lamb platter

Surprisingly good. I honestly did not expect the food here to be this good. After one visit, this place has become my favorite wrap/donair place. I had the lamb and chicken platter and every component of the platter (except for one) ticked the right "tastiness" box. The chicken was tender and not dry. The lamb was bouncy and not tough. The rice was moist. The salad was fresh. The platter was not overly sauced - the right amount of sauce was drizzled on. The hummus had a good consistency along with a good flavor. The pita was nicely toasted so that it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The lone outlier was the falafel - it was super dry and super tough...but that was totally forgivable given the tastiness of the other components. 3.89 stars

    Lamb donair platter $8.49
    LL Cool J.

Wraps start at $6.49. To be honest, I don't know the difference between a shawarma, donair, and falafel... So I ordered the lamb platter, which was $8.49. The plate comes with salad, potatoes, pita, lamb, and rice. It was flavorful and the lamb was tender. Portions are large for me, and the prices are reasonable. They opened around a month ago. Staff are very friendly, and I like that the place is clean (I hope they keep this up). Since it's staffed by two people, don't expect to be in and out with your food in a minute. I have no complaints and can see myself coming here regularly for lunch (I'm Asian and love my rice after all). My only suggestion: aside from word of mouth being a good way to promote their business (and yelp of course), it's the smell of tasty meat that draws me to wrap places, eg. World wide wrap in Gastown, and Babylon in downtown. If Einstein Wrap House can somehow make the aroma of tastiness float through the open door, I'm sure they will have long line ups.

    Lamb Platter for under $10
    Dick L.

Large servings, delicious food, and under $10! This is a bright little restaurant that caters to those on the go (ie. lunch takeout, before/after a concert or game). It is a family-run business, and you are always greeted by one of it's owners when entering the shop. Many of the patrons I've seen here are regulars who all love this place. Alex (the owner) is always personable, friendly with his customers, and is genuine. The dining area is limited to stools with counters lined up against the front window and the wall; there are no tables/chairs. I love the food here. Chicken shawarma, lamb shawarma, donairs, falafel, I've had it all. Always juicy and flavourful. And Alex always makes sure there is plenty of food on every plate he serves. With meals like this, who needs McDonalds or any of the other fast food places around here anyways?

Veggie wrap full of goodness...homemade and very fresh

Veggie lover's haven...Had the super tasty veggie wrap with hummus and all the trimmings! All sauces are home made and the owner is incredibly nice. Great value and portion. I can't speak for the meat or falafels but it's rare to get different types of veg, hummus, yogurt, potatoes, rice and delicious and healthy sauces without getting fried falafels. I felt great supporting this family run restaurant. The owner was not only patient with my questions, he was extra kind to what looked like a homeless customer who came in, taking care to ensure he got everything he needed. I didn't expect such a nice experience esp. from shawarma place -- they definitely have a repeat customer!

Cheap, good portions and healthy within reason. I've eaten here a few times before a show at Rogers Arena. Good customer service.

Definitely try to go at opening or when it is not busy, as the dine-in experience is memorable - they place your order in a long wooden board to make it a beautiful spread. We got the Manoush'eh Special which has ground beef, pomegranate, etc and Sham Style which is shaped like a boat. We also tried the yogurt drink which pairs well with the dishes. The only con is that this place does not have free water, but it is no problem to have our own water bottles supplementing the meal. We also got the lentil soup which is pretty good. Definitely sufficient to share one to try, but the Manoush'eh outshines the rest of the items. I loved the quality and texture of the Manoush'eh and just the breads in general. It is a lot of food for 2 people so if you want a snack, you can definitely just share 1. Some people go here for the wraps too. Overall, an affordable restaurant with good food. We got the most expensive items and it was less than 50 CAD all-in, but a lot of the items are around the 10 CAD mark.

My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner and we were delighted. We ordered the Chefs Special Sampler for 2 - basically giving us a sampler of everything on the menu for $90 per person. We were really really full and couldn't finish it all. Highlights: - Chickpea Fetteh: warm delightful mixture of ground meat, chickpea sauce, with soaked pita at the bottom and crispy stuff in it. It just explodes with flavour and texture. - dip sampler: the hummus and eggplant mutabbah were really good but that pocket pita bread was out of this world good. Even the tabbouleh was good and my wife normally hates that. - the lamb tartare was AMAZING. It was kneaded so soft that it was practically a paste. When you combine it with the nuts and red spicy sauce and eat it with bread the combo is winning. - grilled Kibbeh and regular kibbeh - both really delightful - the grilled meat plate was great. In particular the chicken with the garlic tahini was really flavourful. The kabob mushrooms and peppers on top of smoked baba ganoush was soo good. Loved the smoke flavour. They finished by serving us baklava sampler which was all really good. From start to finish this is an experience for the ages.

The interior of the restaurant was also very nicely decorated. I do think Saba Foods is fancier than other places I've been to while exploring new cuisines and I personally prefer a more casual dining experience. As for the food, the portion sizes were very generous (though I did see other diners ordering individually). I shared the haneeth and saltah with a friend as well as got the kunafa and bint al sahen for dessert. The lamb was very tender and fell off the bone and the saltah came in a bubbling pot. I think the presentation of each dish was beautiful and was representative of its quality. My favourite dish was definitely the haneeth; it had a good combination of meat, rice, and vegetables. My reason for the missing star would be price point (total came around to $55 per person) as well as flavour as I'm used to having very flavorful dishes from other cuisines. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who hasn't tried Yemeni food before though!

Service was one person and two cooks, so it's not immediate, but it's all made fresh and you can taste it. My Russian friend advised me on what to get, so we went with Khinkali and Khachapuri (sans meat). We also got what is on the menu as "jingle bread" and a beef kabob wrap. I had to get some kvass and pickles, too. I would get the dumplings, wrap, and kvass again in a second. Not that everything wasn't delicious, but my stomach is only so big and I need to try everything else on the menu. Khinkali is effectively a gigantic soup dumpling (HIGHLY recommend, but don't eat the stem!), and the meat in the beef kabob was similarly spiced. I fell in love with the lavash bread - it wasn't like anything I'd ever had. It was light, flaky, and I didn't feel overloaded with bread eating it like I do with most wraps. Kvass is slightly alcoholic, and it's technically a cereal based fermented drink, so it tastes a carby. It's a bit far for me to go with any regularity, but if I'm up around the airport, I will definitely keep it on my list of places to recommend and re-visit.
