The Steak Picado & Eggs is very misleading. It's legit pieces of meat with eggs together, it does not contain tomatoes, onions, or bell peppers which is what a steak picado is. I gave it a 2 stars because the beans and sauce were good but that's it no flavor on the main entree. read more

Had a nice visit to El Amigo for an early lunch. I should disclose that I was a cashier here- about forty years ago. This was an unplanned stop and a nice stroll through nostalgia-ville. The cashier was courteous and helpful. Sat on the patio, and was pleased by the flowers which helped insulate the view from the street. The food will never be as good as my memories (I ate here at least 50 times back then) but it was great on its own merit. We had huevos rancheros- loved the ranchera sauce- and a taco/enchilada combo. Both my daughter and I left El Amigo pleasantly stuffed. read more

I really like this place is drive through, super convenient, staff are friendly but the main reason is the food is absolutely delicious. Their carnitas and chicken tacos are great. And their entrees are big with real salsa none of the crappie diluted salsa you find in many Mexican restaurants. They are the real deal. read more

We came by this place on our way home from karate. Going up to the speaker to place our order. I had to repeat my order twice then yell at the speaker because the girl kept yelling back "WHAT?" Then pulled up to the window and she gave us our total. My husband asked to repeat it and she just handed him the receipt. She had a real bad attitude, like eye rolling and all. I've been eating here since the late 80s. I remember the original owner, and he sold it to a Chinese gentleman, after that his son ran it. They all kept the same great flavors going! In recent years whoever owns it has changed most of the Best stuff going. The good chunky chili Colorado is gone; they change the enchilada sauce to more of a gravy (not an improvement). Also, they have changed their salsas, not for the better in my opinion. Even the tortillas are different and have a funny flavor. Still decent food, but not what it used to be. read more

Absolutely delicious, we ordered the carne asada plate, bean and cheese burrito, and shredded beef burrito. Everything was super good, we've been coming here for 20+ years and the food is as it always has been, consistently on point. The burritos were cheap and huge. The shredded beef one was filled with big chunks of delicious shredded chuck beef and it was very tasty. Understaffed is an understatement. Ordering ahead should have been helpful - both for the staff and the consumer. We called three times before speaking to a worker. The first two calls were ended when they hung up on us. I can only guess that they were too busy to take the order. Finally we placed an order and were told "see you in a bit." A bit? Is that 10 minutes? 20? Half a hour? One last observation..... who doesn't give salsa with Mexican food? Ummmm that will be fifty cents please. I ordered nachos. I really like their food, always hot and delicious, except for their enchiladas. But, I came in the other day, they weren't very busy, and waited 20 minutes for my food. I had to go to the counter and ask if my combo was ready. The lady looked at me as if I had already got it and was trying to get another one. Had been going by this fast food place for years and finally decided to try it. The food was very tasty and fresh and portions were large. The green chile pork burrito was really good with just right spicy. The breakfast burrito was also very good and the chips served with it were like nachos. The indoor dining is limited but has a nice patio for nice weather. The manager and staff are also friendly and welcoming and go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. Definitely recommend. Please try this place everyone is great and welcoming and food is definitely and priced reasonably. Ordered from this place cause they had a deal on Uber Eats. I was skeptical because of their name. I feel like the most generic titles of restaurants usually reflect that in the food and my theory proved right with "The Friend" I was craving fresh guacamole at the time and figured they would do it right, so I got that, a carne asada and a carnitas burrito. I was majorly disappointed when I opened the guacamole lid to reveal it was actually avocado sauce. Which not only looked really sad in a big container, but was also watery and bland. At first I couldn't tell the difference between the carnitas and carne asada. Which isn't a good sign. But the second bite and rest of the of carne asada burrito was so chewy it was like trying to eat a sneaker. The carnitas was a little better cooked but left a lot to be desired. I don't want to hate on this place, but it was a disappointing meal and I definitely didn't impress my date. Serves me right trying to save a few bucks with a coupon I guess. read more

My family recently celebrated my Mom's 92 birthday and had El Amigo provide all the food for it. Everyone absolutely loved it!!! The food was delicious! As the person who had to coordinate the party, I can tell you how happy and pleased I was at the pricing, amount of food, and variety of food they provided. The staff was very professional and had everything ready hot and on time when I needed to pick it up. Almost everything I've tried is delicious I really enjoy the beef taquitos you won't be disappointed

At $5.25 a soft taco I can't support this place anymore. The prices have gotten out of control for food. Granted the food is good and it's quality, they give the most meat on their tacos around but for shredded beef tacos this price is way out of line compared to so many others. I have lived in Glendora my whole life and have supported this place for so many years and have referred people here but no longer can I do that. They don't even wrap the tacos individually like they used to, they try to make it cheaper and charge more. Just looked at the menu and the price is $4.25 a taco. They don't even honor their posted prices. I understand inflation but this is way out of line. Especially when they used to charge $2.99 a taco. The girl tried to tell me the price was a $1.00 more per taco because we ordered cheese on our tacos. Cheese comes on the crunchy taco so that makes no sense. The cook did bring us some free nachos because we complained about the price but come on man. We should have been charged correctly the first time. read more

WOW!!! Holy cow this place is awesome. We took a chance and stopped by on our way home and I'm so happy we did!! I ordered the steak rice bowl with steak(obviously), rice, cheese, lettuce, beans, guacamole and sour cream with a Jamaica to drink. My husband ordered a bean and cheese burrito with a side of rice. My rice bowl was amazingly good!!! This guacamole is one of the bests I've had. My Jamaica was so dang good. Their rice is fresh and their tortillas tastes so fresh as well! I've passed this place off how many times, and for whatever reasons I was convinced it wasn't the place for me. One day out of the blue my hubby wanted wiener schnitzel and I was like eh I guess I'll try this place since I didn't want hot dogs. I am so happy I did. First off, the customer service was very welcoming. The girl at the window was so sweet and chatty, loved her attitude and if she was having a bad day you would never know it. She complimented me on my driving skills cuz I was one of the few that was able to pull in close enough to the drive thru window because it sits on the passenger side rather than the driver side. I think that's why I didn't want to try it, because of the layout. Lol anyway, I tried the carnitas nachos, wanted to do something simple, because if a place can't get the simplest order correct I don't go back. Well I've been back several times after and will be going back to try more stuff off their menu. Omg I have to say the nachos were delicious. The carnitas had so much flavor, the cheese they used was bomb, and I loved the fact that they separated the guacamole and sour cream so that the nachos don't get soggy. I've also tried their crunchy beef taco and again I was not disappointed. Very very tasty food. My new go to place for sure. Totally recommend it. read more

I'll always have a place for El Amigo in my heart because my mom used to bring their food home from work for my brother and me when I was a kid. She'd always get me their chicken flautas, and she'd get herself and my brother the machaca wet burrito. The chicken flautas are my favorite things from El Amigo! They're best eaten fresh, and I love their creamy avocado sauce with topped with some white and orange cheese. The rice and beans are okay, but I'd rather have it than not have it at all. The machaca wet burrito is also good if you're really hungry because it's quite a bit of food. It's a beef burrito full of shredded beef, pico de gallo and scrambled eggs, and it's topped with red sauce and melted cheese. On top of everything, I always put their house red sauce. It's not too hot, but it compliments the food well. Now, I'll admit their food isn't authentic Mexican food, but it definitely hits the spot every time I have the opportunity to get it. I definitely recommend El Amigo to someone looking for a fast Mexican food spot in the Glendora area! read more

I was surprised to find that it seems like it's back to what it used to be. I had the flautas plate and some carnitas fries.
