I love authentic Mexican & looking at the menu... that it was. Torta was a 1/2 French Bread's worth of sandwich! I got a beef & chicken with cheese onions & cilantro! She offered avocado, tomato, mayo. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came with green & red sauce no matter how I protested anything else. Delicioso! Yes, that's a large to-go container.

Where do I start?... It's been such a long time since I've eaten at El Atoron. It used to be my go to for all of my favorite authentic Mexican street foods. That is until they were forced to relocate from Henderson Street due to gentrification. Luckily, I was in the area after leaving a local farmer's market when I looked up "tacos near me" and El Atoron showed on my list. I immediately got excited and knew we had to go there. After placing our order, our food was ready w/in 10 minutes. Their food & sauces are absolutely delicious and full of so much flavor. So much that we ended up ordering food to-go to have for dinner. Also, the people & service was just as amazing as I remember it being. They are so welcoming, almost making you feel like family. And I'm not sure if the woman who took the order is the owner, but I remembered her from the old location and she remembered me. When you have customers that visit you at your not so new location, that tells you something. The decor, photos, and artwork also gives you a peek into what it's like to step foot in Mexico City. I love it. Just know this is a very small location so expect to get lucky if you're able to dine in. I'd say it holds 16 people comfortably, but it's what is expected when you go to a taqueria. Thank you, El Atoron! We can't wait to return.

Great tasting food. Small dining area so it's probably best to get your order to go. Tried the huitlacoche and it truly was delicious. Never knew that I would find fungus corn delicious.

Always fantastic service and the tortas are the biggest I have found. The bread is perfect and they stuff it with ingredients.

Everything we had was hot, fresh, and delicious. Some of the best homemade food I've had. Would definitely like to go back soon.

I have been a little hesitant in coming here a lot of my family members have had mixed experiences. My brother took a bite from his beef huarache and pulled out a long hair from his mouth, after the employees examined the plate for 20 minutes they decided that they would not charge him and that's it. No "im sorry for the inconvenience" My father visited here and usually they call out names for you to go get your plate. Two Caucasian males walked in ordered after my father and the lady at the counter grabbed their plates and set them nicely on their table with their drinks which you are supposed to get your self from the cooler. Then they screamed out my father's name for him to pick up his plate well let's just say he did not feel like going up there,he felt it was same race discrimination . . . In the summer my mom went she said the AC did not work and it was just terrible customer service. So I have been hesitant on going there but after getting off of work late I decided to give it a try I ordered the Al Pastor Quesadilla and it was delicious. I did not expect any service I ordered, paid, picked up my plate and ate and then left. My review is based solely on the food. I really enjoyed both their green and red salsa, spicy just the way I like it

Hands down the best tortas in town I have yet to have a bad one el Atoron is slowly becoming my new weekly habit always get a few tacos and a torta to have for the next day still good. Friendly bilingual crew working restaurant is always clean and there is usually some form of sports on the tv. So glad my friend brought me here.

Sopes were A+ :) I always order a chicken quesadilla with mushrooms. These are huge not like the tex-mex quesadillas lol. The sopes are really good and have fresh cheese and sour cream.

I absolutely love there fajita de res huaraches it has just the right amt of beans, cheese, and lettuce Also they have red salsa which is super spicy just as it should be! I also got a chorizo quesadilla that sucker was huge and also delicious! If you want authentic one of a kind Mexico City style food this is your place!

Yummm! Nom nom! Everything they make is delicious and made with fresh ingredients! Small sitting area. Order at counter. Love the suadero tacos and Huitlacoche quesadilla

Torta, quesadilla, and gordita. Look at the size of the torta!

I'll start it out by saying the parking lot is horrible where Al Atoron is located! The inside reminds me of a travel agency with a giant photo of Mexico City on the wall. They have tacos, Tortas, quesadillas, sopas, gorditas, and a few other items. We ordered the torta, which was HUGE! It was the size of the plate and loaded with meat! We also ordered a quesadilla (which isn't your normal cheese and tortilla) and a Gordita. The quesadilla reminded me of a giant taco, and was pretty filling. Everything tasted pretty authentic, but the meats to me tasted the same. I couldn't distinguish which was the chorizo and which was the al pastor.

LOVE this place. God bless the people who came up with Las Palmas…read more First of all, please never change the queso- it is heaven sent and we always take it to-go (I'm NEVER leaving the rest behind) and it tastes even better the next day. This queso is probably the best I've ever had. BTW it is a LIL spicy but I can let that slide. Another great appetizer option would be the Nachos Al Carbon with wagyu. Super good too & honestly you can even order it for just one person as a main dish-- the serving size is big enough. BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE SHOW AT LAS PALMAS ARE THE WAGYU FAJITAS!!! Incredible. Comes with flour or corn tortillas, beans, rice, and obviously the works: sour cream, guacamole, lettuce. You know the vibes. Speaking of vibes, they're always there at Las Palmas. It is always busy but I genuinely don't care and never mind waiting an hour and a half for our table. It's worth it. This place is a confirmed staple in Dallas. Probably come here once a month if not more often. Thank you for great food and good service too- that's hard to come by nowadays. TRY THIS PLACE OUT! This is your sign!

The decor is absolutely magnificent, adorned with a curated collection of cowboy hats and photographs that beautifully capture the true, authentic spirit of Dallas. It has such character! I initially settled in at the intimate little bar, where the bartender greeted me with wonderful hospitality. To begin, I ordered a Spicy Mezcal Margarita an exceptionally flavorful choice that was executed flawlessly. After a lovely, brief chat with the bartender, the sun began to break through the clouds, warming up the day beautifully. Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.
