Was well impressed with the food and price here if you are looking for a nice quiet place to have an enjoyable sushi experience this is one to go to , ...my only concern was the card machine as it was having a hard time with processing payment so I ended up paying with cash , though that is not the workers fault most likely outdated pos systems , but as for the server he was a very nice young man who helped me out with all my requests, you really can't beat the price and experience for what it was , if you have some time and you're feeling like sushi and some piece this would be my go to spot ... Miso soup is $1.50. The sushi rolls are between $6-$13! The crunchy roll is good, the kiss of fire and rainbow roll aren't as spicey and don't have as much sauce. The teriyaki bowl is yummy, good for kids. read more

Not sure what the other reviewers were expecting here, but I want to say that if you go into a mom and pop sushi shop like this I wasn't looking for the finest dining. I'm just looking for a quick meal to hit that sushi craving. This place was perfect for that purpose. I came by on a Saturday afternoon around 1:50pm w my fiancé, we both ordered bento 2 item combos and the Alaska roll - the bentos come with miso soup and a ginger sauce salad and you can pick 2 items. He got the spicy tuna and Mexican roll for his two items and I got the teriyaki chicken and mixed sushi. We shared and both really enjoyed our meal. We felt like we had ordered the perfect amount of food. And for the price it was really great for what it was! The fish was fresh. We left satisfied and would definitely come back. Service was good too, there was 2 other parties in the restaurant at the time. So not too busy. As for the ambiance it was pretty typical of what you'd expect at a small sushi spot. Oh but the restrooms when I first entered it was pretty gnarly there was a piece of poop unflushed but that's not the businesses fault, I didn't make a big deal out of it I just flushed it. But yeah they could go in and check the status of the toilet once a bit more so that guests don't get an unexpected surprise like I did! Lol that's all!! Would come again. Nice!! read more

Poor customer service. Not friendly. Sat and waited 10 mins for a menu. Then another 10 to order. Never got my beverage. Waited 20 min to get my udon. The tempura that comes WITH the udon didn't arrive with the soup. When you're on a lunch break and there's only one other table seated, this is way too long to wait. I left. Went to my usual place Nextdoor and was in and out in 40 mins. Very disappointed as it was a cold day and tempura udon sounded so good. read more

Food sucks, service sucks, ambiance is ok. We ordered white dragon roll, in the menu picture it looks like dragon shape with eyes. When it came it was just california roll with a disgusting amount of cream cheese on top. No water, only bottle water even though the server said "its only a dollar." Sodas are not refillable as well. Baked salmon roll very overbaked, lots of the cheese sticking to the aluminum foil. Giving this place a try, and sucks. Not coming back. Server not that good too. Im sorry but this sushi was terrible and inedible. The shrimp tempura in the roll not only looked oddly over battered and old it was sooo extremely fishy. Fresh & properly stored fish does not taste fishy. We could not and did not want to eat it. The scallop roll was also fishy. The unagi roll was so excessively over sauced. After the ultra questionable fishiness of the first 2 rolls, I did not feel confident in the last one. I don't know if the fish is just really old or their refrigerator isn't cool enough. I only came here long time ago. It's been a while. We ordered several dishes on a Tuesday night. There's only one other family there as customers. Service was so slow. I don't get it. What if there's a lot of customers coming in at once the server wouldn't be able to handle the busyness. Besides serving us food, the lady never did once to check on us if we are okay with our food or if we need anything else. Place is very outdated and very dead. Honestly I don't know how they can survive this long. Food! Alaskan salmon was so delicious. The salmon was fatty and melt in my mouth. Salmon roll (maki) was meh. Nemo was good. We also ordered edamame, it was okay, we were hungry so I needed something right away. I forgot to take picture of the udon. But the udon was so so. The broth was very bland. I gave 4 stars because of that Alaskan Salmon roll was just so good. I was looking for a sushi place as I was driving home. I only wanted California rolls. Super easy. Super simple. Nothing fancy. Found this place. It wasn't busy at all. In fact the restaurant was empty. No in-restaurant dining allowed, take out only. The chef came out to take my order. 2 orders of California roll and a green dragon roll (it's a California roll topped with avocado). I asked for no sesame, no ginger and no wasabe - major food allergies! So I'm watching the news on the TV in the dining area for about 10 minutes when they asked if I DID NOT WANT ginger, Wasabi or sesame seeds... Well, apparantly he forgot that I requested no to all of the above because he had to remake everything I ordered. So I sat back down and watched more of the news for another 10 minutes till my order was ready. When I got home, my California rolls were just okay (a bit on the tasteless side, a little too much mayo, barely a sliver of cucumber or avocado... I couldn't even taste it on some of the pieces) and there was ginger and Wasabi inside my containers... I'm highly allergic that's why I requested NO to all of those. I couldn't eat the rolls that touched any of the ginger or Wasabi (so I only got to eat about 3 pieces of the green dragon roll). I'm very firm when I tell restaurants that I have a highly allergic food allergy to specific foods and I repeat it about 3 times to make sure they get my order right. Oh well. It would've been better and enjoyed the food experience more if my orders were done correctly. Hence the 3 stars. read more

I've been coming here for sushi for many years now. It's one of the best places for sushi in the area and I've never had a bad experience with any of the food. They have a great selection of rolls on the menu as well. I do have to say the only downside of the restaurant is the service. It takes forever to get your order for both dining in and pickup, even if it's just one roll. Even calling in ahead of time for pickup, I always expect to wait another 10-20 minutes extra. The worst customer service the second we walked into this empty place. They didn't take our order until 15 minutes later, the lady was extremely rude! Worst experience ever! I had gone in to order Two Alaska Rolls, yellowtail roll, and EDAMAME. The rolls were okay; the yellowtail was a bit gamy, but the edamame had a maggot in it!!!!! I had brought it up to the server lady and she was VERY dismissive and started to get defensive. I was very nice about it at first but she started to get defensive and started making excuses. Mind you, no apology. When she started saying it wasn't her fault and that all they do is boil the edamame and they don't look through all the pods I started to feel sick. I told her that didn't want to pay for the meal bc of how grossed out it was. But we went back and forth so I told her I just won't pay for the edamame ONLY. she said they couldn't do that bc I ate most of the bowl. I told her that's exactly why I won't pay for it. I didn't see the MAGGOT until I reached the bottom. She kept getting defensive. And still at this point no apology or solution or compensation. She eventually said yes to not charging me for the edamame's. She then started to say , in a very condescending way, "just don't order it anymore for next time". THERE WONT BE A NEXT TIME. The place was empty when I arrived and I was the only customer for about 45 minutes until 2 other customers arrived. Based on other reviews, I will agree that it does take awhile for them to bring out your food ~20-25 minutes which worried me because I had to leave for work by 4:00PM. 2.5-3 stars Have worked in the area for quite awhile but have never dined at Sake Sushi until lunch today. I've been to a majority of the restaurants nearby, such as Baby Elephant, MJ's, Jasper Cafe, Starbucks, Coffee Break, Wingstop, Yoshinoya, Jack in the Box, and etc. One of the reasons is that I've mostly cut sashimi out of my diet, better to be safe than sorry. Lest I digress... Came here today with a few coworkers for lunch and I ordered a bento combination with 3 items. 3 item combo with $1 extra charge for tempura $8.99+$1 Chicken Cutlet, Cana Roll, and Tempura I guess people come here because the food is affordable, because the tables and booths have seen better days. I do hope, however, that being affordable does not mean a cut in quality especially when it comes to raw fish. They do offer an extensive menu of sushi rolls, along with other items. The color of my tempura was awfully brown, not over fried brown, but the brown where you know it's not fresh, clean oil being used. That's an huge indication that they reuse their oil for deep frying. The chicken cutlet was good, rather small, but decent. The salad seemed to have been soaked with a vinegar or the dressing overnight because all the greens were clear. Not fresh at all. The Cana Roll actually was the best out of the meal but I kept wondering if I was paying for it, or the other items, later in the day with a bit of stomach discomfort. There was only 1 other occupied table around 11:40 am but the food was still pretty slow to come out. There were a few to-go orders but other than that, the restaurant was empty, besides us, around 12:30 pm. I did like how considerate the server was and split the check for the 3 of us, without us requesting it at all. Overall, I would return if others are coming to dine here but it would not be a suggestion from me. The location is ideal for students in the area along with businesses down the street. read more

Just not the best or even so so. The sushi rice was a bit mushy and the albacore was slimy. How can you get sushi rice wrong, this place did. Their bento is served on a plate, somehow just takes away the whole bento experience eating Japanese food, it felt like eating Chinese food in a Japanese restaurant. The server greets you but doesn't give a damn to smile. Udon soup are usually pretty straight forward but this one just didn't deliver either. The teriyaki sauce was so runny and watery, felt like they watered it down to save some money. I had the regular and the tempura udon, The broth tasted so blahhh. I've been coming to this place for years. Their sushi is great for the price but the wait time has gotten worse recently. Every time I've ordered to go, they would tell me it'll be ready between 20-30 mins. When I get there, I end up waiting an additional 20-30 mins. I've always enjoyed this place but lately I haven't been appreciating the wrong wait times given. I don't mind waiting but if it's going to take and hour just tell me! That way I don't have to waste my time. I don't doubt that I'll come here again but I will be coming less than I used to. Decided to drop by to this place since one of the nearby places was closed and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Starting off, the service was very very poor. Waitress looked like she despised us for being there even though my party was the only ones there at the time. The food took around 40 minutes to arrive and when it arrived, and while some were okay, some tasted like they were not fresh at all. The biggest spit in the face in my eyes was finding out they charge for water. Immediately began changing our views of the place after and lowered my opinions of the place drastically. Walked in on a Friday night and was seated immediately. The place didn't seem that busy at all. My party of 2 ordered 2 waters and a few items off the sushi menu rather quickly--tuna roll, salmon roll, unagi, crunch roll. Then 3 more parties walk in. 10 minutes pass. Here comes the water. The other 3 parties aren't being tended to. The two dudes making the sushi don't seem to be in a hurry at all based on what looks like them chatting off to the side. Another 10 minutes pass and I check back on our order. "Kitchen's a bit backed up. It'll be another 15 minutes." We say "ok?" Waiter walks away. So do we. Hope they notice. read more
