After often passing the newest iteration of the mini drive-through on Kolb just north of 22nd, I finally stopped in. This little place has been several different Mexican food places, including Poco and Mom's; then it was a coffee house for a quick minute. Now it is Mexican again. Tucson is blessed with independently-owned burrito shops, and I do enjoy them. Brunch Bistro's extensive menu includes all kinds of breakfast and other burros, tortas, tostados, enchiladas, chimis, quesadillas, and more. I chose the carne asada burro; it comes with pico and guacamole. The meat was very tasty and plentiful and the pico added a fresh and delicious element. I didn't find any guac, though, but didn't really miss it. The burro cost $10.59 and it became my breakfast and lunch; so a good deal. I had to wait about five minutes to receive a piping hot just-made-to-order feast. I'm definitely going back. read more

I've swung by this place four times on lunch and have enjoyed every food item I've received. The burritos are always a hit and very affordable. Today I decided to order online since my lunch break is short, but BE AWARE there's hidden fees on the online ordering platform. When you go to order, it shows tax and tip section with your total, but when you actually charge your card, it adds an additional service fee that it didn't show on the first receipt. I tried to explain this to the restaurant and they didn't understand. The lack of pricing transparency online is frustrating so I would highly recommend not ordering online unless you want to be charged two more dollars for a pick up order. read more

Heading South on Kolb one Tucson morning on my way from one place to someplace, I was in the fast lane, about to move into the left-turn lane at 22nd, but I saw the "El Brunch Bistro" sign, so instead I veered right, across a couple lanes (safely, no cutoffs. Of course, blinker on!) and into the drive-thru for my first visit. The Chilaquiles Rancheros ($11.99) called to me, so I ordered them from the friendly voice in the speaker. I opted for over medium eggs and both red and green sauces. The window service was prompt and courteous. I was where I had been heading to in the fist place 5 minutes later, food still hot. Eggs were perfectly medium, still, the chips had good texture, and the sauces were flavorful. The portion to price was smaller than expected, but I'm still ok with it. I will definitely go back and dine-in another time, it it's nice to know the to-go option is there. read more

My husband and I were loyal customers to the nearby El Coronado fast food restaurant across the street for 2 years. However their food and service have declined in a massive way (microwaving all orders IN the styrofoam!). Thankfully El Brunch Bistro opened across the way! Their service is top notch they're so friendly every time we have gone. Where else can you get a genuine "Good Morning" at the drive thru window besides Dutch Bros? HERE. Their super nachos are the best we've ever had. My brother recommended them after I told him about our experience with Coronado and he said "Brunch Bistro has the best chorizo burrito he's ever had". Well, we COMPLETELY AGREE! Everything we've had from here has been excellent. Highly recommend El Brunch Bistro! read more

I ordered a guacamole tostada. I've had them there before many times. It's nothing to write home about but at least you could tell it was mashed avocado. The guacamole tostada I got today was nothing but green slime. It soaked the tostada into mush. Completely inedible. They refused to give me my money back. read more

My wife and I came in on a Saturday morning, and were the only customers. Staff were very friendly, and the food came out within minutes. I had the chorizo plate, and it was really killer. Frank's has my favorite chorizo in town, and this was comparable, with a really flavorful hot salsa. My wife had the bean tostada and cheese enchilada combo, which she really enjoyed as well. As nice as it was not having to wait, I hope business picks up so that this place sticks around. We will definitely be back soon. read more

I once loved there fish tacos but had been disappointed in the past so I stopped going but thought I would give them another try today. I was again NOT happy. ...NO BUENO!!!!! the fish was so battered and dry that the fish was almost missing and the batter was so fried it was like cardboard. Went here for lunch recently. Food was very good. Had a pollo asado burro and a machaca burro. You order at the counter and they bring your order to you. Got a small bowl of chips and some very good salsa. A nice touch using authentic Mexican cheese in the burro. Prices were reasonable. We got out for under $30 and that included 2 horchatas. read more

I was excited to try this place and just haven't gotten a chance until recently. Overall, very disappointing. The two positives were that it was very clean and had a great atmosphere. The other positive was that the young lady at the front counter could not have been any nicer. The low score is strictly for the food. I ordered the Chili Quiles based on her recommendations. We will start with the tortillas, the oil they were fried and tasted old, and as you can see, they weren't cooked in the sauce, the sauce was just poured on top. I'm assuming they're using the old chips because they were rockhard. The two different sauces were obviously canned and not fresh, they weren't bad. The Carne Asada on top was cut into perfectlysized cubes, telling me that it came that way and wasn't cooked fresh. refried beans were also obviously canned and not fresh and I would question their age because they were really strange, drywall spackle, like consistency. In a town full of amazing Southwest and Mexican cuisine, you guys have to do better. Get rid of 80% of your very extensive menu and do a handful of things exceptionally well. read more

Amazing food and service. I get the crunchy tacos plate every times the rice and salsa with chips is made fresh maybe an hour earlier at the latest. This is a family place please support it they have enchiladas that my wife loves too but I am not a fan of overly gooey ones but they are tasty texture aside. Prices are very reasonable. I've had 4 entrees from here, and they were all excellent. Chicken and Beef Enchiladas, a Cuban burro, and a Machaca Plate, which was the best I've had here in Tucson. The people are really friendly, food service is rapid (not too fast!). I drove by here many times reading the 'El Brunch Bistro' sign, thinking it was another ham-and-egg breakfast joint (I didn't see the 'Mexican Restaurant' part of the sign), but was glad I stopped in. Wow I tell you ...wow!! This is some great and authentic tasting food. I ordered a breakfast burrito the 2nd time and the menudo the 1st. The menudo was almost the best that I've had in recent years. Only Nico's near See's candy was better...slightly better. The breakfast burrito was awesome...huge and tastey! The people who work there are very freindly and personable. They make you feel welcome and APPRECIATED. They truly seem to care about their restaurant. The place is small and cozy with outdoor seating even thought it was a chilly windy day the last time i was there. They had the outdoor music cranked up but not really my flavour of Latin music. Kolb and 22nd is a busy and noisy intersection. The inside was recovering from a busy morning with a pile of sweepings in the main dining area...for the first and second visits. No big deal though. There were plenty of seating options. I really like this place. My only fear is that they will go the way of Poco and Mom's....more popular then bigger and better then way pricier. Oh well, their success will be greatly earned. For now it's my favourite secret! read more

Guacamole tastes exactly like the stuff that you squeeze out of the packet when you buy the frozen taquitos at the grocery store. Meat is kind of dry. My husband got the chicken tacos and they were awful. We have only been there twice. read more

The food, service and ambiance are excellent! They were appropriately attentive and cared about how well we were enjoying our food. The food was delicious.
