So, this was a complete waste of time. I went inside to order. Everything I ordered, they didn't have. How could you be running a restaurant and not have what I wanted. I do not eat meat, so there were no other options. The girl at the counter was not friendly, didn't even apologize doe not having food in stock. I should have figured this was a terrible place, because there was no line, no bags on the counter waiting for pick up. We had tapias (spicy pork, spicy chicken, and the picado beef) and a burrito (pork al pastor). Portions were generous -- a big win for me -- and food quality and taste were very good. The one bummer: no beers on tap -- only bottles. Not a big deal to me, as I don't drink, but the beer drinker in our midst was mildly disappointed. Otherwise, we liked this place. The employees are slow I put red salsa on the grub hub app, I got green I called to mention my onions and habanero on the side and I had to repeat myself 5 times I mentioned to put a good amount of onions and didn't get what I asked for matter of fact they put less. The chicken and beef fajitas were tasty and flavorful. Both had a good amount of meat and vegetables seemingly prepared just right with all right seasonings giving it a top distinctive taste . The food had the perfect amount of wetness not dry at all. All the different flavors combined made the meal very tasty it was like out of Mom's kitchen. Came here for early dinner and tried the bowl with veggies, carnitas and steak picado. The bowl itself was pricy but because they charge you for every single thing such as extra veggies and how much guacamole was used. There was this female asking for every single thing placed on the bowl as if she was going to lose money on the transaction. She doesn't know how to act in front of customers, unprofessional in front of customers, felt bad for the kid that was being questioned while making the bowl. read more

I've been hearing good things about this place from my coworkers, so I finally decided to try it. My coworker and I ordered our bowls online. When we went to click on 'bowl' it tells you what's inside assuming it already had rice and beans on it because once you go to build your bowl you can only pick the meat and fresh toppings. Just to be safe we even put Spanish rice and beans in the comments. We get back to the office and come to find that our bowls don't even have any rice and beans. My coworker also paid extra for certain toppings and they didn't even put it in the bowl. Half way through eating it my stomach started to hurt. My coworker decided to call El Burro and let them know about what happened. The lady was defensive from the start, saying they don't run a business out of assumption. Then when my coworker explained that there was no option on the website and we even put it on the comments. Yet the lady kept giving attitude while yelling at someone else about what my coworker was saying. Then towards the end the lady yelled what do you want me to do come get your rice and beans... Decided to give this spot a try... since the place looks appealing. Walked in there and from the start the 2 girls working in there were rude!! They were getting mad when I asked them what kind of meats they had. That was the least of my experience. The girl decided to walk away because I asked her again what kind of meats they had... This place is very similar to Chipotle. There's a variety of meats, sauces, and toppings that you can get in tacos, a burrito, or bowl. I had the veggie bowl with black beans and rice. I also ordered a bag of chips and medium salsa. I liked the salsa. My aunt had a chicken burrito. It was stuffed to the max and began to fall apart. She liked the seasoned, tender chicken and preferred to have a busted burrito than one with barely anything on it. The place is small, but simple and clean. The review below about them mischarging is correct. I ordered a taco trio online which is 8.05 when I got rung up at the register they charged me for three Ala Carte tacos which is 8.19. They are cheating people. They also put my order together badly. I ordered three different sauces on my tacos however they put all three together in one foil package so all of the tacos ended up soggy and the same flavor because the thinner sauce seeps out and was absorbed by the other tacos. They should package each taco separately. The flavor of the cochinita pibil is delicious which is why they get two stars. read more

I can get over that really quick, since the food is good. I usually go for the bowl: scoop of spanish rice, scope of brown rice. I usually will pick from the Chicken, Steak Asada, or Barbacoa (all which are good / can't go wrong). I've been intrigued driving by this place for a while now and took the opportunity to give it a try on my way home from school. I had a visit prior to the one I am basing my review on but ending up leaving without trying the food. 1st Impression: The name is cute and the scribbled drawing of a donkey for a logo is even cuter! The menu is similar to that of Chipotle or FREEB!RDS (the one in Santa Barbara) in regards that it is simple and not overwhelming with tons of choices. The interior design of the place is definitely five stars! Food: I ordered 6 Tapias which were miniature tacos, something new and is not in the Chipotle or FREEB!RDS menu. I tried two of each calabacitas, champinones, and shrimp. I am not sure which is which between calabacitas or champinones but one was mushrooms, while the other was squash, cactus and tomatoes. The shrimp was salty, cold and not grilled at all! I was watching the cook hand them to my server and he was looked like he had a hard time separating individual pieces from one another. The mushrooms were good and so were the squash/cactus. I love that they put cactus! The tortilla that they used were a bit thick and quiet difficult to eat without all the stuffing spewing out! The green cilantro sauce I chose was bomb and compensated for saltiness or lack of flavor from the tacos. Service: The two girls on the floor were nice, they did their job. Interior: I definitely give this place five stars for its decor! Great job to whomever is responsible for the interior design. The place looks modern and aesthetically pleasing! The wooden tables are rustic with a single clear glass lamp hanging above each one. The place looked very clean and attractive! I was eager to see the bathroom since the lobby and serving bar looked great but it was a well kept and had no specific interior design. Upon walking inside I was very happy to see the decor and ambiance with large panels of windows around the main side of the perimeter and a large flat screen playing soccer. The set up is very similar to Chipotle. With the yelp add suggesting that it was only one $, I assumed that my girlfriend and I could get two bean and cheese burritos for under $10. They charged us 12.45 for two simple bean burritos (no meat) and a medium fountain drink. The burritos were half the size of chipotle. We then were charged an extra 50 cents for salsa when we should have gotten complimentary salsa with the chips we got. So when I asked to not be charged the 50 cents and just stick with complimentary, she still shoved it towards me. The man who gathered the burrito was eager to please, I believe his name is Norann. He was charismatic and cared about my experience being perfect so I would come back. The woman behind register, however made me wish I didn't spend my money on these small bean burritos and just go to a hole in the wall with same quality and 1/3 of the price. Overall, I think the food is over priced, the seating is rigid. There is only one large TV and a small one. The portion size is smaller than that of Chipotle. So why not just go somewhere else? Not worth my 12/13 dollars for a simple little bean cheese burrito. read more

One of my favorite places to eat lunch and way better than Chipotle. They have more of a variety of meats. Burritos, bowls, tacos you want they have. For those of you who aren't that hungry they have Tapias, 3 mini tacos. You choose the meats and the toppings. I love their fermented onions with lime and oregano or if you want a lil spicy go with the habanero onions. They have 6 different sauces to choose from. They also have white or brown rice, black or pinto beans and they are reasonably priced. They serve beer for dine in only. Try the barbacoa or the cochinito pibil. Yummy! Beware, if you're going for lunch you have to go before 11:45 am. It tends to get busy or just place am order online and then go pick it up and pay there. read more

This was the first time I've been and they asked if i wanted the burrito with veggies and i was like yea. Some people compare this place to Chipotle, but the reality is that they're not the same, other than serving Mexican food. El Burro has many meat options l, and you can mix them as well. I usually get a bowl with two potions of meat, depending on what they may have. There's anything from chuleta en Chile verde, to Chicken Tinga. Everything I've tried has been delicious. Their burritos are a very good size too (and delicious). If you're eating in, they have a beer selection for you to choose from. Don't forget to add a side order of their guacamole and chips. Went to try this place for the first time because reviews were decent and the pictures looked amazing ! First thing was the guy that was preparing our food behind the glass was not listening to our order at All I told him I wanted the bowl to be more lettuce than anything like a salad he said ok no problem and put one little sprinkle of lettuce. And when I asked for more he put an even smaller sprinkle and didn't listen to me for the rest of what I wanted. My boyfriend also had an unfriendly experience with the female employee. Never disappointed coming here! I love the chuleta en salsa verde for everything (bowl, tacos/tapias, burrito) i usually get a bowl, it's huge! With a side of tortilla chips. :) Barbacoa burrito is soo good too, but everything here is good! :) Their horchata and MICHELADAS are bomb! I used to love this place but unfortunately it's taken a sharp downturn. The first issue is really the customer service. They move soooo slow and do not have any sense of urgency or even appreciation that customers are waiting. The prices have gone up tremendously (significantly more than similar style restaurants). $9-10+ for a single burrito is outrageous. $5 for 2oz of guac is also ridiculous. And the food is so haphazardly put together these days. No love or attention like it used to have. I found a bone in my food the last time I was here and ended up throwing it away. It's just a bunch of mush now. I really hope they get back the heart they used to have at this restaurant ... especially for these prices. read more
