It's a Latin nightclub located in the heart of EaDo. I stopped by on a Friday evening around 11:30. A lot of clubs have a cover and a long line. This is not something I experienced here. No cover and no line. They do have bouncers checking your ID though and cops to pat you down. The club also looks great from the outside. Lots of neon lights will help you spot it from a mile away. Once you walk in, the experience isn't as great. I compare Mala Vide to Fabian's and Gloria's. Here, the dance floor is relatively small. Smaller than you would think. The DJ was playing mostly Latin music with some rap mixed in. I didn't know some of the songs since I'm a gringo but there were some I did like Bad Bunny. And they played Danza Kurduro which is one of my favorite jams! While the dance floor wasn't big, a lot of people were dancing. While they have booths you can reserve and bottle service, we just ordered at the bar. A couple of annoying things here. They will run your card every time, you can't keep your tab open. I've seen other bars do this in EaDo and I don't get it. And they also automatically add 20% gratuity. Which is also screwed up. I understand that they don't have a cover but policies like this will keep me from being eager to return.

I'm from Houston Texas, so I was visiting Atlanta and stopped in place. The customer service was amazing. Our hostess was very nice loved her. The drinks were good yet strong and the food was great as well. There were some items I personally did not like, but overall, I was very satisfied with the customer service and the food. On my recent trip to Houston!…read more When I was searching for dowtown bars and dancing, Behind Closed Doors popped up. It looked dark, clubbish, and fun (exactly what I was looking for) and I couldn't wait to come here. After a 25 minute Uber ride we were downtown and walking to our destination. At first we could not find it but thankfully a nice gentlemen showed us where it was. Upon walking in, darkness with these bright lights paved our way. We sat down at the bar, but realized dancing did not start until 10pm. The bartender came over and said to us "we have a speakasy behind door #3" we were like WHAT! Let's go. So, we walked down the dark hallway and pushed open door #3 (hence the name) to find this super cool speakeasy bar. Dim lights, really modern decor, comfy suede chairs and best of all, some really great cocktails. If you are ever in Downtown Houston, I highly recommend you coming here. I promise you will have the best time. We did not stay for dancing.

The original tab was also opened over an hour before my wedding ended (which included an open bar), the guest was my maid of honor and none of my guests were at the Black Swan at this point because why would anyone go pay for drinks when they can get them for free???? After trying to get this resolved the day after while I was still at the hotel, I was handed off to multiple other people, and then written off by Ms. Lawson. Even after I had proof that the guest wasn't the one who opened that tab, Ms. Lawson would not reply to multiple emails about this situation and effectively ghosted me. DO NOT come here unless you're paying in cash and ready to deal with this shady operation, it was a huge stain on the night having to deal with something that management roped me into.
