This place came highly recommended so I gave it a try for a weekday lunch and it did not disappoint. There is a big selection of items and the food was very good. I had the C11, sausage stuffed beef with sauce, rice, and black beans. They have lots of GF options. Definitely try the salsa provided in the side. The staff were great, the location is pretty standard for a stop mall restaurant. Free parking is available but there is not a lot of it.

Ordered picadillo....too salty and too much fat. Pap rellena good even though the same meat from Picadillo used at least it's well packed. They burned the fried plantains so I won't order that anymore.

A surprising gem for the neighborhood. A Cuban restaurant in a neighborhood that can seem a little "one-note." Service is friendly and food was good. The Ambiance reminds me of a neighborhood diner. If this place were hype or in a more robust food destination neighborhood, maybe it would've gotten a lower review, but for the neighborhood this place truly shines. I will be back to see what I've missed out on.

Found this spot after searching for a Cuban restaurant in the area of the convention center. Let me tell you, it's delicious! I ordered the picadillo and the flavor is amazing. The caldo gallego was soooo good! The service was excellent and the staff were all so friendly! Definitely coming back!

Great place for the family to experience cuban cuisine the old fashioned way. We enjoyed the special of the day, fish and I had the ox tail.

The restaurant is located in a very small strip mall and has very limited parking (perhaps 12-14 total parking spots). La Cienega is extremely busy so that you WILL see heavy traffic in the area. This was my first time trying Cuban food, so I was both excited and ready to try something new. Upon entering the restaurant, we were welcomed and seated immediately by two employees. The restaurant's decor looks and feels old and worn; there is seating for perhaps 20 to 30 guests at tables and booths, and the aroma of food fills the air. Employees were all business but extremely friendly and attentive during our entire visit. I ordered an Ensalada de Aquacate (avocado salad), which, when delivered to our table, left us waiting for the lettuce, only to be told by our waiter that my salad consisted only of avocado and onions. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this salad. For my entrée, I had the vegetarian Arroz, frijoles negros y plátanos fritos (rice, black beans, and fried sweet plantains). The black beans and rice were DELICIOUS!! The plantains were good but not my favorite, though others in my group absolutely loved theirs. My wife had the Versailles garlic chicken, which was delicious, perfectly prepared, and full of flavor. The endless buttered bread was the winner in my opinion. I could have eaten basket after basket of bread, but I limited myself to only three slices. Others in my group had the Lechon asado (Cuban-style roasted pork), which looked delicious, and my daughter had the potato balls. We had a positive and fun dining experience, though I do not feel it is worth driving the long distance from home (33 miles) to dine at this restaurant again unless invited by friends.

They've redone the interior and it has a nice clean look. The staff here were very attentive and nice. The food came out pretty quickly as well. We ordered the sampler as an appetizer. I loved the potato balls, they were my favorite. For my entree I ordered the Arroz con Pollo. Every bite was absolutely amazing, full of flavor! The chicken was falling off the bone it was so tender. The plantains were probably the best I've ever had. This restaurant is comfort food at its best!

This was my third time here and I had the 'El Dorado' - Sea Bass, which was fantastic. I live about 30 minutes away (...depending on 101 traffic....) and the food is easily worth the trip. Cafecito offers a very original take on a Cuban-Chicago style restaurant with a dash of California style. My wife had the Milenasa pressed sandwich which was made to perfection. Be aware of the cooler with the assorted pieces of dessert... it gets me everytime... I tried the Tres Leches and ended up eating the whole thing.. During our visit, there was a customer that came in with a 'to-go' order that she had placed and wasn't happy with it. She stormed in and interrupted two guests that were in the middle of placing an order at the counter. The manager stayed professional and kindly asked her to lower her voice and that he would address her once the couple finished placing their order. Once the couple left, the angry customer (gen z/young adult) started berating him about the meal and lack of customer service. The manager stayed calm and collective offered her a full refund as well as a re-cooked meal that she ordered earlier. However, this wasn't enough for her, she wanted blood. The manager kept composure, realized he was in a lose-lose situation, and calmly told her she needed to leave, which she complied. The manager was being rage baited and he handled it like a pro! This is a small 'mom and pop' shop pushing to make it in the tough climate of Calabasas. They are unique and treasure quality. This place is a true gem and I look forward to their growing ambitions!

I've tried almost everything on their menu and was never able to find something i ordered enjoyable. It's just not for me. When we were ready to close out, I asked the waiter as he was clearing some things on our table, if he could bring some to-go boxes when he had a moment for things we didn't finish so we could take them home.
