We had been on a tour earlier and we were super hungry when we arrived. There was a line at the hostess stand but we were seated as soon as we checked in with our reservations. We were seated outside on the patio which was a very nice pleasant area. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow but our waiter was very engaging when he could, it seems he had lots of tables and needed help. We were started with cocktails and the Burrata appetizer. I ordered the pan roasted salmon, Boo ordered the crispy rock cod and the sister had the Tuna Poke bowl. We all enjoyed our food but I think the Crispy Rock Cod was the tastiest!! with Truffled potato puree, leeks, spinach and lemon beurre blanc sauce. It was GOOD! Finally after returning from Barcelona we found a restaurant that prepared and serves the most delicious Seafood Paella. It took us about 5 years (last trip to Spain) and numerous visits to many SF Bay Area restaurants we found the best tasting of Spain here at El Dorado Kitchen. We had a reservation for a party of 11 for a friend's bday late Saturday morning. They seated us promptly even though we arrived late. The staff knew we were on a tight schedule because we had a couple of wineries to go to. They took our drink and food orders promptly. Overall, service was great! I got their soy latte and huevos rancheros with no sour cream. Their latte wasn't terrible. I was still sleepy after drinking the latte (usually I'm caffeine sensitive) so I assume that their coffees are on the lighter side. The huevos rancheros was a lot for one person! I could only eat half and wasn't able to take the rest. Definitely large portioned! Overall, great ambiance and food hit the spot. Wish the menu had a larger variety for breakfast options, but would like to come back during lunch and try something else on the menu. read more

Easy let me lay it out for you! - we came with a large family (with reservations) - ended up needing extra 2 chairs in an empty restaurant - they did not want to accommodate but decided that 'we should have known that their policy restricted it. - they (the two women in the front) proceeded to laugh and joke that the two guests will just have to sit on our laps instead - asked to talk to manager about accommodating and she gloated saying we have to pay extra 20% gratuity Let me ask yall, ever go to a restaurant reservation to get laughed at and treated like shit? No? Want that experience? Come here! Joel, as the owner of the business, you probably want to retrain your staff (Claudia) at how to talk to guests. Maybe you care, maybe you don't--but all I can say is that this is a WARNING for new guests and people who want to set a reservation. Food was decent. Server was AWESOME. Best brunch I've ever had! We had a reservation for Saturday at 10:30am. I highly recommend making a res because I noticed it getting pretty busy later in the afternoon. Service was great - they are so so friendly and made sure our dining experience was enjoyable. Food was also incredibly delicious. I tried their crab cake benedict and it also came with a side salad. I was sad to find that one of my eggs came back more of a giant hard-boiled egg while the other was a perfectly poached egg. That was the only downside of my food experience but everything else was great. Their garlic fries were the perfect crisp and flavor. Their iced latte was also DELICIOUS. Enjoyed, still another fabulous meal on the patio at Eldorado Kitchen on Friday night. We ate early (5:00) as we had friends' wine reception to attend. We started with drinks: a perfectly crafted dirty martini for me and a lovely glass of Hanzell Sebella Pinot for my husband. Our appetizers were an order of mussels and an order of shishito peppers. Both were so good! For entrees, my husband chose the pork chop. If there's a chop on the menu, he's going to order it! The one at Eldorado Kitchen is a favorite of his. I kept it light with a order of their awesome ceviche. Coffee after dinner was served in a very generously-sized personal pot. Duff was our waiter as he had been a couple months ago. Absolutely delightful! Everything was so tasty and came out speedy. Started off with the Caesar salad. It had a slightly bitter taste from the radicchio, which I didn't love but was still good. The French fries were perfect --not too crispy and paired nicely with the aioli and ketchup. But the real winner here is the Paella. It was just wow. Went for a lazy Sunday afternoon dinner sitting outside on the patio. Lovely breeze and plenty of room and privacy. Wait staff and hostess were super welcoming and friendly. Excellent service from all over. The food was delicious. A corn soup that was complex and reminded me of summers in the Midwest when corn is right off of the stalk. The pork belly with watermelon was succulent and layers in flavor. One person had the paella that was rich and crunchy and saucy with fresh abundant seafood one had the crispy cod which was over a creamy polenta and delicate sauces. One had a massive pork chop with myriad compliments beautify presented. I had a ceviche and a tomato salad for the main. Both really well seasoned and fresh. The tomatoes were really yummy. We shared French press coffee - in warmed mugs which was a nice touch - good coffee. Desserts we tried churros and molten cake with house made vanilla ice cream. Couldn't decide where to have lunch so we decided on going here. Unfortunately we did not have the experience we hoped for. The food was not worth the price point and that is less about size and more about lack of flavor. 6/10: Focaccia and Corn Bread Appetizer, the cornbread alone takes all 6 of these points as the focaccia was extremely dense and dry (felt like it was store bought or previously frozen) 2/10: Caesar Salad, Extremely bland and lacking a robustness in the dressing that I can usually taste in in a typical Caesar. The greens were too bitter and at this point I actually wanted to leave because I was already disappointed 9/10: Mussels Appetizer, this was actually really great and I enjoyed the smokiness in the sauce. The serving size is huge and definitely worth trying. I enjoyed the crostini provided as it paired really well with all of the elements of the dish 1/10: Crispy Shrimp Tacos, would not recommend. The tortilla fell apart right away, the spicy crema on the side does not match the flavor of the shrimp and the ratio of cabbage to shrimp is unappetizing. I would definitely recommend not having this item on the menu 2/10: EDK Burger, just a bunch of ice berg lettuce stacked on a stale brioche bun. The patty itself was okay, the only great thing about this burger were the pickles. Aside from this, the staff were attentive and really thoughtful. read more

This place is still amazing! We went to another anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. The beef carpaccio had the perfect balance of flavors and texture. The seafood paella is always a must. EDK is one of my favorite restaurants in town. Being local, it's definitely a go-to. Atmosphere is great. It's always hustling and bustling but not too loud that you can't enjoy a conversation at your table. Tonight we started with a carafe of Pinot and a couple of appetizers. I ordered the beet salad and my fiancé had the pork belly. The pork belly was so decadent. The beet salad was ok - it was a little arugula heavy (see pics) and a little light on the beets but it still was delicious. For dinner we had the beef short ribs and the filet. Both were so good. During my meal the restaurant appeared quite busy, but you never would've known based on the service. My server, Ulyses, was very attentive and took great care of me! The brunch menu offered some really great comfort food favorites - I ordered the chilaquiles, which brings me to another good area of our experience, the portion of our meal was huge. There was no skimping here - we finished our meal content. The menu also included a wide selection in cocktails and beer, as well as wine. It had been a few years since I dined at El Dorado. As a local you can get 'bored' with the same ole same ole stuff. Fast forward to now. And the El Dorado has a new Chef in its kitchen! One that updates its menu consistently and answers the wants of his customers! El Dorado is located on the Sonoma Square and is part of the El Dorado Hotel. They offer small bites for breakfast, full lunches and dinners. They have indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a lounge where you can come in for a drink or two before venturing out for the night. I really like the patio and how closed in it is. Although off of Spain Street which has a lot of car traffic, you dont really hear that when sitting in the court yard. It has some really pretty landscaping as well. I love taking my Mom here for lunches. I now recommend the El Dorado again to friends and family when they visit. And I have been supporting them during Covid with take outs orders.
