The Old Bay + Parmesan seasonings for the "Crab Your Way" with crispy potatoes, and a side of hush puppies
    Douglas V.

I feel bad I didn't get our server's name but he's early 20s, blonde middle part hair, with a forearm tattoo sleeve. He was a great server for us. He got all of our order correct, made sure we were ok without asking too frequently. We also went to Red Lobster to check out their new service since CEO Damola took over. I gave the new Old Bay + Parmesan seasonings on the Crab Your Way a shot and it didn't disappoint. A little salty but that's what the Tropical White Sangria was for, which was a breathe of island fruity breeze.

My wife and I ate dinner there on August 2nd. We had, I think they call it, Rocket Shrimp as an appetizer. It was very tasty, the sauce was delicious. The cheddar biscuits were delicious as always. She had the baradi crab legs, crispy potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The crab was tender, sweet, delicious. The crispy potatoes were delicious, they needed salt but so nice and crispy. The steamed broccoli was cooked perfectly but also lacked salt. I had the stuffed flounder, Mac and Cheese, Brussel sprouts. The fish was tender, the sauce was delicious. The bacon Mac and Cheese was very tasty. Lots of bacon. Needed a little more sauce but very tasty. The Brussel sprouts are delicious. Perfectly cooked. Just the right amount of balsamic vinegar. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Glad to see Red Lobster is back! The food was wonderful. The hush puppies were better than I even remember. The margarita flight wasn't too good but it may just be that I'm not a huge drinker. The server was attentive and very friendly. The dining area was clean and nice but the female restroom was horrible and smelled like a sewer. I took a star off for cleanliness of the restroom.

I can't tell you the last time I've been to Red Lobster but I was inspired by posts regarding the $20 Tuesday Crab Legs on TikTok so I said let me go on and see what everyone is talking about. I arrived around prime dinner time and was seated immediately. My 1st server Freddie immediately greeted me and I told him I already knew what I wanted because I was here for the Tuesday Crab Leg special to which he said was a good choice. You can opt for traditional steamed legs or garlic butter and I had to go with the garlic butter because why not!!??!!?? The deal also comes with crispy potatoes and your choice of one side. Once upon a time all entrees came with salads if I recall correctly, yet I guess with inflation over the years that wasn't the case anymore and a side salad as a side has an up charge of $2.49.... so I "splurged" lol and ordered the side salad as my side. As I waited Freddie brought a basket of those delicious cheddar bay biscuits and on first bite, they were just as I remembered .... PURE HEAVEN! Once my meal arrived I was excited to dig in! And let me just say that everything was YUMMY! The only critique I have is that the crab leg shells were a little soft which was unusual (I'm used to them being pretty firm and with the cracking device cracking them it being a bit of a SNAP, yet that wasn't the case) but the meat in those legs came out perfectly and there was zero fight in getting it out. I was checked on a few times throughout my meal by a new server, Marvin, and he ensured that I was enjoying everything and that I had everything I needed. I was able to eat all the crab legs and left 75% of the potatoes, not because they were bad (they were actually delicious), but because I was full! So, this Tuesday deal is truly a GREAT ONE because it's delicious and filling and all for just around $20! Needless to say I'll be back Red Lobster and the Endless Shrimp will be next on my list :)

Red Lobster is always hit or miss but this visit was a hit. Food (5/5): Cheddar Bay biscuits were fresh and hot. The food was great. We came for Lobsterfest. We had coconut shrimp- which were large and freshly fried. Hubby got the seafood stuffed flounder and I had the Lobsterfest special of grilled lobster tail and steamed lobster tail (the grilled was the best). We had sides of salad (fresh simple garden salad), broccoli (steamed with butter and garlic- my favorite), cole slaw (just ok), and mashed potatoes with a special lobster cream sauce (5.50 extra and worth it). Overall, we ended taking half of the meals home (other than the lobster tails) so we got another meal from this.). Service (5/5): the servers were kind and attentive. Value (3/5): The food is really overpriced for what you get and I'm always surprised that Red Lobster is still in business.

Totally forgot til we were done eating...

The first thing that informed me that this was going to be a good first experience was being greeted at the door, simply to welcome me and inform that I would be seated soon. It's alarming just how few places provide that kind of genuine courtesy. The Monday duck confit special was excellent, and fork tender. While the wine list is not expensive, it is focused on what is good with their food. My table service from Eric also far exceeded what most restaurants provide these days. While the good and service were outstanding, there was no pretense in the decor or ambiance. Entering the restaurant felt like stepping into another place, and want you coming back for more. And yes. The restaurant ambience and decor even gave us fond memories of restaurants visited on our 2023 trip to Paris. The tuna tartare as a shared appetizer was delicious, as were our entrees - Trout Almondine and Duck Confit. The hardest decision of the night was actually dessert, which we would normally skip, but being our anniversary and first time at the Brasserie Royale, we indulged. The "British" (in a French restaurant?) seasonal offering of Sticky Pudding was too tempting not to try. It was excellent. The service and wine selections were equally enjoyable. It was busy on a Monday evening, so reservations are recommended. Our table for two was nestled between other small tables and it was interesting to both see and get reviews of other dishes. Overheard from the table to our right were criticisms of the squash ravioli and garlic sausage entrees. However, the table to our left was effusive about the creme brulee. We will be back. (still need to work on my food photo taking, sorry - I always remember after the dish is almost gone)

There there is an Olive Garden nearby so it isn't out by itself, even if it feels like it. The weather was beautiful, so we grabbed a high top in the bar area, overlooking a nice little pond behind the restaurant. The service in the bar was surprisingly good, despite the bar itself being pretty crowded and nearly every table around it being populated. The food was served quickly and they allowed us to customize to our liking (TIP: pay the nominal upcharge to replace your existing side dish to Brussels sprouts with bacon and spiced pecans! Or get it as a side to share) I had the Hickory Grilled Hanger Steak with mashed potatoes and a field greens salad, except no potatoes. The salad was amazing (it has dates in it for a sweetness to balance the sour of the dressing) and the medium rare steak was phenomenal. We each had a glass of beer -- the Pale Face Summer Wheat on draft. It is a classic German Hefeweizen and described as "malty with banana and clove flavors." I tested the banana on my first sip. It was a solid choice. The next day, we worked a 15 hour day without stopping to eat. By the time we finished, we were so tired that we agreed to return. I ordered the same steak and my coworker followed my recommendation. He agreed that this is the steak to order. (even if he ordered his more well done than mine). For the second visit, we ordered the bread pudding for dessert instead of beer with dinner. I suggest splitting the dessert. Don't get me wrong, it was fantastic, but was definitely shareable after a full steak meal.

For starters, they have zero communication skills. They drop things at the table and just stand there without a word. I did not receive the Vietnamese coffee that I ordered until I asked for it nor was I asked whether or not I wanted it with whipped cream - there's was no description on the menu so I wasn't aware it came with whipped cream. When we placed our order we asked for extra cilantro and received no cilantro at all. Once the runner delivered our food no one came over to ask how everything had turned out, if we needed anything else etc. The lack of communication, lack of attention to detail and quite frankly complete lack of personality turned a pleasant afternoon meal into a disappointment. I read my last review of this place over 2 years ago and chuckled. Even back then (just coming out of covid) I was complaining about these same things - price increase and shrinkflation. And to think I thought $22 for 2 teriyaki chicken meals was too much! This weekend I paid $19 for ONE, count 'em ONE, chicken teriyaki meal, granted with double meat. What in the world was I complaining about 2+ years ago, amiright?! lol Then why keep coming here, you ask? Well, sometimes you have to cave in when the teriyaki craving hits you. We come out to the mall eatery when we're in the area running errands. The eatery has surprisingly rebounded and appears to be reconstituting its offerings although the mall itself, post-covid, remains a sad and sorry shell of its former self. #sadface Back to Sarku...No complaints at all about the taste, freshness and quality of the teriyaki chicken. A container full of sizzling, piping hot and fresh grilled meat right from watching it get expertly grilled right before your own eyes - CAN'T GET MORE FRESH THAN THAT. The "chef" working the grill honestly is a pro. We remember him when he first started wayyyyy back in the day (well before covid) - "apprenticing" under the prev "chef". This guy is good - he apprenticed well lol. He's fast, efficient and knows how to crank out multiple orders at once. Frankly, he single-handedly keeps this place running like a top. (Give this guy a raise....or part ownership of the business because he's the one keeping this place alive and kicking.) So, NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL WITH SARKU'S FOOD QUALITY. Our go-to order now is to order 1 ENTREE WITH DOUBLE MEAT. It's definitely a better deal and IT'S ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE TO SHARE - especially if you're not ravenous. Check out my pic and vid of our double meat order. You'll see what I mean. ANOTHER TIP: no matter that we no longer frequent this place much anymore (due to how expensive it's become for "fast food"), we still keep a FREQUENT DINER CARD on hand and use it when we go/order - it's worth getting a free entree for every 6 you order - so if you're not doing that (especially if you do go here regularly or order multiple entrees in a single visit), get a card from the cashier and start getting your entrees stamped and earning a free meal. The cards never expire and are not location specific so even better if you frequent different Sarku locations. As I said, we don't go out of our way to go to this Sarku or any other location because of how pricey it is. Sarku has continued to steadily jack up their prices AND have made their containers smaller and smaller and smaller (so they can make you feel like they've generously stuffed your box full of food - clever! ...not). Their other menu items might be better value but I seriously doubt it and I don't think I would trust sushi made at a fast food carryout joint anyway. So, for all these reasons, we only go when we're in the area of the mall AND have a craving for teriyaki chicken.
