I had not visited an El Gallo Giro in a while, but I was really pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is clean and well-lit, which makes for a welcoming atmosphere right from the start. Just to the left of the entrance, they have a nice selection of pan dulce -- and they still had a decent variety even though we were there close to closing time, which was a pleasant surprise. We ordered al pastor and asada tacos along with a torta Cubana. My husband loved the torta and finished every last bite! The tacos were solid and satisfying as well. The agua frescas were a highlight too -- tasty, refreshing, and not too sweet. A great complement to the meal. Service was quick and friendly. The young woman at the register noticed how many tacos we were ordering and proactively offered a taco box to help us save some money. It was a small gesture, but it really stood out. The food was really good! Excellent value the burrito was stuffed! And the bread was so good that we took it home and ate one a day for about 5 days and they were still super good. We would add them to the oven for a few minutes before eating and they basically tasted fresh! The restaurant was clean and spacious! My favorite place to get concha's, the pan is soft and fluffy and the topping crumbly and moist like Milk powder. You can actually taste the flavor on them! They serve hot food As well, loved the carnitas burrito. Their tortas look huge! read more

You order, then sit down and they call your number to get the food. A real pleasant gentleman brought us our large drinks which were huge:) My carnitas tacos were great and the side of beans I ordered were a little different than most places-really yummy. Well, it didn't take long for the Mickey warriors inner-vultures to sniff out the free pan dulce. These muchachos stormed the break-room faster than Speedy Gonzales on a sugar rush, even faster than Superman chasing down a taco truck. Those breads were devoured quicker than a horde of Gremlins going after midnight snacks. I tried to save some for the Security team, but once again, security has been denied--¡Pobrecitos! The tacos were ok but we didn't like the rice. The desserts were really good. Service was kind but it was uncomfortable to eat inside as it felt like no AC and the music was so loud. Most of the people coming in were getting the conchas which looked and smelled amazing but we couldn't try because we are gluten free. The corn tortillas were great and tasted homemade. read more

Ive been wanting to try this place for so long and finally did so. I was not disappointed. The 4 Taco plate was wonderful. I ordered a carne asada, chorizo, carnitas and chicken taco. Each was delicious. The chorizo was a bit spicy, but I'm a lightweight when it comes to spicy food but it was tolerable and delicious. The beans and rice were delicious as well. Excellent last minute Fathers Day lunch here. The mariachi was an unexpected treat, we arrived just for lunch only to be serenaded by wonderful music. The lunch itself was excellent and prepared right in front of us. The menu was really good, only thing missing was enchiladas on the menu but it's ok, I ordered a chicken bowl and it was absolutely delicious. My friends ordered a torta and a carnitas burrito. The rice was prepared just perfect, salsas and beans were pretty good too. I have zero complaints, quality and freshness was on point. The staff is cordial and they check on you constantly to see if you need anything. Though they don't sell alcoholic beverages, what they do have won't disappoint. Plenty of aguas frescas like horchata, Jamaica and tamarindo. The one thing I can't get over is the smell of fresh baked Mexican bread that filled the air, it smelled just amazing, ended up buying a few to take home. There are tamales available as well, some soups if you like menudo and cocido. Everything is clean and well organized. A generous 5 stars! read more

Was craving a torta! There is not a better place for tortas and bolios than Gallo Giro! This was my first time at this location. This one definitely has the best sit down area compared to most and loved the salsa bar! As well as the hot box of fresh concha's and bolios! As always the food was great! A little light on the beans compared to Santa Ana but different cooks! Santa Ana will always be my favorite! Been going there since high school! So over 37 years! First time coming here and it did not disappoint! The taco de carnitas was savory and juicy. The agua fresca de limon con chia and horchata were delicious and refreshing. And the molcajete was amazing! It had shrimp, carne asada, chicken and chorizo for the main meats and it came with beans, cheese, nopales and jalapeño with a yummy chili sauce. It also came with tortillas. The cashier said it was for one person but I split it with my husband and it was perfect. We left satisfied and full but not that gross full feeling. Bathrooms are spacious, dining booths were comfy and the place was clean. Oh and they also have a bakery stocked with all your favorite Mexican sweet bread. Definitely a do not miss! So good!
