I was looking for a restaurant to eat some platanos fritos con frijol y cream and was excited to try this new spot found on yelp. Our waitress was friendly and gave us the menu and took our order. But unfortunately, as I was ordering, she told me that they did not have any platanos currently because they are not ripe enough, so I had to order something else. My three stars were because they didn't have any platanos. :( But when my bf plate came with two platanos on the side because he ordered the eggs with chorizo breakfast plate that comes with platanos. I was confused because of the other waitress saying they didn't have the platanos for the platanos plate. So what she said was that they didn't have platanos enough for the only platanos plate. Please don't let the exterior of this place fool you, this is a hidden gem. My family and I were craving some good Salvadoran food, so my wife suggested checking this place out. I can honestly say that I was pleasantly please with the whole experience; the waitress was nice and helpful and the food, OMG the food was ON POINT. I'm Central American, so I'm very picky when it comes to having my plantains and casamiento prepared the right way. The food here has the taste of my grandma's recipes!! The beans, rice, platanos are amazing! I can't rave about it enough, the pupusas are affordable and well seasoned. They have a creamy chicken with salad and beans to die for! The guisado is delicious, you can't go wrong. I would advice you go with plenty of time, don't be in a rush. I recently discovered this place and I couldn't be happier to know this place exist near to me. I'm Salvadorean and my husband is Mex/Hondureño. We gotta say that we both loved the flavors and authenticity of this place. The host is also a very friendly lady. I personally have already tried the frijol/cheese pupusas, sweet pastelitos, baleadas, AND breakfast típico from El Salvador. Everything was absolutely delicious. In their menu have a wide variety. There are chicken plates, fish, soups, both seafood and chicken. There is plenty of room for large parties. Handicap friendly. This place is clean and had plenty of parking space. I've been to other places where the food isn't great and I feel like it give the Salvadorian culture a bad representation of the food but I've been here only two times but those 2 times have been great . I had a pupusa de frijol con queso and a queso pupusa and they were so good !!! Perfect cheese amount in eat pupusa and the beans weren't burnt like most places. My husband had a plate with plantains , beans, egg, and sour cream . The plantains were great ! Very sweet and tasted amazing with the bean !! Overall , great and totally recommend !!!! read more

El Garrobero is now one to add as a go to. It's closer to where I live and the food was good. I ate the sope de camarón, pastelitos and a pupusa revuelta. I really like this place. I feel like it's hard to find authentic pupuserias if it's anywhere outside of LA but I find that these are pretty good! They currently don't offer outdoor dining, but if you feel comfortable eating inside their dining room is available. We took our food to go and they were only a little bit greasy when we managed to get home. If you like your pupusas to be a little more crisp, you can totally heat them up on a pan on your stovetop.
