Very friendly staff and still a good amount of visitors even at 3PM. I got the soft tacos and they retail at $2.69 per taco. We also got the menudo and felt it was quite bland, but the portions were good for the price. Very family friendly environment and very clean space!

El Huarache De Doña Cehla, the name might be long and a little hard to pronounce, but the food is as authentic as it gets! Came here for brunch and really enjoyed our meal. I had the breakfast burrito with egg and chorizo, and it was hearty, flavorful, and super satisfying. Also tried their lime drink, which was refreshing and hit the spot. The owner provided great service and made us feel right at home. Located right in the downtown area of El Monte, this spot is definitely worth a visit if you're craving real Mexican comfort food. Will be back!

This hole in the wall restaurant is sooo yummy!!! My bf loves coming here since it's authentic Mexican food, like your abuelita cooking in the back. Prices are reasonable, the owner is so friendly! He truly hustles and gets everyone order in and out quickly. They are always busy with customers coming in, ordering to go and online orders but we've never had to wait long for our meal. My absolute favorite is their albondigas plate and fideo. Definitely a gem in El Monte!

First time trying Doña Chela and it was amazing! Food was so good and everyone was so nice. They even put on a kids movie for my daughter. The inside is small, but they do have two sides to the restaurant. Cafe de Olla was sweet but that's how I like it. Horchata was really. Ham and eggs were great. We tried the tamale de pollo and the flavor was great. But my FAVS were the Super Chilaquiles rojos. So so good! And the Huarache de Mole was also just as good! We came on a Sunday and they were busy. But I highly recommend trying it out. We will definitely be coming back!

Found a new gem near work. Tried this little restaurant with my coworkers and we all ordered different items. I ordered the chicken enchiladas plate and it was very good. My coworkers had the wet burrito (carnitas ) and it was big. The prices here are reasonable, and the owner was very nice. He recommended we try the chilaquiles soon, and I will definitely be back. The place was little but had a 2nd section for seating so it was very accommodating especially at lunch hour. Very nice people working here!

There are two entrances right next to each other; this confused us at first, but they are the same restaurant.

My family and I tried El Huarache and loved it so much that we ate there three nights in a row! Everything we tried was delicious: the chilaquiles, the cheese enchiladas, and the huaraches especially. Truly authentic and divine. Everyone who works there is so kind also. We plan on returning!

Great find! We had to do an errand nearby and wanted some good local food for breakfast. We found Doña Chela - A cozy hole in the wall. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with smiles and courtesy. We were looking at the menu on the board but were quickly attended to and got to sit down where we wanted and they explained their specialties. They have delicious Cafe de la Olla and we got to try some chips with delicious homemade salsa as our starter. I got huevos rancheros and my boyfriend ordered the generous in size wet burrito with carne asada (steak). The food came out fast and hot! My boyfriend said it was the best burrito he's had in Southern California!! The huevos rancheros were delicious! Alberto, who attended us and took our order, is also the owner. He was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. We will be back - gotta try pozole and chilaquiles!

Super grateful for the service this morning felt very warm and welcomed by everyone thank you so much

Super bomb coffee like without sugar and everything so bomb, and the service was wonderful,, stopped by for a while to see if I could get a coffee before my train and was hesitant to come in but like welcomed by everyone it was friendly and nice :)

This place is located in the valley mall and has plenty of parking. Came here to try the sopes. I almost ordered a huarache, but I was craving a sope. I was definitely not disappointed. It was made fresh and perfect. The service is great. Looking forward to trying a huarache next. Everything looked delicious and I can't wait to visit soon.

I wish I knew his name, but there's a guy there (shorter height and clean haircut) who gives some of the best customer service I've experienced. Super friendly, accommodating, and genuinely wants to make sure you get exactly what you're craving. One thing to note--there's a menu, but no pictures or brochures, so you kind of have to know what you want or ask. Luckily, he's more than happy to walk you through options. Nachos - Exactly how I remember nachos should be. The chips are those pre-made round ones (like Tostitos Rounds), but still crunchy and satisfying. The meats taste freshly cooked, with a nice sprinkle of veggies. And the best part--they use that classic nacho cheese and sour cream combo. The kind of cheese you'd get at 7-Eleven or a Dodgers game. Not the healthiest, but sometimes I want what I want. Tacos - Simple and classic. You really can't go wrong here. I've tried different meats and they've all been solid. Wet Burritos - Great balance of rice, beans, meat, and veggies. I've had the chicken, carne asada, and al pastor--all delicious. It also comes with a side of lettuce and sliced avocado, which is a nice touch. Side Bar - Fresh radishes, pickled jalapeños, lime, and lemon. Everything tastes fresh and adds a lot to the meal. What really stands out is how flexible they are with orders. I asked for nacho cheese on the side so my chips wouldn't get soggy--no problem. Extra salsa? As much as you want. Not sure if you want red or green salsa on your wet burrito? Get both on the side. They make it easy to customize exactly how you like it. Overall, great food, but even better service. This is the kind of spot that I don't want to review so I can keep it for myself.

I had the burrito with beef, potato and green chili. It was really good, but as I said they were small. But for the price you get what you pay for and I believe that five dollars is fair for this burrito. I wanted to try the bean cheese, I went ahead and bought one of those and it was delicious as well. If you're coming here, expecting a huge burrito you should probably order a couple. Flavor is here in each of these burritos. What I like the most is that they were small enough to order two and try different ones instead of being stuck with the same big giant burrito. Two equal the price of your average burrito somewhere else. After eating two of the small burritos, I was definitely full. Service was good! Pretty fast and easy to order.
