The Cowboy Steak (18 oz bone-in ribeye) was easily the highlight, cooked right, super flavorful, and paired with the huancaína risotto and that huacatay butter... yeah, that combo is no joke. We were looking for ice cream after dinner in Ambler and quickly found Sweet Briar. The line of people waiting for ice cream was an indication it must be good...and it was!! I had the Espresso Explosion, a scooped ice cream, and my partner had a cone with the chocolate soft serve. My favorite ice cream is coffee, and the Espresso exceeded my expectations! It was rich and creamy with a deep coffee flavor that was accentuated with coffee beans that were coated with chocolate! The crunch of the beans with the ice cream was definitely an 'explosion'! My partner had the chocolate soft serve - which was a creamy and chocolaty as can be - you could see tiny little specks of chocolate in the ice cream which confirmed the luscious taste! We had looked online and found a restaurant that featured burgers. We were walking to it when we passed Cantina Feliz. It was busy (which I interpreted to be a good sign) and looked very inviting. We decided to change plans and try this Mexican restaurant instead! Of course I always start a meal at a Mexican restaurant with the guacamole. Our server recommended the Esquites Guacamole, which has grilled corn, lime aioli and a sprinkling of queso fresco (traditional Mexican cheese). It was one of the tastiest guacamole dishes I've ever had!! The grilled corn added such dimension and flavor - and the chips were warm - I think that was the first time I had warm chips - it made it extra special! For our entrees, we ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos and the Steak Fajita Tacos. The Grilled Shrimp tacos were excellent - large tender shrimp, with a corn salsa, avocado, peppers and a chipotle sauce on the side. I added a little of the Esquites Guacamole and enhanced the flavor even more! Next up, the Steak Fajitas. As soon as I had my first bite, I was disappointed....the steak was so tough and rubbery, there were pieces I couldn't swallow. We told the server and he said he would speak to the manager. They agreed to take the fajitas back and remove them from our bill. Our server was great. While it was unfortunate the steak fajitas were not good, it didn't diminish the fact we thoroughly enjoyed the other two dishes.
