El Lago Branson On 248 - Bean burrito - Seafood Near Me - Branson, Missouri

This location is fairly new, around a year or less, and not the Branson West restaurant. We were eager to try a new Mexican restaurant even though there are so many choices in the area. The one thing you'll notice is that it is huge! The biggest Tex-Mex restaurant I've ever visited. But that is about the only thing that impressed me. The chips - bland and the salsa was more like a garlic marinara sauce. You should put your best foot forward when setting out the appetizer. Perhaps it was a harbinger of things to come. My dish, a kind of burrito with chicken and beans with a Mexican style on the side came out rather quickly. Uh oh. The salad was awful mainly for the fact that they had washed the lettuce and tomatoes in an anti-oxidant wash- commonly known as chlorine - and that is how it tasted. Non -edible. The folded tortilla with 3 fillings was fair but the chicken was stringy and overcooked. In fairness, my wife had a dish that was more like a Cracker Barrel chicken, broccoli, cauliflower, and cheese and she said it was good. But - not enough to offset my disappointing meal. With so many good choices, I'd skip this place. read more

Terrible atmosphere and food. The scent of Fabuloso is so strong and hits you in the face right when you walk in and stayed strong the whole time. I appreciate cleanliness but when I walk into a restaurant I want to smell the food, not chemicals. The salsa is very weak. Tastes like spaghetti sauce. Ordered a crispy taco and tostada. Both were completely soggy when they came out. Had to eat them as a mush with a fork. They also got the quesadilla we ordered wrong and brought out another one. That tortilla was ripped when it came out from the kitchen, so you couldn't even pick it up to eat it. All of the meat fell out. And they didn't even cut their quesadilla. It was just a big taco. Another mush to pick apart with a fork. When we tried talking to the staff and the manager, they all just looked at us like we were stupid. Literally the only thing they got right was our water. And it's not like they were busy. There were only four tables of people in the restaurant. We left with a headache from the smell and hungry. The manager Esteban was kind enough not to charge us for the soggy crispy taco and the tostada smush or the quesadilla plate that we didn't eat. So I guess that's a positive. read more

I wanted to like this location. First our table was next to what seemed to be the dirty dishes staging room. (Formerly a private dining room?). Carts of dirty dishes are not appealing. Then our salsa dishes were dirty. Next - and the biggest sin - our margarita's without out salt, came with salt. And we watched the bartender just dump them into new glasses. Imagine my surprise when they tasted salty. Regardless, the Alambre with steak was fine. I would probably just go to the Branson West location and pass this one. read more

This is an honest review from a picky eater on a small budget. This place was very good! I am really bothered by the negative reviews. Most of them aren't even based on the food. When I go out for a meal, the taste of the food I'm paying for is my top concern. I thought the food had amazing flavor. We ordered off the lunch specials because we didn't have a lot to spend. I honestly wasn't expecting much for a $8 burrito. It was very good. The beef had good flavor, and it was loaded with toppings! The menu had a big variety with lots of different price point. Three of us ate for $29!!! You cant even get fast food for that. I really like that the lunch specials are available every day not just Fridays. I also loved the chips and salsa. It will probably depend on what you like. It's very mild, but most places have spicy salsa available if you ask. I didn't think the waiters were rude, just busy. It was 2:00 and people were still coming in! It did take a little bit to get our food, but I didn't mind. If the food is good, and it was, its worth the wait. If I was in a hurry, I'd go to McDonald's. This place deserves better ratings than what it has on here. If you are looking for a solid meal for a decent price, give El Lago a try read more

Underrated restraunt, they say tacos are bad but are really good and the taco Tuesday deal is great. Go there

A large group of us (16) have been going to El Lago on 248 for about a year now. I keep wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt but tonight was the final straw. The service has gradually gotten worse each time we have gone...orders come out mixed up, each time at least one of us gets the wrong order, usually more than one of us, it is mass confusion when the orders are brought out and the servers stand there in bewilderment because they have no clue who got what and it gets worse each time. Tonight I placed my order and the server argued with me when I told him I had ordered rice and beans too and everyone at the table clearly heard me do this. That was pretty much the final straw...my husband informed the cashier when we paid the bill that there would be no tip because the server insisted I did not order what I did when others around me told him I did. He asked everyone at the table if we were ready to order when he hadn't even brought the menus to our table then looked at us like we were crazy when we told him we had no menus. I have called more than once to make a reservation when I know we are going to have a large group and am always told that we don't need to make one but we ended up standing for almost 15 minutes each time to wait for a table. The food is usually Luke warm when it comes to the table. They need to take the customers advice and tell the servers to slow down and give better service. I see lots of disgruntled faces when we leave the restaurant especially when you have to stand in line 15 to 20 minutes to pay after having service like that. This is one customer, along with the 15 others that were with me that will not be back. read more
