I found this little gem and decided to try it out with my mother. We got there on a Saturday evening and were told we had to sit in the back area because on weekends they have live flamenco shows so only those with reservations are seated up front. I didn't mind the back area at all, cozy and away from the noise. On arrival the staff was very welcoming, our waiter immediately greeted us and we asked for a wine recommendation. He suggested a Tempranillo which was divine. Of course you cannot go to "El Manchego Restaurant" and not order manchego cheese! Made a delicious pairing with the wine. We also indulged in garlic shrimp and garbanzos frito. Absolutely loved this place, the atmosphere, staff and food was excellent. read more

The food was great, the croquetas are amongst the best in Miami. Fried garbanzos were also delicious followed by the rest of our tapas which included a Serrano ham and manchego cheese platter and a shrimp scampi. Food was served fast and the waiters were very attentive. We will return. read more

This place puts on an amazing show!!!!! Great flamenco dancers and live music. For just $5 pp you get to experience a little bit of Spain in our own backyard. The sangria was priced fairly and had good flavor. Not too sweet like at some other places. That being said, the food was just average. We had an array or both cold and hot tapas as well as main dishes. Food was not bad at all, just not particularly memorable, especially for the price. Do I recommend this place? Yes, absolutely!!! Found this place on Yelp and so glad I gave it a try! Authentic Spanish cuisine that is accompanied by impeccable service. We started with a Tapas choice recommended by our waiter, German, and had the Sea bass for the entree. Delicious!! Also, we had 1906 Reserva Especial beers. The food was very good, and the entertainment was very good. I was planning to give a 4-5 star rating, until the check came. The restaurant adds an $8 charge per person for the band/entertainment. This would not be so bad if it was clearly pointed out beforehand. When I asked the waitress what the charge was for, she pointed to a very small mention of the fee that was buried in the menu. I don't appreciate the surprise, and I'm not even really sure it actually goes to the band- that's the worst part. Of course, I can't be sure on that point, but I have my suspicions..... Very disrespectful...I'm writing this review as I sit in my car because we just left the Restaurant, I arrived and the first thing the hostess did was tell me and my wife with 3 kids that they had no space for us. Simply because we didn't make reservations and it's only 2.00pm. They didn't look for a solution, or a way to accommodate us at all. In addition it shows nowhere on google or yelp that you need to make reservations for a Sunday. The owner needs to realize he is opened because of the clientele, we feel so disappointed and bad for our kids. If you are not a couple, please call in and make sure they have a suitable space for you. So so disrespectful. We got basically thrown out. read more

Wow!! The oxtail was excellent! The wine was excellent! The beer was excellent! The croquettes were excellent! The jamon was excellent! The atmosphere was excellent! The staff was excellent! I go to a lot of places and treat my clients to some nice lunches but this place is special. The owner came out and sat with us, as did the chef. This is an absolute hidden gem! The food is amazing and the service leaves nothing to be desired. The paella mixta was savory and huge- it fed three people in our party. The croquetas de jamón serrano were some of the best I've ever had. Definitely recommend this place!! I do,however, recommend that if you're going on a Saturday make a reservation because the flamenco show starts at 9. The show is STUNNING. The dancer, the guitarist, the singer, and the percussionist were so authentic and worked the crowd. I will definitely return. read more
