Heads up/warning to anyone with a service animal! We just went to El Manzanillo Mexican Restaurant in Blairsville for dinner and upon waiting to be sat, we were told that we couldn't eat there because of our medical alert service dog. We explained that he is a service dog and that it's a law to which the man behind the checkout counter stated "I don't care" very rudely. After walking out because we refuse to be treated unfairly, I noticed there is a sign on the door stating only service animals are allowed. When I brought the sign to the man's attention, he stared at me and shrugged. All necessary contacts will be notified, but wanted to give a heads up to other locals. read more

Went for taco Tuesday. The food was nothing to speak of. The salsa was watered down. The service was not good, nor friendly. The bathroom smelled and felt dirty. The parking area was trashy which is not seen anywhere else in the town. As beautiful and clean as Blairsville is, we were taken aback. Will not return. This was our 4th visit in about a year. We tried El Manzanillo on the spur of the moment! So glad we did. The service was fantastic. The food was so good too. I had Speedy Gonzales and my sisters had the Pancho's Special. Classic/traditional Mexican. Prices are amazing for the portion size and flavor. La chori burrito is topped with queso and chorizo which was the highlight of the dish. The filling of the burrito was all steak, which was a little dry. La cinta portion size was insane and SO much flavor. Absolutely recommend this. And it was topped will with probably an entire fresh avocado with a pile of jalapeños and corn tortilla quesadillas all around the edge. I can't understand all the low ratings. The food was amazing and the service was warm and welcoming. The prices were ridiculously low. Hubby got the fish tacos (three generous tacos with avocados and a side of rice and beans) for $10.95. I got the tacos de carnitas. Also three huge ones with rice and beans for the same $10.95. The in-laws got the quesadilla pizza and chimichangas. We also got a side of the choriqueso. Everything was amazingly delicious. Definitely come here. So worth it! read more

My sister and I came here for dinner on a Sunday night. After being sat, for several minutes we were finally greeted. Ordered queso and that never came until after our entrees. I really, really, hate to have to change my 5-star review, but due to the federal law that was broken tonight by the owner, I have no choice. Immediately after leaving the County commissioners meeting at the courthouse, myself, my friend, and her medical service dog went to my favorite Mexican restaurant, El Manzanilo...The commissioner and others from the meeting were at the restaurant which makes this a little more appalling. My friend is a disabled veteran, and is required to have her medical service dog present at all times. It is a federal law that a medical service dog, especially for a disabled veteran or a blind person, be allowed in any facility, of any kind, anywhere. The owner refused to seat us, even after I explained it is a federal law that he do so. I then told him that Lamar Paris was seated in his restaurant, and had just witnessed us inside of the courtroom 10 minutes prior. The owner still did not care. My friend asked if I would approach the Commissioner to ask what we should do. Lamar told me to call 911 and speak to the Blairsville police. By this time, my friend was becoming traumatized by the incident and walked out with her service dog by her side, aware that her owner was not well. I walked back in and asked him for his name, and he refused to give it, that a law firm would need his contact information. Let me tell you something my friend; within 24 hours of me typing this, 20,000 people, 2 attorneys, a half dozen veterans service organizations, and our congressman Andre Clyde will know of this. You have no idea of the grave error of judgement you've had. Btw, Andrew Clyde is not only a United States Congressman, he is a VETERAN, and I was just with him last Saturday. You have violated the, 'Americans with Disabilities Act', so you will have consequences for your very irresponsible actions. I'm sorry I have to do this, but you hurt a disabled veteran tonight, and one of my dearest friends. She went home and was extremely upset. You will be contacted by one or more law firms within the next week, so I'd suggest you lawyer up. PREVIOUS REVIEW: I love these guys! The food and menu are so incredible everyone at the table typically changers their mind two or three times. Delicious food, a fantastic selection and very reasonable prices. Visited GA and ordered to go from El Manzanillo. Food was delicious! Definitely a culinary experience

Typical strip mall restaurant, exterior needs serious updating, windows full of hand written signs, and the windows need washing! Friendly greeting and prompt seating and drink order taken right away. Returned for the food order right away also. The food arrived quickly and half of our order was correct, however the other was ordered without sour cream. Waiter returned, apologized and took the plate. Returned in seconds which told me that they scraped the sour cream off in the back and added lettuce to cover it up. While I was eating it I discovered it and had to stop eating as I have dairy allergies. About 30 minutes after we left I had a reaction and had to force myself to vomit, not to mention (but I will) left with diarrhea. Did not say anything else as I didn't want to hear any apology or excuses. Food was very reasonably priced and nice lunch specials. Won't be returning based on the deception of the food incident as I can only imagine how the food safety in the kitchen is handled. I'm not saying that they don't follow the correct protocols but won't take any chances. The deception was enough for me not to trust the restaurant again. Hope this review is helpful to others and alerts them to be aware of special orders. We will not be returning to give them another opportunity. read more

Run of the mill Americanized Mexican food. Chips were warm, but salsa was barely spicier than straight catsup. Ordered Flautas, was served chicken taquitos, hint, Flautas are made with flour tortillas! Ordered a couple of tacos, de carnitas, very tasty. Service was prompt. read more

I absolutely hate doing this one. I was the only unhappy camper in my party of seven. So with that said, here it goes. I had the tacos el pastor. I have eaten this meal in more states than I care to mention. For me, yesterdays el pastor is easily the worst I've had. Way overcooked with no flavor. I said nothing because all were happy at my table. I was hungry and ate. All was good. At the beginner g of the meal we were asked if we were on the same ticket. We said no and told the waiter who went with who. After the meal he tossed the bill on the table and said " you can divide that up". A couple minutes later he heard me tell my friend what he said. And he came back and made good. Took the bill and was very nice. I know customers can be difficult. But if I was difficult your in the wrong business. Just my humble opinion. Great Mexican hole in the wall! True Mexican flavors, and friendly service. The chips and salsa came out immediately, the drink orders were taken when the chips were dropped off, and came out right away. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh. Had Quesadillas Texanas, which we're amazing - steak, chicken and shrimp with green peppers, onions, and mushrooms in flour tortillas and covered in white queso sauce. I only ate (1) of (2)! I came back for Taco Tuesdays ($5 for 5 beef tacos). Plenty of beef, cheese and lettuce,and the beef had a good flavor. I swapped out the hard tortillas for soft corn, and it made all the difference. read more

Been going there for quite a while on Tuesday for the 1.00 taco. They were really good. 5 friends of mine and myself picked up some tonight and they were totally different and they were tasteless. I called and told them what we all experienced and the response was that is all you get for 1.00.. never even tried to figure out what happened was told to not buy them if i did not like... Oh well, so much for customer service. I usually go there 5 or 6 times a month and spent 20.00 -30.00 each visit. I will go elsewhere. read more

Very nice and super clean but the food left A LOT to be desired. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants and this is by far the only one that was inedible. Ground beef wasn't fully cooked, rice tasted like it was from a bag. I highly recommend you try somewhere else for your Mexican cravings. read more
