Super yummy looking, tastes as good as it looks burrito, half gristle, half Carne asada jerky, very dry, probably going to the dogs,

I judge a restaurant by how much unedible gristle is in the Carne asada. I'm halfway through my first Carne asada burrito and so far have run into 6 pieces of gristle that I could not eat. The meat seems like dry leftovers from two days ago. Person at the register was nice and friendly. When I asked my wife if she would go there again, it was a flat, NO. First time and last time, that was easy.

We have been supporting all our local businesses for years. So Yelpers everywhere are support local businesses everywhere. So El Mariachi was on our radar to try. Today was the day!! I have been craving menudo for a few weeks but wasn't sure if I would find some as delicious as my moms. Well I had a little doubt but I was willing to try. It wasn't quite my moms but it was darn yummy. My craving has been met! Other family members ordered a breakfast burrito that was great. Maybe not what New Mexican are accustomed to real potatoes diced not hash browns, eggs and cheese all cooked together. Now we know New Mexico is known for some good tortillas and these were some very authentic ones. I'm not positive but I am fairly sure the tortillas were made on site. They reminded me of making tortillas with my mom and abuelita growing up. Finally also was the carne asada which were cooked to perfection. The corn tortillas stayed perfectly warm on our way home. Finally a word on their salsa very very delightful.

    Very nice place

Cedar Crest holds a gem! El mariachi is a fantastic little spot to stop for lunch or dinner! Eating indoors or outdoors, the smells of the food only make your stomach more hungry than it was before arriving. Three in our party and we all ordered different items. The food was quick to come out despite having a lot of customers. Everything on our table looked absolutely amazing! I am very glad that we stopped here to eat as it is a place that we will still return! When passing through Cedar crest, you'll want to stop by for sure!

    El pastor tacos.

Ordered their all pastor tacos, I must say one side crunchy the other SUPER soggy. The rice taste like instant rice, bleh. Not good at all. The beans were decent. To add the young emo guy behind the counter really RUDE! Zero customer service! Kept walking outside to smoke his e-cig! Cmon it's a restaurant. People are sitting outside! You ask will I return, NEVER AGAIN!

This place is recommended to me by Spears automotive. This burrito is packed with flavor. 5.75 plus tax for a handheld burrito. I am very impressed with the flavor of the burrito and how quick the service was. If you're up in the cedar Crest area I highly recommend you stop here even if you need it to go.

Wrong! They only have Gumbo soups now. I am not complaining at all, we chose a separate appetizer. We love the Oven-Baked Crab Cake with Jumbo lump crab, & lemon caper butter it was delicious. Kara was on top of all parts of service. She was attentive but not intrusive in the least. 5***** all the way. So we ordered a ton of food, and enjoyed it with the complimentary French bread & Butter. Dan had: Pappadeaux's Platter with Two fried catfish fillets, [extra] shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp, stuffed crab, crawfish. Dan only got through less than half. I ordered Rainbow Trout & Jumbo Crab Blackened trout, shrimp, jumbo lump crab, hazelnut brown butter, with Buttered Heirloom Grits. The pairing worked very well together. There was a slight up charge for the grits, but I am happy. The food was fresh, delicious and well balanced. The garden outside and around Pappadeaux is a relaxing and inviting. They have a water fountain on their front veranda, and it was wonderful to hear the birds in the trees. Windows give a nice view of their gardens. I believe they still may patio seating but I didn't ask about it. The waitress offered dessert and with both of us having had a substantial more food on our plate, we declined... but I admit the banana pudding was calling my name (back for a limited time she said).

Jill, the hostess was not friendly, or even remotely helpful, and Laura was even worse!!! She was the one that seated us. No smile, no, "how are you today," nothing. Zero warmth, zero personality. She needs to change that, "I don't want to be here" look on her face. James, our server was awesome. Thank goodness he was the one that we interfaced with the most. Had Laura been our server, we would have left.

I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in and allowed to pick my own table. My server was nice and showed me how they handle the boils as it relates to prices and what comes with the boils. They have some premade combos or create your own. I created my own. The flavor options were limited to two and 3 spice levels. None of the boil bags came with boiled eggs as this was not an option on their menu at all. I was quite sad about that as most seafood boil places offer eggs. The lemons were not included but instead were a side option unless you wanted the small complimentary side of them. When the food was brought out, there was only one clear bag it was held in which caused the oil and sauce to later seep through the bag and get on my table. The crab leg clusters were plentiful as well as the muscles. I only wish you could get less than a pound of crab leg clusters and less than a pound of other options instead of being forced into picking a pound. All in all, not a bad place for this seafood boil connoisseur. It was a little more on the pricey side compared to what I would pay at other places.
