The tacos are great too, and 2 chicken tacos for under $5 is a value. They do a good job customizing your food as well. Traveling down foothill boulevard, hungry and tired, this is your spot. 7 bucks for a fully loaded carne asada burrito, the place is open till 11 and the food is great. The girl working the front was also super nice great service is always a plus. Was here for a takeout meal on Monday of this week, and this was my first visit. Being a Tujunga local, I have passed by many times without going in, since parking on busy Foothill is tough and i am generally in a hurry to eat when out and about on other business. However, based on generally positive Yelp reviews I stopped in to give it a try. However tastes vary and I guess that some of them look for different things. For example: Cleanliness: The place looked and smelled dirty. Not the best first impression but I stayed. Staff Attitude: Not welcoming, I felt like i was interrupting a family meeting from their reaction. Food: I ordered the cheese enchiladas plate, which came after a long wait and after i had driven for about five minutes I realized that the food smelled odd. It turned out that they contained sour cheese. In disgust, I threw out the meal when i got home and made myself something at home. Will not return. read more

I love this place. I love the owner and support both his businesses. The food here is always great. The one thing I would avoid is the salty dry cheese on the nachos if you are sensitive to salt. They make the nachos taste very salty. Otherwise, no complaints. Oh the parking is annoying because it's curbside and limited but that would be my only complaint. If you're in a hurry, place your order 10-20 minutes in advance. Highly Recommend this place with reasonable prices for a reasonable amount of food. read more

I am very very picky when it comes to Mexican food. I came here on a random occasion while in La Crescenta/Tujunga area. I was so amazed with the taste, quality, and service! This restaurant is located right on Foothill Blvd., close to many other restaurants and shops. It says TACOS right in front. Its a very cute and quaint restaurant, decorated and very colorful. I tried the carne asada burrito and the sopes. Both were absolutely delicious! The quality of meat is great. You can specify exactly what you want in your burrito, and they're very good about making sure they follow your order. A person in my group asked for no cheese and when our food came out, the guy at the register came up to us and showed us the wrapped burrito labeled to ensure us there was no cheese in it. The sopes were delicious. Their tortilla was so flavorful! They have a section where you get your own salsa. They, of course, have red and green sauce. They also have radish, beans, lime, onion and cilantro, and fried salted jalapenos that are mouthwatering and warm! You will love those fried jalapenos. We did take out, but we sat there waiting for our food, and I really liked how it was clean and spacious inside. I will drive to La Crescenta/Tujunga just to eat here again. How on earth this place got so many stars completely escapes me! Perhaps the ownership has changed...? Thought I'd grab a quick bite before returning from La Crescenta to L.A., so I looked to Yelp for some ideas as I was craving Mexican food. This place was further away than I wanted, but gave it a whirl. When i walked in, it was a Saturday around 12:30pm. There was one guy eating and three at anoher table watching soccer. I walked up to order and no one was behind the counter...several minutes later, a guy finally appeared. I ordered a cheese enchilada verde, my fave. He seemed to have trouble understanding me, so I tried in my best Span-English, and that seemed to get thru. He told me the verde was spicy, the roja red was mild, so I went with roja. There was a frig wih maybe five bottled drink selections, so I went with strawberry and headed for a table. He brought me a small bowl of chips which tasted like they had been sitting out on the counter for at least a month, and a plate of radishes and limes which were dry and rubbery, along with some green salsa that was decent...but even so, finishing those chips was not an option. When my enchilada arrived, it was accompanied by rice and beans..both ok. The enchilada had some sort of crema squirted on the top which gave me pause, but I proceeded to eat it. As I was eating, they cranked up the soccer game full blast, and as I looked out of the corner of my eye, the guy who took my order was STANDING on the counter...shoes and all, pounding something into the wall. 2 years ago, I would have given this place a 5 star. Awesome 1 dollar tacos and delicious sopes and nachos. HOWEVER, they have definitely have gone down the hill with the quality of their food and customer service. FOOD: I don't see as much meet on the tacos or the nachos anymore. I just got the nachos last night and I feel like I had at only 60% of the toppings then I used to get. I only have crap ton of sour cream with not enough beans and meat to even finish half the chips. Also, I got a beef nacho when I order a chicken nacho... very annoying.. Same story with the tacos. They used to put so much meat on the taco that I used to split my tacos into 2 but not anymore. Customer Service: I haven't been going here much since about a year ago. I used to go there about once a week or two but several things that kept me from going back: 1. none of their prices are posted, they won't give you the total over the phone and they charge 10% tax. I get it's easier math for them and it's mere cents but still annoying 2. They mess up on the order a lot. Like the nachos yesterday, when I order chicken, I would appreciate chicken and not something else. I can't even give them an excuse when the order was just tacos and a nacho. Not a huge order. Husband didn't think to check the food before leaving. 3. On a bigger order, they have left stuff out. So after I noticed they mess up on their orders, I started to check all the items before I leave the store. And I noticed that they would leave out 3 orders of tacos or give me a wrong meat of sope. So I would have to wait another 15 minutes for them to make it and give it to me. This is the point when I stopped going there. SO if you are going to phone in your order, make sure you get all the quantities of your order AND that they gave you the right food before you leave. read more

We have run in here for quick evening meals before and they seem to be very popular. Staff is great, menu is reasonable and they also deliver. Thankfully we can walk here! chicken flautas, tacos, burritos all great. Last night I thought the presentation of my flautas was particularly artful with the shredded lettuce and cheeses. And wow they have a guy who plays flamenco who say down behind us and amazed us. If you have anything bad to say about this place you either have a stick up your ass or are looking for bad things to write because you're bored. This place is fantastic. The taco meat. Starting with the chicken, carnitas and asada is all standard and well cooked. Where the real flavor starts rocking is the pastor, chorizo and the lengua. All of which come with the perfect amount of meat as to not leave you with a lack of protein while giving you space to put all the salsas and onions mixed with cilantro. Which brings me to this places next point of excellence, salsa. These people make an avocado salsa that's creamy and delicious with a very decent kick of spicyness. Get there before 7 or 8 because that's their go to salsa and it does run out first. On top they have a red salsa that will complete your spicy needs if the avocado salsa does not. As you can see I'm a huge fan of this places tacos, and I've been all over LA for tacos. Their nachos are huge and made to be very filling. Their burrito is cheap and good as well but if you come to this place I suggest you spend the measly $1.25 and buy at least one taco to experience this places magic. read more

Great family owned taco shop with better-than-most carne asada and salsas. I'm a fan. The Food Carne Asada tacos and other meats. The difference here is in the asada. The small bits of hand chopped beef have good flavor and color and actually chew like steak. None of that pale-gray, ground beef textured crap other places do. They do a good job of removing the gristle and keeping the meat tender. Lacks consistency but is more or less the same-never bad. Their asada is a labor of love. buche- salty and delicious. carnitas- tender, but not melting delicious. pastor- less clavo please! The Salsas As other reviewers have remarked, the avocado salsa is delicious. Great depth, acidity and spice. The flavor expands in your mouth, as opposed to the one note dull that so many guacamoles can be. It has however, tasted more delicious on some days than others. Red....Red salsa tastes unique....and not in a good way for me. Refried beans were tasty. Service/Atmosphere Theres a good crowd here, most probably locals. Wish there was a parking lot..traffic on Foothill sucks and the only parking is on the street, which is usually full. Definitely worth driving around the block a couple times lol. The food here is truly authentic and the prices are excellent. It is not fancy inside. Very basic tables, chairs, tv. Not a restaurant to take a a date. But great for takeout. They don't have menus for take out so u have to choose from the menu on the wall. The tacos are like street tacos. Very basic but delicious. That sopas are amazing. Last night I ordered chicken sopas and got chicken soup by mistake. I went with it. The soup was delicious! Served with homemade corn tortillas. Great for take out if you have about 20 minutes to wait for your order without calling ahead. I suggest going in to take a picture of the menu on the wall ahead of time. ....they really need menus! read more
