Very good pan dulce, service was great. I almost went in and got the bread myself but a man came out and said that he would do it for me, I apologized since I didn't know that someone would get the bread for you. He was nice about it. I will definitely come back for bread and try the food from the restaurant since someone coming out from the restaurant said the food was good. Got to give it a try. Came in this morning at 6 am after driving in from the desert. I got some fresh pastries for $1.80 (deal for the people) and a Huevos Rancheros to go. The pastries were good and not dried up. The cook was so nice to me and my breakfast was amazing. Good early am Mexican breakfast joint and a great deal too. I'll be back for that breakfast burrito deal soon. This is the best Mexican food in Pomona for me. I have been eating here since I was a child so, yes my review is possibly going to be a little biased. Because I have been a patron for so long, I have my favorites there and loving them so much has caused me to prohibit myself from trying other items. I can speak highly for the cheese enchiladas and chili relinnio (spelling). They are both extremely cheesy and delish. You may also get them as a combo with rice and beans, as I do. I will admit that the food doesn't taste as flavorful as it used to because the restaurant moved to the other side of Garey in a newer facility. I do miss the old location and its signature smell. But with the new location came the liquor license, so cerveza is now available along with tvs to catch a game. Great autmosphere and no problems with the staff so far. Still my fave in P-town. read more

So we had an event at the fairplex so we decided to stop. I've been to this place a few times but it's nothing to get excited about. Parking lot are for only a few cars and only one handicap stalls. No lights in the parking lot very dark. Take out window are always busy. A+ on the door but don't really know how. Dirty tables and chairs and didn't really see any bus boys. A lot of geese on the floor at the front door from the kitchen. Only one server and had a attitude. Our order was wrong and had to be taken back. Drinks are the only thing she got right. Chips were the only thing that saved this report from getting a 1 star. Once we got the food the second time we never seen her again. Also waited for the check and she came back and said she/someone lost it. Maybe it's different at other locations not sure. Maybe a off night not sure. It is what it is. Will not be returning. Cute home-style authentic Mexican Restaurant. Cant go wrong with the chilaquiles or breakfast burritos, or honestly any of the main courses. I've been here countless times and always greeted with a smile. Carmen & Vicky are a great team. Always great service and super clean. They also do take out & have Menudo on weekends. Great for families of all sizes. PS: you HAVE TO check out the bakery, best guava & empanadas in LA. ALSO I have to leave an amazing review because Merendero catered my wedding last year. I cannot express how professional they were, and extremely organized, they planned everything out perfectly. From full course buffet, Cocktail hour appetizers and also the cake. Great Mexican Restaurant! First time here and I loved it. I came with a large party so we all tried something different. Chile Verde is great but really hot! So if you like it spicy you will love it. Menudo is good and tasty. Chile Colorado (beef) had great flavor and not spicy at all. Nachos were good too. Best part is that instead of tortillas they offer you Bolillos! Soooo good. This continues to be my favorite Pomona restaurant. The food is excellent, almost as good as my father's cooking. I highly recommend the jalapeño tamales for takeout. The bakery's selection of pan dulce, always VERY fresh, also excellent. And they always have the coffeepot on for us customers popping in on a hurried schedule. read more

My fiancé and I went for the first time. It's choose your own seating. We were quickly given menus and drinks. Their chips and salsa is delicious. Unfortunately after an hour of waiting we decided to leave. There were people who got there after us who were being served first. I have been here several times for the past few years and would highly recommend this place. The food never disappoints and they have the best beef tamales at the bakery although you can order the tamale plate at the restaurant as well. They have a variety of Mexican food from regular tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas to seafood. The menudo is great too as well as the agua frescas. read more

When i explained how my order was wrong the waitress tried to say this is what i ordered....So when my family and I came here again, i once again ordered flautas. and what did you know i received flautas! this is where i started hating coming here. SO another time (yes my family likes bad service, im not paying and should not complain BUT if YOUR coming here...let me explain what your in for) i ordered the large Carne asada Nachoes with no salsa/chilli/nothing spicy. and sure enough my order was saturated with Green sauce. i wait for my order to come once again and this time i'm content (not happy but okay). so i decided from now on only order nachoes from here....HAHAHAHA the last time we were here i order my Large Carne Asada Nachoes with no Chilli and they gave me the small.....and when i brought this up to the waitress she once again tried to defend the mistake...except this time i showed my instagram photo of the Large Carne Asada Nachoes i got last time and the different plate being used on my order. Food is great. Always had good experiences here. Today was the exception. Unfortunately I had to walk into the restaurant after waiting 25 minutes out on the patio for my to-go order. The couple that ordered after me had gotten their food and drove off already. When they took my receipt and walked into the kitchen my food had been sitting there the whole time. All I'm trying to say is the gentleman that took my order and the girl that works the register had to of known I was out on the patio waiting there for 25 minutes and they didn't even bother to ask or pretend to care. A Pomona favorite. For sure! Packed on Saturday and Sunday mornings. It's just, their sopes aren't good. I don't like that they put cheese on top. Plus they're huge! Team pick up for lunch last week, and wasn't sure what to expect. I ordered the Taco Salad with chicken. It was quite tasty, but I was disappointed that it was only chicken, lettuce, and beans in the crunchy tostada shell. Where was the sour cream, salsa, and guacamole? The chicken though was super moist and tender. We also ordered shredded beef nachos to share, they were YUCKY! The meat was salty and had giant blobs of fat. I bought some tamales from this restaurant and I ordered 6 chicken and 6 pork.. first off it took them almost 40 mins to grab some tamales (no they weren't busy) from the bakery and I was given all chicken tamales. I always order more than I need so that everyone in my family can take some to work/have leftovers.. we were fine with having all chicken until we ate them.. every single one of us got a stomach ache and diarrhea (sorry for the TMI). I went to visit this place to buy some bread and to my surprise we couldn't get our own bread. The employees had to do it, which was fine with me, but when the young girl came to help us out, she seemed bothered and had no patience when we were selecting our bread. She looked angry even. Dined in today for lunch. And just in case you were wondering (masks required) once you're seated you may remove your mask to eat and they do provide a clear list of guidelines to follow. My temperature was checked before being seated. The precautions taken actually made me feel at ease especially since I've been worried to go out. Ordered two hard shell tacos one potato and a beef and an order of carne asada nachos with a side of guacamole which topped it off nicely. My husband went to pick up food from there we ordered a few things one of those being cheese and green chili tamales, but they messed up and gave us chicken which would have been on but let me tell you when I went to open them they were stuck to the paper and the masa was rock hard and the chicken looked so old and dry it was literally the nastiest tamale I have ever seen! Best Mexican food in all of Pomona ! They've been in business for over 25 years. Food is great service is great. If it's a full house service can get backed up but otherwise it's perfect. The bakery next store is the best too. We often buy the pandulce there for our entire family. The pozole on the weekends is my favorite! read more
