Delicious food!! Cash only. Old lady very nice and helpful. Tortillas made by hand. I had Mole con pollo,, super delicious and big pieces of chicken. I recommend.

    Tamale de Mole

Do NOT get the tamale de Mole it doesn't taste right and I've had my hand full of mole tamales at other oaxacan restaurants before. The Mole itself tastes bitter and not sweet like it's supposed to. The Nopal Zapoteco has no flavor. The only thing that was alright was the clayuda, the salsa verde, the alambre, the chilaquiles and that's about it. The agua de horchata was pretty good too.

Grasshopper. If you're scared, roll them in a burrito.

Authentic Oaxaca food cooked by 77yo grandma little old lady. She doesn't speak English but the menu has English. Try the Oaxacan cheese. And the oaxacan tortilla. It's handmade and bigger than the usual.

To be honest I had high expectations and I love Oaxacaen food but man was not good, just like the other 1 star I have to agree casa Oaxaca is 100 percent better then here. They have one elder lady who is doing the whole restaurant. Unfortunately it's a mess tables left dirty, they did as well mess up the orders. Now I tried the mole negro and loved it and thought to myself this place will be good, I got the burrito with mole coloradito and as I was eating it they had chicken bones and cartilage in it. That instantly turned me off from the food, I don't know there health and sanitation but if that is acceptable to them I will never be back. Sorry but I highly do not recommend coming here unless you want some washed up food.

This hole in the wall spot has authentic Oaxacan Food. Large portions for your buck. They also sell Mole tamales which is a plus!

I got Carne Asada fries with Cheese and Cilantro. Immediately after eating like about 30 mins later I started to feel extremely sick. I started throwing up in massive loads all night and all morning today. I had to call off of work and I'm at the ER as I'm writing this review to see if I got food poisoning. My boyfriend got plain fried and he was okay. So I'm thinking either the meat or the cheese was rotten. I do not recommend coming here for your healthy and safety. I still feel like shit and I'm still throwing up today. This was the worse experience I've ever had. ----- The owner wrote back to my Google review with no accountability stating they have been audited by the health department. That doesn't mean anything to me. I'm sure they prepare for the audits in advance but I got sick after eating their food. Maybe the meat or cheese was rotten for that day but I wouldn't be here writing this review for no reason. It's 12:31pm 04/15/25 and I have not stopped throwing up. I feel like I need to let people know to prevent this happening to them. It's horrible!

Extremely fresh shrimp empanadas, seafood tacos, and Aguachiles. However, the quality of food was disappointing this most recent time. We ordered a plate of 6 shrimp enchiladas ($15), and they did not taste fresh. I could even taste pieces of shell inside. Usually they are piping hot and juicy inside, but these tasted microwaved. Hopefully this was just an off night. They have a prime location next to CervezaCito in Santa Ana.

I went on a Friday night and it was VERY lively! There was a band playing by the bar and it was packed! People were drinking, dancing, hanging out. All of this is happening in a supermarket! Lots of food vendors to check out and all of it looked delicious! I don't remember the names of the places my friend and I ordered food from, but I had a chile relleno burrita, seafood cocktail, and pozole. I've never really had chile relleno, so I decided to just go for it and try something different even though there were other options that were more my preference. It was alright. Good thing it was only $5. The seafood cocktail was delicious! They did not skimp on the seafood and everything in it tasted so fresh. Pozole wasn't terrible, but just like my burrita, it was a bit on the bland side. Maybe my palate skews too heavily towards salty, but I felt like a little salt here and there would've really improved the flavors in everything we ordered. Overall the quality/freshness was there! Regarding the market part, nothing special. Maybe a little more selection than your typical Northgate, especially in the liquor department. Their wall of tequila was impressive. I will definitely be back again to try the other foods! In fact, I may just come all the way out here to do grocery shopping from time to time. I saw a guy doing some shopping with a cocktail in his cart and I want to live that life. Bro definitely had the right idea.

During my recent visit, Wendy at cashier station 5 on 6.13.2026 at around 7:30pm provided extremely disrespectful service and openly stated that she did not care enough to learn the pricing codes while scanning items. This raises concerns about pricing accuracy, not only for me but for other loyal customers as well. Fortunately, the employee assisting with bagging demonstrated far more professionalism and took the initiative to correct the mistakes caused by Wendy's lack of attention and concern. I hope management addresses this issue, as customers deserve courteous service and confidence that they are being charged accurately.

When we got there, I let the server know but it didn't seem to matter because he didn't ask my name or time, he just seated us. That works for me! Glad we didn't have to wait, we had to make it a fast meal! We waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted by our waitress. I had seen they had just started serving the soft serve margaritas on their IG and I was SUPER excited to order one! I asked our waitress (Rosie) what flavors were available and she had to ask someone else. Ok, no worries, they had mango and strawberry. I asked for a swirl. My husband ordered a shot of patron anejo sherry cask. She did not seem to understand what he was asking for even though it was an item listed on the menu. He repeated himself a couple times and even pointed to it on the menu before she said "I'll have to check with the bar" she took the rest of our order which consisted of another cocktail, the empanadas, and an order of enchiladas. She left for a bit and came back saying they had his tequila. Then another waitress came back a few moments later asking how he wanted his tequila. After our order was in, we received our chips and salsa. The salsa was delicious! Not too long after, my empanadas came out and they were overdone. Burnt. The pastry was bitter, but not just because it was overcooked, but because it seems like the oil was old. The filling wasn't what I was expecting, but it was tasty. My husband's enchiladas were good. I had one bite. After our meal, husband ordered one more cocktail and the dessert chimichanga. Same bitter oil taste on the chimichanga, I wasn't a fan. When we were brought the check, it turns out we were overcharged for the tequila. We brought it up to the waitress and she told him he ordered a different one when he had repeated "patron anejo sherry cask" to her multiple times. I don't even know if there's more than one sherry cask tequila on the menu! Anyway, she was able to adjust the bill to charge us for the correct tequila but the husband still didn't get to drink the tequila he wanted. Oh well.
