I have used El Monte Storage since before it was El Monte Storage, so I've been with them since their beginning - and am still there. That should tell you how I feel about EMS. I write now because I've recently rented a second unit and I thought the experience was worth noting. I went to the EMS website first to see what specials they offered and there was a great one for the size I wanted. I called and spoke with Darryl who offered to reserve the unit for me at the great price but since my plans weren't firmed up yet, I thought it better to wait. Little did I know that it would cost me. Darryl did not mention that the prices change frequently, increasing as it gets closer to summer. So, when I called back a week or so later to make the reservation, imagine my surprise to find the great price had increased by $20 plus the first month was half price not $1. THEN I learned about how they price their units. I needed the unit so I reserved it. To Darryl's credit, he gave me the Internet price although not the original great price. The cost is more if you call to reserve than it is if done on-line. Darryl was also helpful in reserving a unit near the elevator which was a must for my movers and one of the reasons why I called instead of reserving on-line. I gave El Monte Storage 5 stars in spite of the additional cost because not only was Darryl very accommodating to reserve a unit at the Internet price but I also had such an excellent experience with Joanna Sandoval when I came to see the unit the day before moving in. She was very helpful, friendly and easy to work with. She showed me the unit that had been set aside and it would not have worked. She kindly showed me two other units, one of which would be satisfactory and was upon moving in. She answered all of my questions and explained things very patiently. Joanna is a gem - she knows the storage business and it was easy to establish a rapport with her. If you are considering renting a storage unit you can't do better than El Monte Storage. I've been with them for several years now and it's consistantly been a nice place with nice, really friendly staff who have gone above and beyond in their assistance for me and that kind of customer service is getting very hard to come by so it's really refreshing and appreciated, the facility is always clean and my thing's are secured very well, Thank You to the staff. Researched three storage spots in El Monte, I can say "El Monte Storage" won my choice. BTW..just a little tip, promotional discounts at EMS starts the first week of the month. That being said, the staff is very profesional and nice. They don't make you feel like your doing them a favor, like other places. Was referred here by my sister-in-law and received the best customer service I could have ever imagine. I got out of work just made it before closing and Jim didn't even flinch at the time. It didn't matter that it was 15 minutes to closing, he took the time to go over the sizes and prices of each unit, took the time to show me the units, signed me up, all on his own time. These people that run this place are super unprofessional!! This place is dirty inside & looks like it's about to fall apart!! My storage was full of spiders and roaches!!! I really don't recommend this place to anyone!!! I hate this place so much I literally left behind a lot of my clothes because of how bad the roaches and spiders are!!! They even jump at you!!! I recent changed storage facilities to this one because the other place had lousy customer service and didn't keep the place clean... I came to this place and was amazed with joana she helped me with every question I had and knew what she was talking about great customer skills... she took me on a tour of the facility and unit I wanted and everything was above my expectations... My mom and I have been using this storage for about a yr and a half. This storage place is one of the best ones I have been to. The facility is kept clean. I have never seen a rodent unlike at other storage places. The inside is maintained at room temperature. They have good hours of operation that give me time to go get something out if need be. The storage space is ok for the price you pay. Easy asses entrance available as well. read more

The employees here are nice and always helpfull. They make you feel confortable while you make up your mind with the size of storage you need.they give you a curtsey call if you forget to pay your monthly payment on time. Since I started at this place El Monte Storage has always been good to my belongings . Their safe environment for you and your stored goods I appriciate. I have been a tenant for almost a year now and the units are always clean and the offer complimentary moving carts, which my bofriend loves, really make it easier to load and unload.
