Long lines but went by quick. The good thing about lines though is, the churros are fresh! We were very disappointed when we tried them in CDMX, but probably because they were sitting longer than they should have. Wasn't expecting much better from the LA location, but was pleasantly surprised. Parking and pricing may keep me from coming back, but happy I tried the LA version of the CDMX landmark. Pro tip: during Dodger home games, you can ask for the blue sugar. They said it's on a sign up front, but didn't see one. Anyway, make sure you ask for the Dodger blue sugar special during home games and see all the employees with their Dodger gear too!

First LA location of a beloved churreria based out of Mexico City. The vibe here kind of gives a feeling of a nostalgic soda shop. They make fresh churros and also sell some dipping sauces. The fox here are very friendly as well. A friend and I were walking through the neighborhood and saw that there was zero line. We heard about the craziness of the lines at this place so we decided to get some churros since we definitely weren't gonna wait if there were huge lines. We split the order of four and got some dipping sauces as of 3/2026 an order of four is $11. When we got the order that could've fed four people; you get a lot of churro for your dollar here. They were tasty and the sauces were good as well. We got the chocolate and guava sauces Depending on day and time of the day, the parking in the area could get a little tricky. But we were able to find meter parking down the street for just visiting the neighborhood in general.

I've visited El Moro in Mexico City quite a few times and couldn't be happier when I heard the news that they were coming to Echo Park. The Eastside location is just as fabulous and delicious as I remember. Amazing (and huge) churros, mini churro bites, and fabulous dipping sauces. My personal favorite sauces are the condensed milk and Nutella-like option. The service was excellent, and the outdoor patio is quite spacious and welcoming. Parking isn't amazing but well worth the extra steps. Can't wait for my next visit.

I really wanted to love El Moro. A churro spot that's been going strong in Mexico City since 1935 had every reason to impress. The line out front looked intimidating at first but moved quickly, which was a nice surprise. The inside and patio are bright and lively, really fun atmosphere. But the churros were disappointing. They came out cold and were two very different sizes, which is awkward when you're sharing. I hate to say it but I've had better churros for less on Lorena St. in East LA. El Moro has the vibe, just not the churros to match it.

This was my second time visiting El Moro in two weeks, which honestly says a lot considering I live out of town. The first time I discovered it was after visiting one of my favorite breweries, Monkish Brewing Co.. El Moro is nearby, and the look of the building immediately caught my attention. Once I walked inside and realized they specialized in churros, I was sold. I love churros, especially the ones at Disneyland, so I had to try this place. The menu has a ton of options. You can order churros individually, in sets, or as churro bites, and they also have several dipping sauces including cajeta, condensed milk, chocolate hazelnut, and guava. Beyond the churros, they offer a wide variety of drinks including Mexican hot chocolate styles like the Mexicano, Frances, Especial, Oaxaqueño, and champurrado. They also have coffee drinks like café de olla, cappuccinos, lattes, and Americanos, plus aguas frescas, milkshakes, tortas, and more. The first time I visited, I had churros with the Mexicano hot chocolate, and it was fantastic. The second time, my girlfriend and I both got churros again, and she ordered a hot café de olla while I tried the iced version. The hot version was definitely better and more flavorful, so I'd recommend sticking with the hot drinks if you can. Next time, I'm probably trying the champurrado. The atmosphere is also really nice. The restaurant has a clean white-and-blue aesthetic, the staff all wear uniforms, and everything felt clean and organized inside. It's honestly a really solid little date spot if you're in the area. Parking is manageable since there are parking lots nearby around Echo Park within a short walking distance. They also have a restroom available, though you'll need the code from the receipt or can just ask the staff for it. Overall, I'd absolutely recommend El Moro if you have a sweet tooth. Great churros, great drinks, cool atmosphere, and definitely somewhere I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm in LA.

AMAZING AMAZING CHURROS! FOR SUCH A GREAT PRICE! If you can't tell, I loved these churros and will absolutely be returning next time I'm in Echo Park. It seemed like a popular spot with a line out the door, but the ordering process was smooth, and waiting for our order was very quick. We picked up 12 churros for $30, which I thought was a great deal (considering the churros I normally get are $5.75 each). They were very large, warm, and perfectly crispy, while still being soft on the inside. They had 5 dipping sauce options for $2; chocolate, caramel, nutella, condensed milk, and guava (seasonal flavor). Lots of seating both inside and outside.

As a frequent traveler to Mexico City, I was so happy to see El Moro near me. I have also visited the one inside the market in Costa Mesa when they first opened, but let's be real. It's too far to go just for churros. Anyway, I drive down Sunset Boulevard a lot and saw that El Moro was under construction months ago. When I passed by after their grand opening, the line was way too crazy, and it was not worth waiting that long, to be honest. Finally got to pay a visit; no line. Just a few people before me. Though I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for my churro, I guess it isn't anywhere close to what it was when they first opened. I feel like the churros here are overcooked. It looks dry and tastes dry too. I've had this I don't know how many times in Mexico, but trust me, I had enough to tell the difference easily. The dips here look like they've been packaged individually by staff, whereas in Mexico, they already come out in a small square container kind of like the ones given at Chick-fil-A. But it is satisfying, especially when I am craving their guava dip. Guys, chocolate, condensed milk, caramel, or whatever else they have, try GUAVA. THIS should be the only dip you should try. I only get this one, and it hits the spot perfectly. So why three stars? It's so filthy! Sugar sprinkles literally everywhere: counters, condiments section, chairs, tables, floor, etc. It doesn't look clean at all. I don't remember seeing anything like this in Mexico. Even where they fry the churros doesn't seem too clean. It really bothers me that they don't do proper cleaning throughout the restaurant. But staff is friendly and tries to help you as soon as they possibly can. Everyone is smiling and seems to be happy to be there.

I don't understand the current rating of this place! 5 stars all around. There is so much seating and space, inside and out! The staff was very friendly and greeted us when we walked in. We opted for the miniature churros, and my fiance and I proclaimed that they were the perfect sharing size for the two of us! You get a lot of bang for your buck, the container was $6. We didn't try any of their dipping sauces and while I was sad about it in the moment, they didn't need them! I can't wait to come back and try more, the milkshakes looked so good. I do wish that their menu screens stayed up and didn't rotate with pictures, it took us longer to order than needed. Other than that though, no complaints.

Attentive, engaging and friendly staff. Plenty of seating. Simple & clean interior. Churros were fresh, crispy and warm. Excellent treat for anytime.

Pretty solid churro! I was honestly so impressed watching them make the churro through the glass window. We got 4 churros to share. Love that they came hot & fresh. I felt something was missing... so I had to run it back and get some more churros and try their dips. I got the chocolate, evaporated milk, and the cajeta (my fav!). Personally, I preferred it with the dips. Next time I want to try their ice cream sandwich!

    Churros nicely packed to go!

The best churros I've had since my childhood! I had been patiently waiting for this spot to open since last October and I'm thrilled to announce, that they did not disappoint. I ordered four churros, the horchata latte iced and the cafe de olla iced. Everything was delightful. The churros were soft, not too doughy and the cinnamon ratio was just right. They added an extra churro to our order which was a pleasant surprise. The iced coffees were excellent quality and filled with robust flavors. Check them out next time you are in the area!

I've been following them for a while after they opened up their shop here, and was glad I finally got to try it. I thought that the churros were really good, not as warm as I would've liked. However, I would definitely go again and add a sauce which would enhance the taste in my opinion.

Yesterday I went to El Moro in Echo Park. Originally, I was planning to visit another coffee shop nearby, but when I arrived, the place was so small and there was no parking available. So I walked around and then found El Moro. It had parking and there were quite a lot of people there, which made me curious, so I decided to try it. This place is known for churros, but when I looked at the menu inside, I saw that they also serve Mexican food. I ordered an Asado and hot Americano. Later, since I was curious about the churros, I decided to try those as well. I noticed that all the dipping sauces cost $2, so before ordering the churros I asked if they had a dark chocolate dipping sauce. They said yes, so I went ahead and ordered the churros. For the Asado, My Mom didn't like it at all and said it didn't taste good, but I thought it was okay. The Americano coffee was very good -- it had a nice aroma and a rich flavor. The churros had a cinnamon flavor and were slightly sweet for my taste, but they were still delicious. One thing I noticed is that when you order dishes like Asado at most Mexican restaurants, sauces are usually included, but they charge $2 for the sauces here. We sat at an outdoor table, and one of the staff members was spraying and cleaning the table right behind us. At first, the smell of the cleaning spray was a bit unpleasant while we were eating. However, the smell disappeared quickly. The staff member was also very kind -- when I went inside to use the restroom or get napkins, he even opened the door for me. I think he was simply doing his job and trying to keep the tables clean. Even though the strong spray smell right next to us wasn't ideal at first, on the other hand I think that he was making an effort to keep the place clean. Overall, all of the staff members were very friendly, and It was good.

Review based on take away:…read more We decided to try out this well-known spot for dinner and ordered the kimchi brown butter chicken sando,Honey walnut shrimp sando, and curry cheese waffle fries. I'll discount the ever so slightly soggy bun because this was our fault for waiting about an hour after taking delivery to enjoy lol. The winner of the bunch was absolutely the kimchi brown butter chicken sando, a close second is the honey walnut shrimp sando. The kimchi and mac and cheese balance perfectly and I appreciate particularly how well the mac and cheese pairs with the chicken!! I thought it was going to be a heavy sando - bunch each bite was actually quite refreshing! The fries were extremely well flavored and dipped in the curry sauce was a flavor explosion!
