One of my favorite creameries and gelato eateries in Los Angeles. Serving up a scoop a time on Sunset Blvd/Hyperion Avenue in vibrant Silver Lake seven days a week with some of the best flavors including and abundance of dairy free options. I've been stopping in for a few years, mostly with bae, but found myself here after a nice five mile walk with a group of awesome guys, friends old and new. Treated myself to two scoops of the Vegan Toasted Coconut, which might be my all time favorite. Light, fluffy, textured and overall delicious. Also dig the Vegan Double Dark Chocolate Chip and Counter Culture Coffee flavors. They have several topping including rainbow sprinkles, chocolate like chips, waffle pieces and more. Enjoy a plethora of pastries and treats as well including guest goodies via Brady's Bakery. Great service, good hot, cold and bottled bevs including root beer, cola jarritos, and boxes water to name a few. Fan of their Sorbettos/Sorbets (like Raspberry, Mango, Guava) and creative distinct offerings. Artisinal-style small batch deliciousness with tables and chairs both inside and outside overlooking the blvd. Gelatoing since 2006. Including pints to go, delivery and gelato on the go ;) Easy parking on the street though it can be a journey unless you know the area a bit. Walkable from several other places such at The Black Cat, Erewhon, Akbar, Rough Trade Gear, Wasteland and lots of great places in the area if making a day of it. Walking and shopping around Silver Lake and we just had to stop for a sweet treat at Pazzo Gelato. There are so many unique flavors and I love that they have non-dairy options made with real fruit. This is a solid gelato spot. I've been here a couple of times with friends because we love gelato! I like that they have vegan options and they let you sample the flavors before you buy. I loved the unique flavors, the cashier serving us was gracious enough to let us try a bunch of flavors, and although there is limited seating inside, the outdoor seats are a vibe. I opted for the Ube Mochi flavor and the pistachio. The ube was very flavorful, and I did enjoy the mochi bits. For mochi being in a cold dessert, it was surprisingly still really soft! classic flavor, but I've never seen it be done gelato style so this was good! I'll start off by saying that I'm not a huge fan of ice cream, and I'm pretty picky with it. But this place has excellent quality gelato. The toasted marshmallow is a rare concoction, labor intensive effort for them to make -- but it is quite possibly the best flavor of any dessert I've had! The texture is perfect. Creamy, luscious, and tastes EXACTLY like the burnt inside of a marshmallow in a smore (b/c they actually burn a ton of marshmallow in an arduous process--check their instagram!). So if you can catch that flavor on sale, get it! The ube mochi gelato is also quite good. In my Filipino pov, it tastes authentically like ube! And the bits of mochi are a nice textural and flavorful surprise. Service is excellent. Good local ice cream shop vibes all around. This local mom&pop gelato place has a fierce, almost cult following among locals and regulars. In fact, it is so fire that its fans are almost apoplectic on the subject of its superiority. To? Well, a few chains nearby, for example. I read one review on that site that sounded as if the writer was literally in tears about the comparison. In short? It is felt there is only contrast, no comp. What did we experience? Well, we stumbled on it without realizing what it was when looking for a coffee spot to grab a latte after frequenting, you guessed it, a rival icecreameria steps away (one that I love, btw). Pazzo has a deep bench of flavors, changing them regularly. I spied the Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake and pounced on it. The other people in the group had the Rose Pistachio and the Chocolate Peanut butter. Yum-o! As Rachel Ray would say. It was all delicious. A single scoop is really two, and two are three, etc. The double "single" scoop was so generous and rich that it was all I could manage, although I tasted the other two flavors. Rich and delicious but light and not as heavy-cream laden as some ice creams. I like both types, but make no mistake, this gelato is more Italian, delicate and satisfying. The place is spotless, there are seats inside and out, but be prepared to wait on line. Even on a weird late but not popular time slot on a weekend, there was a file out the door. One of our group made a second round and waited a good 15 minutes. The coffee is heavenly. I had a Lavender Latte the first time I went and my friend had a Chai Latte -- whatever coffee and method they are using, it's magic. Vegan gelato??? Are you for real?! This was not only the best vegan gelato I've ever had but maaaybe the best gelato I've had outside of Italy. So creamy, flavorful, and just perfect. I got the chocolate orange and the consistency was amazing. The guava sorbetto was a different consistency from the gelato, definitely more gummy than creamy, but still so good too. Also the person who scooped our gelato was so generous giving us samples, and he gave us a huge portion for a small cup. The best! read more

The gelato here is really good however it is too pricy to be worth visiting regularly. Small store with a few tables indoors and some tables outside. Has a small tight shared parking lot behind the building. The service was friendly enough, a little slow because at first there was only one person working but luckily a second person came out when there was a line building up. It was $11.25 plus tax and potentially a tip for a triple scoop. Portion size was decent but realistically I would've been satisfied if it was $9 or less. It's just too much to charge for gelato unfortunately. So only go if you're super rich or someone else is paying for it. I got the blueberry sorbet (a little too soft but good flavor and very pulpy), ginger pearl (good ginger gelato with little chocolate malt balls and candied ginger inside), and guava sorbet (refreshing). I appreciate their nice variety of flavors that aren't typical flavors you can get at the grocery store. Not really a fan of all the political virtue signaling signs on the front door but I guess that's why they have to charge such ridiculously high prices. read more
