The reason for the 1 star is simply the food and service. Being a holiday (mothers day) I expected a longer wait to be seated, but we were seated within 30 min. After that, it all goes down hill. Our waiter came to the table and asked if we wanted water, then took of for 25 min. When she returned we finally ordered our food. After that, we didn't see her until we had been there for an hour she had returned asking if we got a bowl of cheese dip? No we did not, and we didn't order it. She says okay and runs off. Another 45 min go buy, now total sit down time is 1 hour and 45 min, and she did not return. I had to go to the front desk and ask where our food was. Another 25 min go by, and we got half our order and it had been sitting in the window. I got the Texan fajitas and they were Luke warm, not sizzling like they normally come out. The kids quasidilla came out soggy, and the tacos were Luke warm with foil over them. After another 15 min we got the other half of our order and the nachos were cold, but the other kids meal was nice and hot! After all that, we ate and a waited around for our check, and again the waitress never came. So I went to the front desk and asked for it. I grabbed my card, went back to the front and paid. After all that, our waiter showed up and asked if we still needed the check and to have a good day. Overall, this was a not great visit, and I'm pretty positive we won't come back. read more

Don't let the three stars fool you! This place has changed for the better, a rare condition indeed. They remodeled and brought in a new chef. The shrimp fajitas were some of the best I ever had. I enjoyed the karaoke on a Thursday night but my parents who are older didn't so much as it was a bit hard to hear so take that into consideration. The service was polite & there's plenty of seating. When we first entered, we were pleased to see that every table was 6ft apart and everyone was social distancing! We had a nice man as our server who came to check on us regularly. I'd suggest not placing orders over the phone, fish tacos do not contain ground beef, the last 4 or 5 times, my orders have been incorrect, and waiting extra time to send back to the kitchen. my wife is Spanish, so language is not the problem. so check the bags. No need to do this because everyone knows how good and well prepared both El Paso and Vallartas food is. Being that I have worked with both restaurants as a server I know just how hard the cooks work to make everything in house. Sometimes they come in at 4am! In order to open the doors at 11am. Good & tasty, seemed like a full sized portion until I got to the wraps & saw only three. That was OK though because it was lunch & I didn't want to over do it. Seeing we were at the gulf coast it did not surprise me that there must have been a dozen extra large to jumbo shrimp in the order. (under 12.00 on the lunch menu as well!) It's been about year since me and my wife ate here and they have seriously stepped up their game. The fajitas were awesome, a lot of very well prepared chicken, beef, and shrimp with freshly cooked vegetables. Last time we were there it was the complete opposite (very little meat with mush for vegetables). The inside is now open and bright, opposed to last time it was dark and dingy feeling. The only negative was I think the staff was undermanned, but other than that great place. We will be back again for sure. read more
